No holding back.
No self conscious.
Just indulgence in the act of painting.
The best way to improve is to learn as much as possible from the old mistakes. I have to paint and I will learn from the mistakes. No textbook or instruction video will improve my skills If I don't paint.

It's Almost December, so...How do you spend your Christmas? It's Almost December, so...1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I want to do something special this Xmas, I don't want to roll around my room, watching TV and browsing randomly like last year. Going to church is a must, so that's out of question. Somehow I want to send Xmas card to some people. I mean, send the REAL card, not a random pic via e-mail or FB. When I was little, I chose the cards by myself, each design for a certain person. When I chose the card, I always think about the person who will receive my card. When I was a little bigger, I made my own card. A silly one, actually, made with hard paper, decoration feather, rope and some other stuffs. Around that time, when I received the Xmas and New Year card, I usually hang them on my window so it's covered by colorful cards. Very beautiful memories. But the tradition to send card has stopped after many people have cellphone :"( now they just send greetings text via phone that can be copied easily. Sad, so sad.
I guess, I might do something for this Xmas. N

Kasihan, sepertinya ada DA alay-artist Indonesia ga penting yang cari perhatian. Sorry, I won't stoop to your level and deal with it. Silakan bermain-main dan bercuap2 seenaknya soal gw bersama teman-temanmu yang sama gilanya. Tampak lo sama aja ama temen2 lo anggota 'Barisan reject', NGGA ADA KEMAJUAN.
Here's a tip;
Illustrator/comic artists are acknowledged by their work. Dan bukan dengan ngomongin orang. Try to spend more time drawing rather than bashing. Maybe you'll be better. Then people will notice you for your work.
Signed a new contract. Exciting! Haha....
Ah feel sso good when somebdoy came to you and appreciate your work and wants to work with you professionaly.
Photomanip Features :: August 2013Hello! As a way to give more exposure to fellow photomanipulators, every month I will be putting together a small feature of great manips under 100, and of some inspiring works over that number.Photomanip Features :: August 20133 months ago in Art Features More Like This
If you would like to recommend a work of yours or someone else's that is under 100, please do so in this journal or send me a note. Keep in mind that it has to be a photomanipulation submitted in 2013 or 2012, not earlier, and that it can't have more than that number of faves at the moment of your suggestion (I can't guarantee you that it will be included in the feature, though).
Enjoy! Please don't forget to visit the original works, fave if you like it or drop a friendly comment!

Declines + Submission Criteria (Including Cosplay)Hi everyone,Declines + Submission Criteria (Including Cosplay)6 months ago in Personal More Like This
This has unfortunately become an ongoing problem which is why it's necessary for us to write a journal entry about it, but if your submission was declined and you would like to know why,
Please do not comment on the front page of the group and
Please do not send us a note.
What you should do instead is leave us a comment in the correspondence message of the submission that was declined. When you submit a deviation, a correspondence message like the one below should appear in your messages page. Click on the link that says "No Comments" in order to leave us a comment.
The reason for this is that on our side, we can see details inside the correspondence message like when the deviation was submitted, which folder it was submitted to, and which mods voted to decline or accept. We get a massive amount of submissions per day - sometimes about 100 or more in a single day - so if you just comment on the front page or send us a note and go "Why was this declined? (Lin
Dreadout, a very creepy gameSo I just played and beaten a demo for game called Dreadout. Its a Indonesian horror game that looks very similar to the game Fatal Frame but it have its differences. The graphics are well done and the atmosphere is very creepy and dark. The enemies are just as scary and unlike Fatal Frame, there are different enemies besides ghosts and the puzzles are different and require to use the camera on the smartphone in the game to solve them. The fighting system is pretty awesome and is similar to Fatal Frame's fighting system. But all have to say is the demo for the game was amazing and it sold me. I'm not really a pc gamer, I'm more of a console gamer than anything else but I would buy this game. I've watched pewdiepie and raedwulfgamer play it before I actually played it and I thought it was great and wanted to try it out for myself. If you want to try out the demo for this game, just google dreadout demo download and you should be able find their site where you can download it.Dreadout, a very creepy game7 months ago in Personal More Like This

It's 6 AM in Germany and I'm sitting in business lounge on Frankfurt Airport eating some regular food (eggs? lol?) and drinking not-so-sweet ice tea

