Special thanks to Carlo Pagulayan :iconguisadong-gulay:, one of Marvel's commissioned artists in the country. We based the costume design on his artwork.

We rarely do a second pose / layout for a cosplay shoot, but since Nadine was such a deadringer for the character, we thought of pushing it just a bit more.

As much as we wanted to do the Jim Lee rendition, the boots and the inner suit is just a bit too fantastic already. We settled for the Ultimates costume design for Gambit.

Big kudos to Solenn... she's not just an awesome model, but a great make-up artist too. She even came in all made up already. Plus she did her own prosthetics for the scars and blood. I was amazed. Total pro.

And of course, thanks to :iconguisadong-gulay: for literally illustrating the peg / pose for us during the shoot. We shall now call this, "The Carlo Pagulayan Action Shot"

Special thanks to Harvey Tolibao and Carlo Pagulayan for helping us with the art direction, and just providing a ton of laughs.

Back in 2008, we also had Rhian cosplay as Rogue for my Pop Nostalgia exhibit. Somehow, I felt that she just had to reprise her role again. And we weren't mistaken.

Edit (02.06.11): Marvel.com featured this image in their website! Just having the Marvel watermark gave me goosebumps. [link]

Edit (10.15.11): Chris Claremont, one of the creators of the XMEN and the creator of Rogue, signs the print in NYCC 2011.

Psylocke Ver. 1

Psylocke was one of the first cosplay shoots we ever did three years ago, and I thought she deserves a revisit, given the kind of experience and knowledge we have earned through the years. I hope we did her character justice this time around.

Edit (08.05.11): It's featured in Marvel.com!

Also curious to note, the claws were made out of real metal. Wish they came in adamantium though. We're coming up with two versions of X-23, one teen (which is this one) and one adult version (still be to shot).

We gotta hand it MC for bringing Ms. Marvel to life. She really did a superb job on the costume. She was like a walking / talking Ms. Marvel... as in.

Funny to note, our last "in Flight" shot was Rogue. Knowing how these two characters related to each other in the comics was a strange coincidence in our shoots.

The cityscape shot was taken from the observation deck of 30 Rockefeller, home of NBC Studios.
