tldr: Learn how to post edit. Don't rely on actions developed by others and don't pay for them. Develop your own actions. Resources to help you along the way are all over the internet.
I recently released two Photoshop Actions, Bohemian Sundance and Parisian Rain, available for download for free on my website JFotography: http://jfotography.yolasite.com
Photoshop Actions, along with GIMP scripts, and other scripted, systematic, post editing procedures, can be very useful for professional photographers who have to edit a large number of photos in a short period of time. They are also useful for quickly surveying a large number of potential post editing routes, say if you want to go for a vintage feel, bring out
Prepping for the prepHello hello hello my gorgeous pancakeprinces and pretzelprincesses! I am Yewrezz and today I am going to tell you, my dear cakes filled with awesomeness, something about pre-prepping.Prepping for the prep8 months ago in Deviant Events More Like This
We all know the term "prepping", as it is what we all need to do to make a horse look believable in a background where it doesn't originally belong. However, like I've noticed with chemistry, you might find it hard to know where to even start all this.
How do you get the most out of your stock image? In this tutorial I will try to do just that with the stock I choose. For some of you pre-prepping might sound like wasting precious time, but if you would really like to give your manipulation just that last hint of uniqueness... I would suggest reading on!
Tools I used: Photoshop CS3, basic knowledge in photoshop. Horse stock by fillyrox, background stocks by RiNymph-Stock and LucieG-StockIf you do have questions in where you can find some of the tools I mentioned,

(Before using stock, check the rules on the artist's page to verify that they have not changed. )If you have an unrestricted stock account and would like to be included in the list above, all the images in your account must be unrestricted.
I found it interesting disclose. I took this information here:

GBD vs HomophobiaHello, all, and welcome to my anti-homophobia/anti-anti-gay Journal, where I will attempt to come up with a factual argument for as many anti-gay arguments as I can. It's a choice!
When did you choose to be straight? Did you wake up one morning and say 'today I'm going to like the opposite gender!' And who would choose to go through the amount of stress LGBT people go through? Bullying, hatred, etc? And even if it was a choice, so what? People choose to be assholes and yet they can get married.
Hundreds of animal species exhibit homosexuality.
And you know what else is unnatural? Cars. Vaccines. Fact

Daz Studio 4 Map Transfer Mini TutorialThe process is fairly simple. You load the desired texture on to Genesis in Daz Studio 4 (in which ever form, V5, M5 etc) Then under the 'Surfaces' Tab, select the icon in the top left corner of the window. Scroll down to Map Transfer. On the top left of the new window where it says 'Template' right click in the box area. Click 'New Template'. On the right side of the window is a list of the surfaces your current 3d model has. Daz have been very helpful here as they have numbered the relevant parts of the map that belong together. So it is then a process of Shift+Left Click each map region in turn. Once you have the whole group selected left click and drag them over to the Template1 that you created. Then change the 'Target UV Map to M4. You will need to have the Template1 selected to alter the 'Template Options' in the lower part of the window. I would advise a quality of 10, and dimensions of 4096. Then select an output directory. Here I would create yourself a dummy runtime in the PDaz Studio 4 Map Transfer Mini Tutorial2 years ago in Personal More Like This

Abstraction indicates a departure from reality in depiction of imagery in art, uses a visual language of form, color and line. Understanding of abstract art takes an open mind and imagination - there is no right or wrong answer to the question "What do you see", it's always open to interpretation. What makes people uneasy while looking at an abstract artwork is that they can't say automatically what is the art about, some might even assume that the artist must be lacking skill when choosing to paint abstract pieces instead of reality. Also, these compositions sometimes look so simple that it's easy to assume anyone could do it. However, give it a try, you'll see that to create an elegant and powerful abstract composition takes much more than meets the eye.
Let's enjoy a few abstract artworks in different media

How I watercolor with little artistic knowledgeHow I watercolor with little artistic knowledge6 months ago in Personal More Like This
Welcome to my journal! Main reason I'm doing this is to test out a cool CSS thing! Because I love to waste time like that. But then, since I have not made a WIP journal in a while, I thought, "why not? Especially since I realized I have never done a painting WIP series, only for my splatter ink ones. Now I see why - when you're working with watercolor, everything dries so fast!
Even so, here it is! I'm going to try to give some hints or tips, especially for beginners. But first thin you should know is that I don't work professionally. At all. I'm really messy and I'm always covered in ink afterwards. Furthermore, as seen above, I have to edit my paintings a bit before I post them, because I don't have a scanner. Generally, I take photographs during the day, when I can get the best lighting.
I hope you enjoy! Feel free to ask any more questions in the comments!
Before you watercolor, good things to have on hand:
Paintbrushes - many sizes; soft ones are the best, in my
5 Tips for Smartphone PhotographyThey're getting more and more popular, so what is the best way of utilising the camera on your Smartphone to ensure you get the best results possible? This article shares some fantastic tips that offer a few guidelines for capturing good images with your phone. If you've got a top tip that you think is useful please share it in the comments as well - this list is by no means finished!5 Tips for Smartphone Photography8 months ago in Art Features More Like This
1) Clean Your Lens!
Unlike 'Proper' cameras, we're not overly precious about our smartphones. They go in and out of pockets and get left on all sorts of surfaces a lot of the time. Depending on the phone you have, you may be pressing your fingers into the lens whilst making a call without even realising it. So to get the best results, ensure your lens is cleaned regularly.
As with all photographs, composition is key. However you don't get much in the way of editing allowance after you've taken a photograph on your phone. You can chang

Fantastic Stock and Where to find it - Feature 9 Ive been making a collection of some of the brilliant stock artists works that I have come across. It started off as stock I cant provide myself so I look for other peoples so I can suggest them. The way I choose is quite odd, when I see a stock image I have an instant image in my head of what I could do or create out of that piece of stock. The image also has to be crystal clear and easily altered.Fantastic Stock and Where to find it - Feature 93 years ago in Art Features More Like This

In our last poll we asked about your use of Twitter in promoting your Prints. Well, the community has spoken and a number of you have asked for some tips on how to better use Twitter to promote your work. So, we've put together some tips for you on how to leverage the Twitter platform in marketing yourself.
Twitter is different from dA, facebook, and tumblr in a number of ways. Perhaps the most important is brevity. Most tweets live and die in a matter of minutes. The vast majority of tweets die in the first hour. Also, you only have 140 characters to say what you want. So how the heck are you gonna use this thing to market your prints?
Here is a list of things that we've found to be massively helpful.

How To Give Better Comments
During our visit here at deviantART, upon submitting our deviations, what is expected next? Comments! However, here's a little fun past-time activity: take all the excellent, if not better, deviations comments in your gallery. Now take a look at all the deviation comments you've ever received. You will notice that good comments don't happen as often as they should. Although we all want good comments and to be better commenters ourselves, we have to act upon it instead of just sitting around and hoping to receiving nice comments after submitting something. Give, to receive.
Here I show you the basic concept of commenting, to make yourself a better commenter; and I don't mean being a 'good' commenter since everyone comments in his or her own way. That i

Inspiration: Art websitesMany people asked me about which sites I use (or used) to learn and keep myself updated about art. So I decided to make a list with art websites that offer tutorials, advice, or other content that inspired me. Of course there are many other individual artists that inspire me greatly, but I've tried to keep this list to the ones that provide the community of advice and tutorials (otherwise I could go on forever).Inspiration: Art websites1 week ago in Art Features More Like This
