WritersInk Interviews - DisrhythmicAn Interview with DisrhythmicWritersInk Interviews - Disrhythmic3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
This community thrives on contributions from its members - and no-one gives more love to the group than our Writer of the Month. We asked February's featured writer, disrhythmic, a few questions. Read on to discover a guilty secret about Stepenie Meyer (author of Twilight), what a thirteen year old's novel looks like, and how Dizzy likes to keep her hands busy.
When we featured disrhythmic at the start of February, we had this to say:
disrhythmic is a consistently active deviant who not only tunes into our regular roundups, but also gets through a lot of word-miles in the gallery, too. The WritersInk admins can rest a little easier knowing that there are people like her out there, giving encouragement and love to our members and making this group a really great place to be.
One thing we will say for disrhythmic is that she's a fantastic prose writer. The

So you want to do commissions? Part I - StartingGreetings everyone. I was asked to make a news article at one point about how should one go about taking commissions, and I decided to do one better. I'm going to make a short series of them, broken up into several parts. I state for the record, that I am not an expert by any means, nor that what I tell you is absolutely, positively, 100% the correct way to do things. These articles are guides that will hopefully help you get started and beyond as you find your way.So you want to do commissions? Part I - Starting6 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Part I, this article, deals with an artist who is starting out to take commissions. Future articles will cover what to expect from their clients, what the clients should expect from you, how to protect yourself, how a client should protect themselves, and anything else that people suggest. I know not everyone will agree with these articles, but please, if you don't agree, make suggestions so that others can see some alternatives.

Apparel Collection: Raining IdeasIt’s so exciting when you’re in Creative Mode, and the ideas are just flowing out of you. It’s almost electric how one idea can spark the next and the next, and you’re creating as fast as your body can keep up. Don't hold it back! I created this shirt to shout from the clouds that it’s okay to let the ideas well up and storm onto your media! Share your ideas with your team, and let your collaborations really fill your mind and canvas with a deluge of output.Apparel Collection: Raining Ideas2 years ago in Personal More Like This
This illustration started with the intention of making a cute cloud into an energetic storm. I wanted the cloud to have the contour of a brain so the importance of the mind in the brainstorming process would be prevalent at first glance. The preliminary sketchbook drawings in ballpoint pen were a mix of adorable thunderheads and raining brains. Experimenting with the placement of the eyes and the shape of the cloud was fun. It was harder than I expected to get the sizes right and actually make the brai

This is NOT directed towards people who have general opinions (go ahead, have em'). This is a response to some of the recent EXTREME attitudes that I've seen around here and Tumblr. If you don't like candid opinions, please click here. You will not be disappointed.
It's probably more in defense of TTGO than BTB, since I've seen more people grumble about that show. Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go are not the same show. Let's get that straight out. It's not a continuation, it is a variation. If you can understand that, then maybe it will be less painful for you.
Teen Titans Go may not be your cup of tea, it might irritate you, it might even make you mad. Boycotting DC Nation because you want to stick it to those CN an

Megatron's scene was done so well, ahhh!! I love that the sword....his Decepticon badge....broken....ahhhh that really got me and I started crying. Also the way his mind didn't register that he wasn't still holding his sword, like, he's still ready to keep fighting when suddenly it hits him that, "WHOA. awdamn, I'm dead" and then I cry some more. But yeah, I loved to death all the MegaStar love that episode gave me. The heartbreak on Star's face that said, "I've wanted you dead all my life, but now that you're gone I can't live without you." It was really touching and extremely beautiful and sad.
but but! I SUPER LOVE that Bee was the one to..."do the honors." Like, heck with Optimus Prime. He's always hogging the spotlight. He's always fighting Megatron. He's never going to actually kill him because they're truthfully tiny tiny adorable friends. If Megatron was ever going to die, it would have had to be at someone else's hand.
and ahhhhahahaa Knockout. "I'm a

1/3 cup unsweetened soy milk
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup unscented liquid bubble bath
Heat (but do not boil) the soy milk and cocoa powder and stir until blended. Let cool.
Add the bubble bath and stir.
Pour the entire batch into the tub. Enjoy!
Anti-Zit Face Mask
1 Tbsp. cruelty-free baking soda
1-2 Tbsp. filtered water
Mix the baking soda and water together until you've got a paste.
Apply to your face and leave on for about 20 minutes.
Rinse and follow with your favorite toner and moisturizer.
1 aspirin tablet (contains salicylic acid, which helps unclog pores)
Crush the aspirin with the back of a spoon and add just enough water to form a paste. Apply to the blemishes and let sit for about 15 minutes before rinsing.
Another spot treatment trick is to take a dab of cruelty-free toothpaste (the white paste kind, not the gel), and apply it to blemishes. Leave on overnight. This will dry out zits quickly.

