This was done for Palladium's "Rifts - Atlantis." Although the original was sold some time ago, I'm going to re-visit this piece in the near future.

The only record I have of the original had to be culled from the book; this piece was done before the scanner had been invented!

Needless to say, I'm in love with mech-dragons.

Another piece from Atlantis.

So much to get back into! Seeing this piece again reminds me of my fascination with insects, and my desire to do some really exotic mecha based on them. I do consider insects to be the original mechs; there are no better bases for robot/vehicle design.

I promise to put things up here more regularly. That said, it would be nice to hear from those of you who enjoy and grab artwork from here! Positive reinforcement is a GOOD THING!

FINALLY I'm getting to pieces that I've held back for so many years!

Fear is a ridiculous thing - I let it stop me at the silliest moments, like when the design is just about finalized. And still we grow...

And yes - This is part of the Mechazoic Era series.

Another game art piece.

I love Mike Trim's work on the Gerry Anderson classics (UFO in this case). I set out to do my own take on the SHADO Mobile Units (badass tactical vehicles), with a little ARK II (look it up!) thrown in.

All in all, I'd consider this a thoroughly bear-proof Winnebago...

Predator C design alterations, trying to make it less happy fun-time robot and more machine like. This version done in a cleaner illustration style and intended to be modular this one is loaded with as much firepower as able and all the defensive fixin's, plus a system of leg backups.

And woah... there's a person there too...

Unlike Stratus, I've never made a proper version of Shadow. Nari Varayana is the pilot for this Craft.

Shadow is the codename given by Nari after he acquired this Craft. This Heavy Artillery Craft Series 10 (HAC - 10), has a right arm rifle port, and the unit is built for heavy recoil and endurance, which allows it to carry missiles and a heavy artillery rifle.

After Nari acquired this Craft and was not able to sell it to an arms dealer. He later adapts this Craft as his main and replaces the previous rifle attachment on Shadow, which was damaged during the raid. The new rifle is a custom nameless attachment designed by Winston - Nari's engineer. The rifle has been known to hit targets over 21 km, and shoots standard tank shells with slight modifications.

The Shadow can replace its lower legs with land tracks and be converted into a FORTRESS class Craft. The legs and arm + rifle port can be replaced by flight capable attachments and parachutes and be converted into a VALKYRIE class Craft.

This is an illustration from the Rifts: D-Bees of North America sourcebook from Palladium Games.

This guy is neat - Larmacs are giant, brutish dino-men, but they're horribly lazy. Thus, the old television and oversized drumstick in his hand. And the wife-beater. Nothing says lazy b*stard like a wife-beater and a chicken-leg.

Painting of the Knight Templar 001 Mech drawing ( [link] ). As you can see, I made some changes/adjustments as I went along. The legs now seem to fit a little more than the bulkier/boxier version of the drawing.

All done in Photoshop cs3 and my Cintiq (LOVE my Cintiq!)

UPDATE 01-- After some suggestions, some new textures, lightened the background a touch. Hope the changes are different enough to warrant the edit!

Total time, first sketch to final art, about 9 hours.
