I have left Vector Marketing. Working for that company really was not something I could continue to do.
Everyone once and a while I like to post my deep and personal thoughts about specific things. Today I want to talk to you about the company I work for.
It is terrible.
I need to explain this more thoroughly, so let me begin. The company I spent the last three days in training for is called Vector Marketing, a subsidiary of Cutco. Cutco is a company that creates super-high quality knives, and Vector sells those knives. Cutco is a good company, however Vector is not.
Vector uses a three day, unpaid, highly-aggressive brainwashing training program. I was constantly pressured into doing things I didn't want to do, and not in a good way. The training program claims to help boost self confidence and selling skills, but I haven't felt less self-confident since I was dumped over a year ago. I feel tricked and cheated. The way the company is set up, I can be ter
VECTOR MARKETING IS A SCAM.The other night I was looking for work on countless job sites on the internet. I stumbled across workforstudents.com. Vector Marketing. Hm, promised as much as $15 per hour...but it didn't say anywhere what the job actually was. I'm desparate so I filled out the application and went to bed. The very next day, at 10 AM, I receive a call from 'Vector'. Apparently I'm awesome and I need to come in for an interview ASAP. I tell them I can't make it that day and the air changes. I hear a 'Oh...well, I guess people DO have lives..' I set up an appointment for Monday at 4 PM. As I hang up the phone, I feel uneasy. I asked more than once what the job was, and the responses were vague. 'It's customer service! Be sure to ask questions at the interview and dress nice!' Well, yes, I assume you would dress nice. Isn't that common sense? And why the hell won't you tell me what Vector is?
I get back home and my gut tells me to do some research. I type 'Vector Marketing' in Goo
ah Don't work for Vector Marketing...They discriminate against the Elderly and Disabled because they aren't "gainfully employed." This is discriminating against Citizens who were working and by retiring/getting hurt on the job can't work now. When I was a representative I asked if I could show retired citizens my demo and qualify for the base pay, I was told it was alright and so I did. I was then told by my manager this last Monday that I wasn't going to be paid for three of my showings because two of them were retired and not working, and one was unemployed because she had just moved 120 miles + recently and hadn't found a job, yet she BOUGHT something.ah Don't work for Vector Marketing...3 years ago in Personal More Like This
So I worked for 3 hours and I get nothing? Vector fail.
I'm just kind of upset that I won't get as much as I was hoping for. Its not cool that they refuse to recognize that fact that Elderly folks have SS incomes as well as 401K plans that provide income after they retire because they DID work so why can't I be paid to show them? Does a min. Wage job mean a customer will
