Splash, splash, splash.
The leather boots of Quarter Queen, thirteen year old girl of Mexican origin, produced that sound every time they came in contact with the many puddles scattered along one of the main roads of the city.
It was said to rain only thirty-five days in a year in Los Angeles, and it seemed the girl had found exactly one of them. However, the shower that had taken the residents by surprise on that sultry August afternoon didn't stop her run.
Tu-tum. Tu-tum. Tu-tum.
She made her way through the passers-by equipped with umbrellas with the agility given by her young age as she held close two bags from the department store, where she jealously kept a mini-skirt, a yellow tee with a deep V neck, mascara and vanilla gloss. She shielded them from the storm with care almost excessive, for all her dreams of living her life like a normal teenager were kept in those bags.
A life that didn't include the bullying from her classmates, devoted to more superficial things

Failure to Flirt (18)
You groaned softly as you stood on your tippy toes and stretched as much as you could as you reached for a book on a high shelf. Normally this wouldn't be a problem for you, but this book was part of the required reading list so of course it would be on a high shelf.
"I wondered where you got to." an eighteen-year-old Christopher Pike said in hushed tones as he leaned against the shelf at the end of the aisle.
You internally rolled your eyes and replied, "How about instead of being your usual flirty and pompous self you actually help me out and get the book I need for me?" You turned and glared at him.
"All you had to do was ask, (y/n)." Christopher told you, smirking.
'Oh how I want to wipe that smirk off his face.' you thought to yourself.
Christopher smirked wider as he walked over to you then stopped in front of you and kept eye contact as he pulled the book off of the shelf. "Here you go."
"Thanks." you replied in a flat tone as you took the book. You went ba

Bones had an idea for prank week. A wonderful, hilariously awful idea that he wanted to pull on you. No, it didn't matter that you were his girlfriend now and it was really your fault. You had started Prank Week and now he was going to teach you a lesson for messing with his mind and for you locking him out of his own room.
He smiled proudly as he pulled out his PADD and sent you a message: "(Y/N), I am so sorry to tell you this, but I haven't been completely honest with you." He cackled softly as he pressed send then sat down at his desk with his feet up as he waited for you to message him back.
"Leonard McCoy, just what do you mean by you haven't been honest with me." you sent back.
You tapped you fingers against your PADD as you waited for him to write back. 15 minutes went by and he still had yet to explain what he meant. "Leonard, you better explain right now or I swear bei

It had been years long since past that he remembered your smile, the scent of your perfume, and what it was like to hold you in his arms. Now, here he was sitting outside the very medical facility deep below Starfleet HQ in San Francisco with his shoulders hunched and his head bowed over a cup of coffee. The other doctors who he was working with are now convinced that you would never wake up and that there was nothing more they could do to try to cure you.
On the other side of the doors, he could very faintly hear your mother's voice willing you to stay strong or wake up. Your father had refused to enter the room with her and other members of your family and had instead settled for sitting across from him and staring. If he had the courage to look up he knew what his stare would say: "You did this. It's your fault." He knew it was true. If he hadn't turned his back for one second and did wander a few feet away you would be alright.

Bones sighed and glared at his friend then replied, "Because it's not something that comes up in everyday conversation."

You thought of carefully moving towards the door, but you knew Khan was nearby, so trying to get away again would be absolutely useless.
