Inspired by the music of Dead Can Dance . Within the realm of a Dying Sun
This is a view from Iceland' Inner track , quite far from any source of life , .. while we were crossing back the island towards Reykjavik. I really enjoyed the new September snow on these overwhelming mountains afar.
I've used a 200 mm zoom with 2 Lee ND graduated filter . And then process the image by adding some partial contrasts.
To appreciate the image, I advise you a bigger vision just here : [link]
This mesmerizing landscape was ... One of the most striking vision from our latest Iceland ethereal journey .. We were crossing the island to reach the North... A new world for me , I've never been there before.
The arrival of autumn offered us a dark brown moss mixed with black ashes ... A vast, desolate landscape,
At this this moment the land was sweeped with snow and the mountains afar ... drenched with a pale light.
The vision was .... kind of .. coming out from a dream .. the shapes of the mountains were blurred by a veil of pouring snow ..
I enjoyed the double framing of the picture ... focusing on the progression from dark to light ..
From our latest workshop in the Alps. this view was done with 200 mm .. and slightly de saturated , with warm white balance .. giving the impression of an ominous gate towards another world . I've croped it Square and slightly darkened the scene.
I'm still not sure about this one .. Difficult to choose between cold and warm white balance . there was the sun , with a halo and the ice on the beach , I've remove a bit of saturation as well . I'm curious about your opinion ..
This is the beach at Jokulsarlon . Iceland I'm tried different exposure time to get the water coming towards me like this .. And just after this shot .. My lense 70-200 F4 L IS fell in the sea .. because of a big wave coming .. hmhm ..
This is a picture from our last Iceland trip in September. The light was subtle and lateral almost the whole day .. And the Skaftafell area unveils a crazy land ( floor ? ground ? ) with all the mixed colors .
