Explanation of FaithLet me explain the problem science has with religion.' The atheist professor of philosophy pauses before his class and then asks one of his new students to stand.
'You're a Christian, aren't you, son?
'Yes sir,' the student says.
'So you believe in God?'
'Is God good?'
'Sure! God's good.'
'Is God all-powerful? Can God do anything?'
'Are you good or evil?'
'The Bible says I'm evil.'
The professor grins knowingly. 'Aha! The Bible!'
He considers for a moment, 'Here's one for you. Let's say there's a sick person over here and you can cure him. You can do it. Would you help him? Would you try?'
'Yes sir, I would.'
'So you're good!'
'I wouldn't say that.'
'But why not say that? You'd help a sick and maimed person if you could. Most of us would if we could. But God doesn't.'
The student does not answer, so the professor continues.
'He doesn't, does he? My brother was a Christian who died of cancer, even though he prayed to Jesus to heal him. How is this Jesus good? Hmmm?
A True Christian . . . .A True Christian . . . .5 years ago in Philosophical More Like This
A True Christian does not calls Christianity a religion, but a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. (John 15:14-15, Hebrews 13:5, John 10:27-28, Proverbs 17:17, Job 5:19, Psalm 37:39)
A True Christian does not do good deeds so that he/she can get to heaven (for through Jesus Christ, he has a place in heaven), but so that you can take care of you fellow man and to love one another. (Romans 3:9-31, John 15:17, Luke 10:25-37, Ephesians 2:8-10)
A True Christian does not condemn others for their sins for God did not sent his son to the world to condemn it, but to save it through him. (John 3:17, Luke 6:37, 1 Peter 2:22)
A True Christian sings, dances, and praises God not so that he/she can impress other people or God, but because he/she loves God and his son. (Matthew 22:37-39)
A True Christian speaks for those who can't speak for themselves. (Proverbs 31:8-9)
A True Christian does not hate people, but sins. For those
Why is there a Hell? Now, there are some of you who are asking:Why is there a Hell?5 years ago in Philosophical More Like This
"If God is a loving God, then why did he made Hell?"
There is a reason for it.
Hell was not originally made for us.
It was made for Satan and the angels who follow him.
But we have been tempted and fallen to the point of going there.
Satan was once a beautiful angel, probably the most beautiful around. He was a twinkle in God's eye and was a angel of light. He was a magnificent creature, glistening with all the colors of the rainbow as he stood close to the throne of God.
But, that wasn't enough to Satan or Lucifer.
He was not satisfied with what God gave him. Pride led him to envy, jealousy, hatred, rebellion, and finally to ruin. He tempted 1/3 of the angels of heaven to join him and try to overthrow God from his throne and become God himself.
For he has said in his heart "I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides o

And hate what our God Hates
Now, I look in the news and such, and I see people who call themselves "Christians" walk with signs of hate. This makes me mad that they went like that and they claim to do God's deal. And sadden that it's situations like that gives God a SERIOUS BAD name. I will tell you what God loves and hate.
God hates murders, but he doesn't condemn the murderers.
God hates homosexual behavior, but doesn't think ill of the gays.
God hates rapes, but does not hate the rapers.
God hates abortions, but watches over the doctors who do them.
God hates sin, but he sent his only son to Earth so that those who believe in him and follow his ways shall not die, but will have everlasting life.
I have a friend who was once a rapist, but he is reborn and is now my brother in Christ.
I have a couple friends who are gay, but I do not condemn them. I dislike their homosexual activity, but

Jake has been a church going child ever since he was a boy.
He loved going there and is a true Christian.
He loved singing in church.
He loved doing what God wants him to do, that is to spread love.
He loved being a Christian.
But there was one thing that he wanted, but didn't get at the time.....
A pleasant face-to-face conversation with Jesus.
He knows that he'll see Jesus in heaven, but he wants to see him before that.......
Jake was just walking down the street to visit his pastor.
He was only suppose to meet him a hour later, but Jake likes to go there a bit earlier (old habit of his).
As he walked down the street by the park, Jake decides to sit on the bench so that he can clear his mind. Then, a homeless man came and sat by Jake. He has ragged clothes and looks like he would be in his thirties.
The man looks at Jake and says "Hello there."
Jake replied "Hello sir."
"Nice day, isn't it?"
"Oh yes it is, sir. The Lord must be happy today

