I know...there are too many drawings of this guy, but I hadn't drawn him since January 2009, when I first started drawing, and I wanted to do a larger piece. This old one below only as a 3 inch face.

OLD DRAWING

The reference photo was actually lacking in some details, so I added some of my own. There was SO much BLACK in this, I basically just blacked out everything that WASN'T Jack :D:D

SIZE: 8.5 x 10.5 inches
TIME: about 12 hours?

Kinda of a quick one for me. I had trouble with the eyes. They seemed too small and the quality of the photo was not good, so I had to make up details. I made his beard a little thicker than it was.
:D:D

Only 4.5 x 6 inches
About 4 hours?

Enlarged view at 600 pixels wide to show details, but is larger than actual drawing

I first drew the Joker 21 months ago, on 1/9/2009 - just 4 months after I started drawing. To see my FIRST drawing of him, go here: [link]

SIZE: 7 x 5-1/2
TIME: about 8 hours

PENCILS: Staedtler Mars Lumograph H, HB, F, B, 2B, 3B

"WHY SO SERIOUS??? LET'S PUT A SMILE ON THAT FACE!!"
:D:D

I loved the expression in this photo, and have not seen anyone draw this one before, but it was not high res, and I have to imagine some of the details. Most photos of him are slightly out of focus screen shots from the movie vs him posing for his photo in make-up? I also didnít waste my time trying to reproduce the dots on his shirt collar either. The reference photo looks clear enough, but the larger you make it, the more pixelated it gets. I couldn't really go wrong though with the makeup. Unlike the details of a normal person, messy make-up is messy make-up, so it didnít really matter that I didnít try to copy this 100%?

FYI...both views are larger than the drawing, and that WHITE spot where HER left eye should be in the dark I thought was cool on the reference photo HERE [link]

I have it displayed in 700 pixels wide, which is about 1 inch WIDER than the actual drawing :D:D 2 years later (7/1/12) I see many areas I could improve on today ;)

* Strathmore Bristol Smooth
* 6 x 6-1/2 inches (15x17cm)
* Staedtler Pencils: H, HB, B, 2B, 3B
* Approx 9 hours

I've seen others draw this in the past, and I always knew I would one day. Well, I finally did it? I was most challenged by all the tiny buildings in the reflection of his glasses.

This is my 3rd Bruce Willis drawing in 2 years. The weird thing was, while I've been drawing it over the last 2 days, on the TV next to my drawing table were the movies Die Hard, The Whole Ten Yards, an ad for Live Free Die Hard and tonight I saw Cop Out :D:D

As usual, the UN-enlarged view is about the size of the actual drawing, which is 5-1/2 x 7 inches

I tried NOT to focus too much on the badge. I've done that with other portraits before when they have objects in the drawing. I tried to draw his thumb print too, if you can see that? ;)
