Lord of the Elements PREVIEWAvatar: Lord of the Elements
In a world where there are four Nations, the elegant Water Tribes, the stubborn Earth Kingdom, the peaceful Air Nomads, and the powerful Fire Nation, a chosen few in those Nations have the ability to bend the element of their Nation, water, earth, air, or fire.
Many years ago each Nation lived in peace with one another. But the new ruler of the Fire Nation wishes to destroy all the other Nations in order to rule the whole world. He has not succeeded, but has caused all other Nations to live in fear and chaos. The only way for the Fire Lord to destroy all other Nations is from the power of the ring. There is a legend of a ring that makes the owner's bending ten times more powerful and a non bender undefeatable. It has not been found. Until now.
Aang, a simple air bender from the Air Nomads, discovers he has something that the Fire Nation seeks, the ring. The Dark Fire Lord Ozai will stop at nothing to get what he wishes. Zuko, from the Fire Nation, i

Zuko waited anxiously in the waiting room of the health center in his palace for his wife to give birth to his heir, his child. He could never stay still for too long though, he got up and started pacing the floor, a frown on his brow. Why is it taking so long? Surely it shouldn't have taken this long? I wonder if something happened to the baby. The young Fire Lord thought.
Just then a nurse came out of the room. She had a smile on her face but there was sadness in her eyes. Zuko stopped pacing and straightened to his full height.
"It's a healthy girl." The old nurse told him.
Zuko's face brightened and he smiled. But something was wrong. Why did the nurse look so upset? He cleared his throat.
The nurse dabbed a napkin to her misty eyes. "I'm sorry Fire Lord, but I'm afraid the Fire Lady is fading fast. I don't think she's going to make it."
It felt like Zuko's very blood froze inside him and his heart stopped beating. He was in shock. This couldn't be happening to hi

Korra gasped, like she had just resurfaced from water after staying under for too long. She was breathing heavily and her heart pounded in her chest. She tore off her mask and looked around frantically.
"Korra," She look to her right and saw Mako coming to kneel next to her.
"Bolin?" She gasped, still having difficulty catching her breath.
Mako nodded his head forward and Korra looked to her left and saw Bolin curled up on the ground sleeping. "He's been sleeping. We wouldn't leave you."
Korra stared at Bolin's sleeping body confused. "Sleeping? But I was only gone for a few minutes."
Mako stared wide eyed at her and blinked a few times. "Korra," he said slowly, "It's almost dawn."
"Dawn?" Korra's eyes widened. She then took notice of the dark rings around Mako's eyes and the haggardness of his appearance. "Have you gotten any sleep?" She asked concerned.
Mako shook his head. "We couldn't just leave you sitting there helpless without any guard. Bolin vol

Very Old Friends
The young Air Bender sat under the tree, looking off into the distance with his gray eyes at the rolling hills and beyond and sighed. Like most Air Benders he has never left his home.
"Air Benders are a peaceful people. We hardly ever leave our homes and wander off into adventures. We like our quiet living here." is what his uncle Gyotso would always tell him. But every once in a while he could feel something creeping up inside of him, it was the need to explore, to get out of this quiet living and travel across the Nations.
"One of these days uncle, I will walk the streets of the Southern Water Tribe and explore the Mines of the Badger Moles!" he would always tell his uncle.
And his uncle would always reply, "My dear boy, you are not but thirteen years old. Now help me with these fruit pies Aang so they will be done before supper."
Aang sighed and rested his head against the trunk of the tree. He was just startin

After another four hours of community service the three of them walked to the local market. Pabu was perched on Bolin's shoulder, his red tail wrapped around Bolin's neck. "I've been thinking of some names for our group." Bolin suddenly said.
"Names?" Korra asked, "I already thought we were Team Avatar?"
"Team Avatar is fine for the Pro-Bending Tournament. But I feel like its been used before." Bolin continued and Korra and Mako gave each other skeptical looks.
"Bolin, how do you even know that?" Mako asked.
"I don't know, but I was just thinking that for the more casual times we could be known as the Korra Krew! See, Krew would be spelled with a 'K'!" Bolin stated excitingly.
"I like it." Korra said grinning.
"Of course you do." Mako said.
After they had bought a few groceries, Bolin picking out most of them, they decided to go to where they were setting up for the festival. They stopped to look at a poster advertising the festival.

