Mortal Instruments Idol Jace lounged on the couch, flicking through the channels. He heard Isabelle's voice from the shower, and like always it rung perfectly with the music that faintly played along with her. He was annoyed that Isabelle could sing like that, and more annoyed that it was in the shower of all places.
There had been ads across town for American Idol and Jace had mulled over the idea of getting Isabelle in the competition. He wanted to show her he could sing also and maybe get the smug winning of her crying. It took a lot of stress to get her to lash out and cry.
The shower died off and Isabelle padded out and across the living room, into her bedroom and shutting the door. There was rummaging around and she immerged several minutes later in Fancy sweat pants and a tight tank. She plopped down on the couch beside him, grabbing the remote from Jace's hands and changing the channel to Australia's Next Top Model. She sunk down slightly, ripping the remote i

The loud drumming of her heart drowned out her ears. She had been standing outside the weapons room for over twenty minutes just wondering what he would think and how to tell him. He'll leave me, she thought, or worse he'll tell me to get rid of it. The girl knew her mind was running away with her. He would never say those things but still she couldn't help but wonder. Jace was about to leave for a route sweep of the sewers. They had be some activity there but still nothing had been showing up. This could possibly be the worst time to someone this but she had to do it. Even with that being said the door handle seemed to move away from her telling her to leave, this of course was just her mind playing tricks again, and she started to think of when he and asked her to marry him.

It had all started when Jace was lounging on the sofa, bored. B. O. R. E. D
The day before they had kicked some demon ass and therefore, the next day was a free one, where they could do anything they wanted. And besides making out with his girlfriend, he couldn't think of anything amazing he could do.
And with the demon count quite low at the moment, he had a lot of free time at the moment. So, what did one do with such freedom? Have a house party of course.
- Later -
The house party hadn't turned out quite as well as he wanted. It mainly consisted of a bored looking Isabelle flipping through a gossip magazine on the large sofa, beside her sat Maia, who was playing with a braid, her combat covered feet propped up on the arms of the sofa while her hand was stuffed in the bowl of ready salted crisps.

The only feeling Clary could show in the past few weeks was pain. Unbearable pain.
She hasnt been able to help him. Him. Jace. Her father killed the love of her love and she didnt help him. Now he was gone and wouldnt come back. Never.
Clary knew that Jace wouldnt want her to think like that but she couldnt stop herself since the day the numbness faded and her mind became clear again.
It had been a sunny day and a small breeze let the other shadowhunters on Clarys side smile though you could see the grief in their eyes.
Clary didnt smile. She wasnt even sure if she could ever again.
It was Isabelle. She was standing behind Clary, carefully taking her hand, squeezing it lightly. Slowly Clary turned her head to face Jaces stepsister. She had dark rings under her eyes, which Clary never noticed on her before. It seemed like she hadnt slept that well either. Isabelle opened her mouth as if

This is a week after Jace and Clary meet at Taki's and Jace tells her that he only want to be her brother.
Sitting in Luke's spare room on the bed, looking at her finished drawing, a stab of pain twists through her abdomen, she leans over the bed glad that she hasn't eaten anything and also glad Jace isn't here he'd make a fuss over her keeping quiet about being sick, 'Stop thinking about him' She chastised herself, this is the second time today, as she finished leaning over the bed the shrieking sound of the telephone rings, hoping it's not Jace again.

"Yes" Clary called back as she walks into the lounge room where mom and Luke are.
"I'm not here, I don't want to talk to him" Clary whispered, shaking her head, hoping he didn't hear her.

Every night i've spent recovering since then has been spent like this one; lying in my bed thinking about him, about Jace. My sketchpad's still in my hands too, and everytime it is the angel atop the skyscraper that captivates me. It mesmorises me. Night after night i sit here til the early hours of the morning and imagine how he looks like sleeping, what he dreams of... and then i think of the logical things like 'he's thinking about the waitress' or deciding on which number to call first; the sexy blonde who smiled or that girl he winked at on the train. It pains me every time, but it will help cure this thing i feel... wont it?

Clary smiled happily and kissed him back greedily while pulling him close to her. He ran his tongue over her lips for entrance. She allowed him and they each battled for dominance while exploring each other's mouths. He pushed his hand to her lower back while she started to play with his golden tresses.
Before they knew it Jace pulled her down and was breathing heavily, he pulled away from her lips and said, "If we continue we'd better go to my room before people start watching us. Unless you want to see me out in the sunlight, shirtless, like Edward Cullen. I'll even get out my own glitter and dance in it," he laughed.
She had also laughed at his comment.

The two girls stared at each other with pure hate in their eyes. But before any of them could speak, there was a crowd of pale but extremely beautiful people coming towards them.
'Alice are you all right?' The one with the brown hair said.
'Yeah, I'm fine.' Alice said through perfect gritted teeth.
'Yeah, you're fine now, but you won't be when I've finished with you! I've been searching for a top like that for ages!' Isabelle shouted.
I ran up to Izzy, Jace not far behind. 'Hey Izzy, calm down. I'm sure there are others, I mean you could always borrow it from Magnus.'
Izzy crossed her arms 'No way, if it hadn't of been for her then it wouldn't have happened in the first place.'
Alice looked calm but not as though she wanted to be, a blonde person came up to her and took her hand. Then the bronze one, and possibly the most gorgeous one, came in front of us.

I looked up and Izzy had her hands grasped tightly around a violet garment with another girl who was holding onto it just as tight.
'Cat fight.' Jace said, he was standing next to me with the most huge smile on his face.
'Do you think we should help her?' I asked, although I knew what was coming.
'What over a stupid top? No let's get the authorities they'll know what to do.' He said in his usual sarcastic voice.
I slapped his arm. 'Shut up.'
I turned back to the tug-of war between Izzy and the other girl, she was pale and by the looks of it very strong.
Then there was a tremendous ripping sound.
Both girls had the same shocked expression in their eyes which soon turned to anger.
'Now look what you've done!' Izzy screamed.
'I didn't do anything! You did it!' The other girl whined.

"I'm fine." Clary heard Isabelle laugh as she pulled her stele out from her boot. "What?" she asked.
"You. You've sustained a nearly fatal injury and yet you still want to convince everyone that you're fine. It's alright to feel pain, we won't think you're weak." Izzy pulled Clary's shirt up higher to expose the part of her back that had been injured. "It looks like it's healing pretty well." Jace allowed his eyes to look at Clary's bare skin and he cringed.