'Mingi' Massacre:iconSeekHim: *SeekHim'Mingi' Massacre10 months ago in Personal More Like This
Among some tribes in the Omo River Valley in southwestern Ethiopia
certain children are considered Mingi (Impure, Ritually polluted)
Reasons for being declared Mingi are:
Being born out of wedlock.
Being the result of an unplanned pregnancy.
Being born a twin.
Being born with some sort of deformity or imperfection.
Having one's genitals injured in some way.
Having ones teeth come in the upper jaw before the lower jaw.
Chipping a tooth during childhood.
Children declared Mingi are considered cursed by the spirits.
It is believed that if allowed to live a Mingi child will bring misfortune to the community.
Children declared Mingi are either abandoned to die or killed.
Mingi children are either drowned, starved, or, in the case of infants,
have dirt stuffed in their mouths so that they choke to death.
Please, please pray that this evil practice stop!

Here we are a few weeks after IlluXCon and my mind is still buzzing with the possibilities, even as I settle back into the same routine I had before. Yet now I have realized something.
Here I am back in the same ol' catch 22 that trapped me into an unhealthy unproductive pattern as before. To make ends meet, I work small side jobs (mostly leather crafts or independent commissions) and by the time I'm done with that, I'm left with just a few hours at the end of my day to cram in both my portfolio work and my personal work, which usually means choosing one over the other, unless I'm crafty and double-dip the chip, metaphorically speaking.
It's so very difficult to take time from these activities that bring us income to convince myself working on portfolio pieces instead is going to pay off! But it needs to be done or I'll stop and look

Bercerita tentang seorang cewek penyihir bernama Mona yang melakukan "perjanjian darah" dengan seorang ksatria muda bernama Eam.
Walaupun berlabel "Fantasy", sebenernya ceritanya lebih mengarah ke Romance.
Buat gue sih standar.. Apa karena gue gak begitu suka romance yah?
Mona dibuat TSUNDERE STADIUM 9 yang bahkan sama sekali gak mau ngomong kepada sang ksatria sekaligus pria pujaannya (bahkan sampai dibentak). Dan dia menyesali itu. Dasar ababil
Yah buat gue sih gitu. Standar aja.

Interview with Elena and Olivia CeballosOkay so I had a chat with two of my favourite artists and good friends who work very closely in line with visual development, and they agreed to do an interview!Interview with Elena and Olivia Ceballos10 months ago in Personal More Like This
This interview was conducted several months ago, and now the twins have a freelance position at Disney Toon Studios! Congratulations ladies!
Interview with Elena and Olivia Ceballos (~ELIOLI)
(My questions are in bold)
Thanks ladies for chatting to me about your work! We'll start at the basics - what got you both into animation?
Thanks for the interview! Surprisingly, our spark for this specialized art form didn't come from a Disney film! We were 7 years old, going with two other sets of twins to the theater who wouldn't be still. We went to watch Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmaron. Being twins (not in all cases of course), we were so in awe at the same time from that point on by the animation produced by this studio called Dreamworks Animation. We started studying up on work from James Baxter, one o

This month, Roots, a.k.a. :iconNattygrego: is interviewing Damien, a.k.a. :iconToolbazar:
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Damien, I'm french and I live in China.
I've bought my very first camera 3 years ago, a Nikon D5000. At this time, I was discovering China and I wanted to keep good memories of this period. So, instead of buying a compact I've bought the Nikon. Eventually, I was more and more curious and fascinated about this art.

I will try to repost Book One of The Seer this Christmas before school begins again.
I can't promise anything since I have a better way of posting it on dA now, hopefully keeping people from reposting it on other websites, but Dan Povenmire himself encouraged me to put it back up. He said some really encouraging words to me, and while he said he was not allowed to read it, he did enjoy the art I had posted.
So the story will go back up, PnF and all, within time. There will not be a sequel written for it, unfortunately, and I still want it to become an Imagination Jumpstart story eventually, but with Dan backing me up to a certain degree, that and I really do love the story, I will repost it for those who have enjoyed it so far.
And maybe even post a new contest. I think a few months was a good time off for a while. I've grown a thicker skin so while there are those who don'T like it, and while I am still unhappy with a lot of my writing, This was a preciou