7. As soon as Katara and Zuko entered the palace, they were summoned to the board room to await the arrival of the Earth King. In the board room sat Sokka, Aang and Toph who greeted the arrival of their two friends. Katara returned Aangs greeting with a stiff nod, to which the Avatar turned his face away sheepishly. Everyone in the room noticed this, but only Zuko knew the reasons behind it. Soon Suki and Iroh entered followed by delegates from the Southern Water tribe and the fire nation. Those of the Earth Kingdom would arrive with their king, just as the delegates from the Northern tribe would arrive with their chief. Chief Arnook would arrive with Hakoda in a few days time. Katara and Sokka were excited to see their father again. Zuko and Toph were just a little annoyed at how the distance from North to South, and the tim

A Long-Expected Party
BANG! Roku lighted off another set of fireworks. All the Air Benders clapped and cheered excitedly. Everyone loved Roku's fireworks because they had nothing like them here. Fireworks were a Fire Nations invention and that's only where they could be found, except for when Roku brings them.
It was a splendid party. Everyone was dancing and singing. Aang sat with his friend, Sam, and clapped along with the music and watched the dancers. Aang noticed Sam watched one dancer in particular. Aang smirked, "Go on and ask Rosie for a dance!"
His friend looked at him like he'd grown a second head. Sam looked down. "Maybe another time." He mumbled.
Aang rolled his eyes. "Oh, go on!" He said as he pushed Sam up and right into Rosie's arms. She was shocked at first but laughed and danced with him around the circle. Aang chuckled and went to look for his uncle.

The short stocky eight year old Bolin peered through a tiny crack in his door into the hallway. It was dark, and as per usual, the lights had been turned off. It was late, hours past his curfew but Bolin just couldn't sleep. He spent the last hours since being sent to bed tossing and turning in the covers, unable to enter a restful sleep. The house had simply been too new, too foreign an envoriment for him to get comfortable.
He and his ten year old brother, Mako, had only been here for a few short days, and he had still been a little on edge. He gently pushed the door open a little more, cringing and quickly ducking away when it let out a long, high-pitched creak. Bolin stepped back a few paces, ready to duck under the dishevelled covers of his bed if someone approached to investigate the sound.
A deafening silent moment passed and nothing happened, Bolin tiptoed to the door again and pushed it open far enough for him to slip out the closed it behind him. Though the house was

(Zuko and Katara Love Story)
It's been five years since the Prince Zuko took the throne, Katara was at her tribe teaching young water benders about water-bending when Appa arrived and she received a letter from Aang, her ex-boyfriend. Her eyes widened as she read it. Zuko's father has escaped and captured him and Mai tried to rescue him but was killed doing so. Katara quickly got her stuff together and jumped on Appa. They both flew towards the fire nation.
As Katara landed in the fire kingdom, she hid Appa in a cave and used water-bending to lift herself over the wall surrounding the city. "How did Zuko's dad escape?" she thought as she ran towards the palace. "Halt!" Fire nation soldiers yelled when they saw her. She looked around and saw a bucket of water. She quickly focused and the water came out of the bucket, slammed them against a wall and then froze.

Welcome to the Republic City
Korra was exhausted. She was sent to the Republic City alone to try to find Airbending Master Tenzin. What Korra never realized was how big the Republic City actually was. She had just gotten off the ship that carried her here with her animal companion, Naga, a polar bear-dog. She crossed her arms angrily. The least they could have done was give her an address. Katara was his mother for spirits sake, she should at least know where he lives, shouldn't she? But they told her that these were strict orders from Tenzin. Apparently this was part of her training.
Training. Right. She snorted in anger. How was getting lost in this giant city suppose to be training? She was suppose to be learning air bending from him. Not navigation.
She now looked around uncomfortably. This was so different then the Southern Water Tribe. No doubt ten times the size of it. Korra had never traveled to anywhere outside the South Pole. The Republic C

