One of the most colorful sunsets I have photographed in years of shooting in Great Falls National Park happened yesterday during my One Day Workshop. The weather was fowl all day and the storms that rolled through scared the hell out of me, but in the end we were treated to some amazing light!

Spent a great weekend camping and hiking with my 4 year old son Phoenix in the mountains of West Virginia. On Sunday, we scrambled down to second falls of Shays Run and climbed around the falls and played in the plunge pool for a while. He was patient enough to allow me to work a few comps as well!

Harrison Wright Falls, 125 seconds at f16, raw capture
From last weeks waterfall hike in the Glens Natural Area, Ricketts Glen State Park, PA. The water levels were exceptionally low and although I did the entire circuit hike I was only inspired to shoot a total of 3 compositions. Either way I am pretty happy with my keepers!

Middle Prong of the Little River, GSMNP, Tennessee.
I am in the middle of leading my 10 day Ultimate Appalachian Tour. This image was taken on the third day of the tour after a night of heavy rainfall. The creeks, streams and rivers where near flood capacity. We worked the Middle Prong that morning and this shot was one that did not exist the day before. In order to get the best perspective on the cascades and framing of the rock and tree in the background, I had to get into the water almost waist deep and wade out just a bit. The current was very strong and one slip would have sent me down river for sure. Anyway, I didn't slip and got the shot.