Knowing He is Not Guilty...Knowing He is Not Guilty...1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
When I was in fifth grade,
a man followed my brother home.
I remember being on the computer
in the office right by the front door.
At first, it was a frantic knock.
My brother and his seventh grade friends
were quickly getting off their bikes,
my brother telling me to open the door.
I took my time getting up,
thinking they had forgotten their keys.
claiming to be neighborhood watch,
followed my brother and his friends home.
He saw them playing tag on their bicycles
on their own school campus,
yelled at them for trespassing,
threatening to call the cops,
and when no police arrived
he decided to take matters into his own hands.
He followed them home.
In his car.
He tailed them, but they saw him.
They tried to avoid him,
but when they got home
he pulled up and got out of his car
and ran up to our front door.
Our front door.
He came to our front door.
He followed them all the way home
and came up to our front door.

I'm really not interested in who favourites my stuff, especially when they don't comment.
It's like "Oh, I have 56 messages!". Nope! Someone just fav'd half my gallery and left me a pointless llama!
Also, favourite this journal, because apparently you can do that now.
PS. I hate what you've done to my journal. The style doesn't match the rest of my page now.
PS2. Make polls a non-subscriber feature plz, cause they're free on Facebook, and they're really the only useful feature subscribers get anyway. If you guys aren't making enough money off ads and prints, then you're doing it wrong.
Edit: Since this journal's gotten polular, I'll add some more daring suggestions...
PS3. Get rid of journal CSS skins, or at least let me disable them. Inconsistancy is bad site design, and this really puts me off reading journals by other people.
PS4. Fix your file directories so Flash games don't lose their s
You ever get mad at your fandom?Well… in my case, not mad, but more… perplexed? You ever get mad at your fandom?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I normally don't post stuff like this, but I think it's actually very important. This is in regards to this post that has the original posting http://kitsuneverse.blogspot.com/2012/11/cosplaytony-harris-rants-on-female.html. (Very interesting points from the responder, kistuneverse!)
I've seen a huge backlash against Harris, but also a backlash against guys in general in the fandom. I don't think it helps anyone if we categorize fanboys as a collective. Not all guys/fanboys/geeks/nerds/casual observers are the same, and casually lumping them together seems counterproductive.
I mean, it's awesome that we're talking about this notion against the female side of the fandom, as it does exist and does needs recognition, but talking to these fanboys as if they're a singular entity is exactly what that Tony Harris dude is doing in regards to female cosplayers and the female fandom in general. If you, male or female, actually believe that he speak

Shonen Jump's Manga Award - Safe To Enter?A serious caution for all aspiring manga artists, concerning Shonen Jump's Manga award. If you're planning to enter, or your friend is planning to enter, forward them to this journal.Shonen Jump's Manga Award - Safe To Enter?1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Shonen Jump is currently running a manga competition at https://mangaaward.shonenjump.com/en
As a whole, Shonen Jump, who in all other respects is my favourite 'comic' magazine, is great. They've steered clear of major controversy, they try to publish non-offensive, youth-friendly material, and they try and pull together great creative teams and talent and produce some of the world's most famous series. It's really cool of them to open up their competition to international audiences...
So the basic spin of the competition that Shonen Jump is running is dazzling. Manga artists and enthusiasts from all over the world are invited to submit their work, the only requirements being page size and appropriate penmanship. Anyone can enter. There are three categories, one is Japanese, one is English, one is

Thank you all for coming here this evening. I have a brief statement to make... Please bear with me...
In light of recent events in the news, I've decided to come forward -- and confess that-- I have used Performance Enhancers throughout my career-- in order to obtain an advantage. It was mostly my own choice, although-- my father did start me out at a very early age-- by passing on his talent to me. All along the way, in addition to lots of diligent study on my own-- I did enlist the opinion of others as far as my development, and I supplemented this growth with inspiration from various professional artists and filmmakers, the instruction by great teachers at the Hig

It's a story about ( you know it from the picture ) HiJack, Hiccup and Jack. Please don't forget to comment. BYE
Hiccup was a short boy who was in the Berk High School. It was same with the other high schools. Populers, nerds, bullies and something like these things. Hiccup wasn't any of them. He wasn't populer like Jack Frost, he was unimportant. He wasn't a nerd, he hated school. He was not a bully, he was thin.

Zelda: Spirit Tracks reviewWell, I recently played Phantom Hourglass, so this was obviously next on the list.Zelda: Spirit Tracks review3 years ago in Personal More Like This
First of all, a lot of the problems I had with the first game were fixed up a bit. The controls have been tidied up (rolling especially is easier) and the GUI looks much nicer (maps are more colourful and accurate). The plot and music are also much more memorable than before. Phantom Hourglass felt like a crappy handheld version of Wind Waker in many ways, but in Spirit Tracks I didn't feel that way, probably since it's a new generation of characters and a new style of travel.
I also really like how Zelda is finally a useful character. Couldn't stop thinking of the team as Ed and Al from Full Metal Alchemist. Zelda's a true bro, right down to the final battle. Toon Zelda better be playable in the next Smash Brothers.
Also, that magic wand you get was a fun item.
Anyhow, despite the improvements, plenty of new problems were introduced. Spirit Tracks uses the microphone a lot more than Phantom Hourglass, w