Korra awoke the next morning to something red, white, and fuzzy starring her in the face. "AARRGGHH!" She screamed and bolted up right in bed which caused the creature to fly off her chest.
Both Bolin and Mako were awoken by her scream and Mako quickly stood in a prepared fighting stance. Korra saw at this time that he hadn't wore a shirt to bed and took notice of his broad shoulders and strong chest and stomach muscles. "What is it?" Mako asked looking for signs of an intrusion.
"PABUUU!!!" Korra looked over to see Bolin snuggling up to the red animal.
"What is that thing?" She asked.
Mako relaxed and dropped his arms. "That's Pabu. Bolin's fire-ferret." He told Korra.
"Aw, how cute." Korra said and got out of bed to go pet the fire-ferret.
"I'd be careful, if I were you." Mako said, "He doesn't like people, besides Bolin. He bites."
Korra stuck out her hand and the little creature sniffed it. He then brushed his head against he
What Happened To You Ch1After Zuko joined the group he noticed there was still one person who was ignoring him; Katara. When she woke everyone up, she splashed water on him; when she practiced waterbending, she threw ice shards at him; when he offered to help clean up after meals, she pushed him away and picked up the bowls before he could even think of objecting. Zuko decided he was going to put an end to her stubbornness and he knew just how to do it, he just had to wait for the right time.
After a week had passed, Zuko found the opportunity he had been waiting for. The night started off like every other: Katara would start casual conversations with the gAang while blatantly ignoring the firebending teen. Just as the sun began to set, Katara served out the food. Everyone ate and continued talking as soon as they were done; Everyone except Katara, who kept glancing up at the moon. At first Zuko couldnt understand what w
The Avatar Cycle Chapter 1Graduation day. The day I've been looking forward to but also dreading. I sighed as I pinned back some of my curly hair and put my graduation cap on. I saw a spot of red on my gown and bended it out and put it in the sink. I thought of the movies that had the girl main character walk down a set of stairs on prom or graduation to her family below where her parents take way to many pictures before she leaves. I, on the other hand, had to walk up a set of stairs, walk into the kitchen/ living room area for my parents to take pictures, then walk back to where the stairs are and go out the front door. It was after I shut the door that I realized completely that after today I was no longer going to be in High School. I was free. But at that thought I started to hyperventilate. I still haven't been able to tell the person that I liked, maybe even loved, that I had liked him for twelve years. And he lived next door to me. I also haven't told him that I am most likely the Avatar. I found out inThe Avatar Cycle Chapter 14 years ago in General More Like This

Mako nodded and shrugged out of his jacket as Bolin immediately began guessing what animal it could possibly be. "Did Zopa have her calf? No, wait -- Yeshe! Did Yeshe have her calf? Or is it -- wait, is it even a bison? Oh my gosh, did you get a whole other kind of creature altogether? Tell me! Wait, no, let me guess -- more lemurs? Korra and Bolin's heads shot up from their breakfast as they heard Mako's furious scream and as he came crashing though the bedroom door. Mako came to stand by the table obviously fuming about something and Korra just looked at the two brothers confused.
"This is the last time, Bolin." Mako snarled as he placed one of his socks on the table. Before Korra could be grossed out by this, Pabu stuck his head out of the opening of the sock. Bolin had been in a fit of giggles and couldn't suppress then any longer and broke out in a outburst laughter and toppled off his chair.
"I'm serious, Bolin. I've had it with you and your little pranks with that ferret." Mako said annoyed. Korra couldn't help herself any longer and broke out into laughter as well. "What?" Mako said looking at her, "You think this is funny?" Korra couldn't speak, she was laughing too hard, so she just shook her head.

Gahhh! Zuko rolled over and punched the ground, flames shooting from his fist. How could he have been so stupid? Shed done nothing but show him kindness and hed thrown it back at her like he had her trust in Ba Sing Se. Could he do nothing right when it came to her?
But she could be infuriating! The way she hovered, watching his every move was so so ahhh!
And now hed have to somehow pull his foot out of his mouth and go apologize. Again.
He buried his head in his arms. It seemed like he was always apologizing to her, trying to make amends for something stupid that hed done. It was always two steps forward, one giant leap back for them.
He glanced up to see Sokka standing over him, a smirk pulling at the corner of his mouth. And if I am, Zuko asked, sitting up with some difficulty.
Sokka plopped down on the ground beside him. Maybe I can help.