They are pretty lovey dovey to each other, but they used to fight a bit too much at time, to the point of getting on each others' throats.
They are also not religious. They both think that church and the stuff they teach is a waste of time.
At least until one day . . . . .
Maykala is at a hospital room, beside the beaten-up body of Michael, who is in a coma.
From what she heard, Michael was jumped in a alley by a bunch of punks. After they took his money, they decided to finish him off. Then, a couple of alley cats attacked them and scratch the living daylights out of the punks.
Then, cops came to the scene and both called an ambulance for Michael and catch the punks who hurt him (they didn't get very far due to their faces).
The person who told the cops was a unidentified homeless person who
Keeping your SalvationWhen you receive salvation, can you lose it?Keeping your Salvation5 years ago in Philosophical More Like This
Some churches will say that to keep your salvation, you must obey the laws.
But that is wrong.
When you have received Jesus' salvation, truly received him, you are saved.
As it has been sang:
"No power of Hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from his hands."
But, this does not mean that Jesus did not left us rules.
For that he came to Earth not to abolish the laws, but to fulfill them. He has placed some new laws not so that we can keep his salvation, but so that we can be good Christians and so we can understand what God would want us to do in several situations and conflicts when we hear him.
You will still be tempted to sin and Satan will try to get you to rebel against God, but stay strong in the Lord.
But, the question is "Have you been received his salvation?"
When you prayed for forgiveness and you truly meant it, you might not feel any different than before. The next step to this is to start living Ch

Religion or Faith?Religion or Faith?5 years ago in Philosophical More Like This
I've been thinking about a few things and this just came to me:
What is important?
Faith or Religion?
Now that I think of it, I would say that Faith's important. Religion is just a Earthly classification, just a title. People can be called Christians, but they put their Faith only on their own power.
I may be called a Christian and some of my friends may be called Catholics, Baptists, or Evangelists. And we would get into arguments about different ideas and such, but we both have the same Faith and it is this:
"And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God." I John 4: 14-15
In short, I am not "just a Christian", I am a "Follower of Christ".
The next you ask someone what their religion is, ask what is their Faith instead.

We saw a nice-looking man saying that it's impossible to reach up the path on ourselves and he even offered to take us up there.
Mark, in his usual bull-headed way, said that he can do it and kept climbing on the cliff.
The man asked me to get on his back and let him do the climbing.
I told the man that I might be too heavy for him to carry me.
He just smiled and said that it's okay.
I agreed with him and climbed onto his back.
When he starts climbing, he seriously surprised me.

Why did God gave us Free Will?
Wasn't Free Will the thing that got us to be deceived by Satan and got kicked out of the Garden of Eden?
But that's cause we've used it in the wrong way.
Then, why do we have it?
Imagine yourself as a parent with kids.
When your kids are in trouble, do you want them to come to you 'cause they have to . . . .
Or 'cause they want to?
Do you want your children to love you 'cause they have to . . . . .
Or 'cause they want to?
Hmmm, I choose . . . .
That's why God gave us Free Will, so that worship and love him because we want to.
He doesn't want us to be like drones or like mindless machines taking orders,
Only Satan wants that.
That's why Satan hates Free Will, because we can chose to sin or not and whether to follow God or not.
The next time someone tells you that being a Christian is like being a slave with no Free Will, tell him/her that God has gave us more freedom than you think.

Having the religion or the faith?
Those who call themselves Believers, but do not believe are liars. For it is a sign that they are not truly saved.
They will think that they are righteous by deeds. They will say that they know him, yet do not. They will put on a mask of kindness only the day of the Sabbath, but take it off on every other day. They will say that they know every verse from the Bible and can, but they do not take it to heart. They say that they trust in the Lord, but they mostly trust on themselves. They will do good deeds only 'cause they think that it how you get to heaven.
But God will bring everything that has be done in both mind and by hands, even the hidden things that are either good or evil into Judgement.
By the deeds of the Law, no flesh shall be justified in his sight. But by grace, you are saved, through faith. Faith is a gift of God, not b

I know that God has shared with me that there are some people in the church who continue to go to church and still question God's Existance.
Now if you were to be on the side of logics: either everything came from nothing (which is impossible 'cause nothing can only make nothing) or something always existed.
A lot of people are still confused and ask such fallacy's such as: who created God?
now: no one created God 'cause he wouldn't be God if someone created him.
He created everyone and everything.
In the first chapter and verse of the book of Genesis, it talks about the creation of the heavens and the earth.
it says: "In the Beginning, God created the Heavens and the earth."
Now if you look closely at these set of God-given words, it talks about something a bit surprising, but also explains into further detail of God's existance...
In the beginning - TIME
God Created the heavens - Space
and the Earth - Matter
so: in other words... God created
