This is the dark version of the tray icon theme I'm working on. I want to all tray icons have the same width and height. Any suggestions? Comments? They're all welcome.

To install the icon theme, you just need to extract the content to the next folder:

/home/(your username)/.icons

And that's it!

To use the "volume alt." icons, go to the folder "status/22/volume-alt/equalizer", copy all the files and paste them on "status/22". If you don't like them, you can restore to the default icons by copying the files on "status/22/volume-alt/speaker" and paste them on "status/22".

*If you want to download the regular version of this icon theme, go here [link]

Update:
11/02: Release date of the dark version.

CADMIUM SUITE

Information

NAME: Cadmium
VERSION: 0.3.1
AUTHOR: spliceosome
URL: spliceosome.deviantart.com

Description

A metallic, mac-inspired theme designed to be both aesthetically pleasing and functional. This package includes two styles: Regular and Gloss. Includes GTK, Metacity, Emerald, CoverGloobus, and Chrome/Chromium skins.

Requirements

  • Equinox engine [link]

  • Murrine engine (In Mint/Ubuntu this should be installed by default or at least found in the repositories. For other users, [link]).

Installation

To install the theme:
1) Open Appearance settings. Click on Theme tab.
2) Drag Cadmium-0.1.tar.gz file into the Appearance window.

To install the Emerald theme:
1) Open Emerald Theme Manager.
2) Click on Import.
3) Navigate to the directory where you extracted the theme.
4) Select Cadmium.emerald.

To install CoverGloobus Theme:
1) On your keyboard, press ALT+F2. Type in "gksudo nautilus" without the quotes. Navigate to where you extracted the theme pack.
2) Extract the Cadmium-CoverGloobus folder into /usr/share/covergloobus/themes/.

Panel Settings
You must set the panel background manually. Right click on any empty space on the panel, select Properties. Select the Background tab, and choose Background image. The panel backgrounds are found in ~/.themes/Cadmium/Panel Backgrounds directory.

Credits

  • Theme code based on weakhead's Elementary EM and danrabbit's elementary.

  • CoverGloobus theme based on gabriela2400's APPOWS theme

  • Chrome based on marcogandi's elementary-chromium theme

  • Used Plastique3 metacity as a basis for the metacity themes

  • Used elementary-mod breadcrumbs

Changelog

  • 0.3.1 Includes Metacity Themes for both styles. Made breadcrumbs lighter in Cadmium, and added different breadcrumbs for Cadmium-Gloss.

  • 0.3 Just some minor changes to the Cadmium-Gloss Emerald theme. There is also now a CoverGloobus Theme for Cadmium-Gloss

  • 0.2 Included glossy version. No arrow now for GNOME main menu (thanks arialis111 for the fix).

Candy icon theme is created by Jonian Guveli and Olibia Tsati. After making Erectus icon theme which had quite a success on gnome-look and Jonian's participation in the Humanity icons, we decided to put our effort at the creation of this amazing icon theme.

You can visit our Launchpad page and follow the project progress or report bugs. [link]

Candy icons are licensed under GPLv2. [link]

***WARNING: This package is a preview release and should not be judged as a final product.***

This icon theme for Gnome provides monochromatic icons for panels, toolbars and buttons and colourful squared icons for devices, applications, folder, files and Gnome menu items. Four themes are included to fit with light or dark themes/panels.

This work is released under the GNU/GPL license. Sources can be downloaded here : [link]

INSTALLATION:
Download the tar.gz file and extract it. In the new folder created, run the ./INSTALL script to choose the distribution logo (Ubuntu, by default) and the Gnome menu icon. If run as root, the script will copy the iconsets to /usr/share/icons to made them available to all users. Some default icons used by Rhythmbox and Dockmanager may be also replaced.
Run ./UNINSTALL as root to restore defaults icons.

Faenza icon theme is available to install for Ubuntu users via a PPA repository. View the README file for instructions and a list of known issues.

As the file is the too big for DA submission policy, you can download the archive form the dedicated Google Code page: [link]

TIPS:
  • Ubuntu 11.10: the Unity panel has a strange behavior with some icons compared with the previous version (and Gnome 2 panels of course), especially with user menu and battery state icons. You might use one of the to new themes instead of the classic ones: Faenza-Ambiance is suitable with dark panel and toolbars (inherits Faenza-Darkest theme), Faenza-Radiance with light panel and controls (inherits Faenza theme).

  • Some applications are configured to always use the same icon regardless of the selected theme. To display the Faenza icon, edit as root the /usr/share/applications/application_name.desktop file and locate the line beginning with 'Icon='. Replace the fullpath icon name by the one of the Faenza icon (usually, it's the name of the application itself) without the extension.
Don't forget to make a backup before changing one of those files.
E.g. Vim desktop file is /usr/share/applications/gvim.desktop
Some desktop files can be located in /usr/local/share/applications or in your ~/.local/share/applications folder (e.g. Steam desktop file is somewhere in ~/.local/share/applications/wine).
Here is a partial list: emacs23, gcolor2, bluefish, hardinfo, setroubleshoot, gufw, pithos, vim, rssowl, netbeans, gazpacho, guake, all commercial games, etc

  • If you want to use the new Gnome contact application, edit its desktop file (/usr/share/applications/gnome-contacts.desktop) to use the specific (and beautiful) icon named gnome-contacts ;)
