A dear friend and amazing traditional artist :iconana-lesac: started a movement recently about exposing underrated traditional art and artists!
She says : "Don't get me wrong, I love and admire every kind of art, but I think that it's not fair that non-traditional artists (photographs, digital-art...) have waaaay more attention here on DA than us. I love their art, but I wanna be recognised, too."
I think she is right , and im here to spread her voice, and to help this movement and to promote the lovely traditional artists!

Two weeks ago I got the go ahead from Clive Barker to begin sculpting "Christopher Carrion" a character from ABARAT! It's a great feeling of excitement. I am very grateful for this project as I've been a fan of Clive's work since childhood. If you haven't read ABART you must! I purchased it from ITunes (audio book) and I will have to say Clive has only gotten better! This series is absolutely stunning. His ability to take you on a visionary adventure is one of a kind. A true master. Clive has also asked me to sculpt some of his original drawingsI am overwhelmed with joy for this. My creative epicenter is a powerhouse at the moment, so having said that, it's back to the studio for me! Stay tuned for more on this project...Here are some progress pics thus far. Cheers

Some years ago I was studying the sketches and paintings of a great artist in the Western genre, Charles Russell. I think Russell was in his late 'teens or early twenties when he began seriously and steadily exercising his Art gift. The first images were crude and hardly hinted at the genius Russell would exhibit in pencil, paint, and clay taken from images of life in those days in Montana - cowboys, Blackfoot native Americans. A comparison can be made here with the growth and development with another artist whose career began relatively late - Vincent Van Gogh.
Though there are distinctions we could observe between these personalities, the most important thing they had in common was a world-view - [Weltensicht] - that both were compelled to express.
