What did one damsel......say to the other damsel?
- Pass the pocketknife when you're done, eh?
- Did they try the Upper Arm Grab on you too? Man, what a bunch of nerds.
- Hang on, I'll just finish twittering...
- This trunk is surprisingly roomy.
- Man, this is some cheap tape this guy is using.
- Look, swiping a couple of uniforms and sneaking in by pretending to be newly-hired maids seemed like a good idea at the time. When are you going to stop giving me the silent treatment?
- OMG, I am TOTALLY crushing on our captor! Don't give me that look, I saw him first.
- Wait, is that bomb timer on a 12 or 24 hour clock?
- Argh! I can't get a single bar down here! Stupid discount cell plan...
- Why? Why did I opt out of gymnastics in high school?!?
- Geh. Ever since Daddy won the lottery, it's just been Kidnapping after Kidnapping, day in, day out...
- And yet, all I can think of is that essay that's due tomorrow I haven't even started yet.
- Okay, so when he comes back, I'LL distract him with the Puppy Eyes rout

"Sacre bleu! What an amazing artistic achievement!"
"Oh, yes--this work here in the center is so lifelike!"
"Ah, the subject is apparently the artist herself," the tour guide said. "No doubt, this piece expresses the struggles of the artist and the stifling by society."
"Mmmmph!" Celine shrieked through the wad of canvas that had been shoved in her mouth, as well as the thick strip of canvas that had been bound tightly around her head, sealing it in.
"This display has a sound feature," the guide remarked, unfazed by the sounds of struggling and muffled screams coming from the display case. "Ms. Dvorak has been known for her use of robotics within her works, though this is no doubt her best work yet. You can hear the artist's cries, but her words are stifled and never reach the masses."
"Brilliant!" said one man.
"Inspired!" one of the women commented. "As an art critic, I rarely see such inventiveness."
"Help!" Celine cried. "The real sculpture was sto
Bella Jade's Taped Meeting"Overall I was really impressed with what you sent me," Danielle said, leafing the corner of the manuscript on her desk with her thumb. "Your writing style is slick with some lovely descriptive language. The story and plot is very compelling, and I love how you made yourself the protagonist, as if you were experiencing these events first hand."Bella Jade's Taped Meeting2 years ago in Short Stories

"Someone once told me it stretched the believability of the story by having myself as the central character," Bella Jade replied, the encouraging words of the literary agent sitting across the desk making her heart beat faster.
"I'm glad you ignored them. I think it makes the reader more sympathetic, and consequently more interested, towards your situation. It's a very solid draft, and with a few tweaks here and there it can be very good indeed."
Bella stared happily at the literary agent as she looked up from her notes. She liked Danielle, with her youthful enthusiasm

The young black woman was frantically looking around as she waited for the call to go through. "Please be there... please be there..." Hearing footsteps, she ducked deeper into the shadows, trying to make herself invisible. "C'mon, be there and pick up..." she muttered, a mantra that was fast becoming a prayer. Four rings later, the voice mail engaged. She rolled her dark brown eyes, exasperated but not surprised. She's probably tied up somewhere... and with my luck, I'm about to join her, she thought.
"Sissy, it's me. I need you to bring Jim and as many of his friends as you can. My boss -- mmmph!" Her whispered message was abruptly cut off by the application of a soft wet cloth over her mouth and nose, the phone wrenched from her hand. As the pungent fumes began to fill her nostrils and scramble her mental processes, she fought desperately to get the sweet-smelling thing off her face. But her attacker was too strong, and
Rescue-A-Day, '08 - 01Struggling to make herself comfortable, Robyn glanced for the thousandth time at the door. It hadn't reopened since they had thrown her in here, but the knowledge that they might return and...threaten her again terrified her all by itself. The sturdy wooden door, bolted from the outside, seemed to loom larger than it should, pregnant with promised malice.Rescue-A-Day, '08 - 015 years ago in Scraps

She growled and sobbed feebly, writhing in terror, but her wrists and ankles had been tied with skill, and cruelly tight. Her embroidered qipao of golden silk was scuffed and wrinkled from her rough handling, and her light hose weren't doing much better. Amazingly, she hadn't lost her shoes, though her elaborate bun had come undone, loosing waves of jet black hair in disarray over frightened blue eyes and a heavy cloth gag. A gag that was heavy and firm enough that she didn't think anyone would hear her scream, even if she dared.
The evening had started so well. Not only had her modeling agency landed the contract for the fashion show
A True hero"MPFFF!" Caz struggled to make herself heard but the chances were slim. She was bound and gagged, the ropes encircled her body in bands from her upper arms to her ankles and a blue bandana, which clashed with her long, pink dress, was tied in her mouth, muffling her cries for help. She had been placed on the railway tracks as an incentive to accept an unwanted marriage proposal, though Caz was not exactly being cooperative.A True hero2 years ago in Stories & Vignettes

"Time's nearly up, my pretty!" The dastardly villain stood over Caz, laughing evilly. "If you won't be mine then no one else can have you!"
"MPFFF!" Caz shot him a contemptuous look and carried on straining against the ropes, trying to get free. A glance up the tracks showed the train was approaching and she only had seconds left!
"Well, goodbye then Caz; sorry to do this to you but you leave me no choice." The villain turned and walked straight into David's fist, knocking himsel

Kitty Moore peered around the corner. No one in sight for the entire length of the corridor, so she moved quietly to the first door. The lovely black woman was not exactly dressed for stealth in a semi-transparent blue blouse (through which her black-and-white checkerboard bra was clearly visible), a black skirt so short and snug it could almost be mistaken for hot pants, and four-inch black pumps, but then she enjoyed being the center of attention. It was one of the reasons she had found her way into this line of work.
She carefully turned the doorknob. Locked. On to the next one, then. Kitty continued to look forward and back as she proceeded down the hallway, her long blue-black hair (half of which had been wound into tiny braids, the other half loose) whipping with each quick glance. The second doorknob didn't budge, either, but the third one did. She opened it an inch or two, scanning the room through the sliver of daylight. No sign of anyone
