Update from DD-Catalogue FounderDear All,Update from DD-Catalogue Founder10 months ago in Personal More Like This
Thank you for 'watching' DD-Catalogue, and for all your support over the last 4 years. You may have noticed that the group has recently lost super group status. I'd like to apologise for the disruption this has caused to our Gallery and homepage. I'd also like to apologise for the lack of updates and features recently. I have neglected the group somewhat during my university study.
...but I'm planning a revamp to make it better than ever!
I would appreciate it if you could give me some feedback in the comments on some of the following:
What do you like most about DD-Catalogue?
What would you like to see from DD-Catalogue? (features/interviews/polls ??)
Would you donate a small amount towards Super Group status?
Would you like to be on the admin team?
Thanks for reading,
Add this Journal to your 'favourites' if we have your support in bringing DD-Catalogue back to life!

These include my thoughts on there overall work they choosen, or there overall gallery. I didn't want to just throw a bunch of thumbs, up here. I wanted to get dig deeper.
This was really fun for me I didn't think I'd get so many people though that's why I broke it up into two segments. I love sharing the love, of other artists. I really enjoy this, so I look forward to making more and others posting and encouring others to check out these features and comment, and fav, and interact with there fellow artists. This is not only encouraging people to visit and look at other people they have never seen before, this is also encouraging comments on there work as well. Even when you think your short comment won't mean anything, It does mean something to somebody who doesn't get a lot of coments. Thank you for your entries STAY tuned for the second segement! Coming Soon next week or the week before next.

Friday Feature!! :D [Delayed]Well, like I said a week+ ago, I had my final project review this Friday.Friday Feature!! :D [Delayed]3 years ago in Personal More Like This
And I aced it !! Graduation complete. I'm officially an I.T. engineer now [and everything that entails].
Anyway, my plan was to get back that evening and make a quick feature, but the things were way too energetic and exciting to actually let me do anything but run around screaming and having fun.
That. Spent a crazy weekend. And I'm never drinking again. This time for good... I hope.
DO NOT GIVE ME 'that's what they all say' >_

My 2013 FavoritesHello dear watchers and friends,My 2013 Favorites1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
I hope everyone of you have a wonderful holiday time and have a good start in the new year.
I had a nice time with my family and some of my best friends. Tomorrow the "real world" have us again in their greedy claws so I decide to remind myself of really great works of 2013. I started with training basics, before I come back with commercial works.

This account is owned and operated by one male user with the assistance of a bot. I am an Astronautical Engineer residing in California, USA. I will gladly answer any space-related questions you may have, although my experience is mostly limited to the design and construction of satellites.
I have been programming since high school; my programming language of choice is Java.
About the Program
This is an unofficial account and is not affiliated with deviantART.
The program running the day-to-day operations on this account is written in Java. As of July 2012, the program handles all routine operations. All questions and other unique requests are handled by the human operator.
The bot works by automating what a human typically does such as logging on/off, reading/interpreting content, loading/storing data from/into a database, sending replies to comments/notes, updating profile page content areas, etc.

Photo Manipulation FeatureHi all,Photo Manipulation Feature8 months ago in Personal More Like This
Time for another feature! Seems it has been ages since I've done one on photo manipulations! I've slowly been working my way through a bunch of different genres.
Things got a bit distracted with my hard drive dying and going through the process of getting a new computer, which was further confounded by a bout of food poisoning (or something very akin to it) that left me wiped. But despite the troubles I had getting to Solla Sollew, and battling green pants with nothing inside them (random Seuss references for the heck of it), I'm finally getting back on track.

psychophysics-art scienceArchimedes makes some interesting calculations and experiments along the way. One of the experiments considers the angular diameter of the Sun as seen from Earth. His method is particularly interesting as it is probably the first known example of experimentation in Psychophysics, a branch of psychology that deals with the mechanisms of human perception and whose development is generally attributed to Hermann von Chelmcholts (the work of Archimedes is little known in psychology).psychophysics-art science7 months ago in Personal More Like This

Alex Levac: the Israeli experience"I don't take a lot of pictures." Levac says. "I see things as though through a sieve. The choice of a specific moment is mine. I enjoy photography. It forces me to look at marginal things as well. There are wonderful situations where the photographic potential is enormous, and pictures truly leap to the eye, but most pictures are obtained by hard and patient work. I would like all my pictures to be great, full of historical, social, and anthropological meaning, but very few reach that level. Many times the result is simply anecdotal, visual amusements, the justaposition of bits of reality that usually are not connected to one another. Some are complex, others are simple, but they always tell something about us."Alex Levac: the Israeli experience1 year ago in Personal More Like This

Enhorabuena: ¡cuánto talento!Es un chorro cósmico de placer entrar todos los días a este grupo.Enhorabuena: ¡cuánto talento!2 years ago in Personal More Like This

Of Art and Science: Welcome to the intersection."The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious — the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and true science." — Albert EinsteinOf Art and Science: Welcome to the intersection.2 months ago in Personal More Like This
The words 'art and science', 'sci-art', and 'the intersection of science and art' are often to be heard in arts circles right now. Revolving around the interplay between artistic and scientific interpretations of ideas, art and science collaborations are very much on the rise. However, the bond between art and science is far from new; the boundaries between art and science are - and always have been - porous and diaphanous. Both science and art use imagination and creativity to develop ideas and explore the world. Both are questioning, inventive disciplines. Art and science collaborations are seen as new because we have come to perceive the arts and sciences as enclosed and separate. But if this hasn’t always been the case… how did the idea of a barrier between them com

Why people pick on scienceRecently, right-wing conservatives jumped on what they thought was a juicy, hilarious story of government waste - that "$400,000 in tax money" went to "measuring duck penises."Why people pick on science2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Meanwhile, record numbers of people are choosing not to vaccinate their children, convinced that vaccines either do little to help or are even responsible for rising frequencies of autism.
You may have also noticed my back-and-forth with someone who actually believes that the whole of human industry and technology - which has changed our planet more severely than any natural process ever documented - has no noticeable impact on atmospheric conditions and climate as a whole.
What do all of these things have in common?
They're all symptoms of the same petty defiance disorder and gross misunderstanding of the scientific world.
The average person has positively no clue what the very word "science" truly even stands for, what "scientific community" refers to, how peer review works, how research is conducted, h
