Where Have You Been?O God,Where Have You Been?4 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Where have you been?
Why did you leave me,
When I needed you most?
Do you not truly care?
You would never forsake me
Where did you go?
Did you not hear me,
When my heart cried out to you?
Was your ear deaf?
Are you void of feeling?
Do you not see these tears on my face?
Oh, why did you leave me?
Why did you leave?
Where have you been?
Why did you leave me?
Do you not know
How much I truly care?
I would never forsake you
I was always right there
I heard you,
When you cried out in your anguish
My ear heard every word
My heart broke for you
I shed tears along with you
I never left you
Rather, you left me

My best friend
My dearest friend
Always there for me
Whenever I need you
You take me under your wing,
When the world turns its back on me.
My best friend
My truest friend
You never fail me
I can always trust you.
Though the world is full of lies,
I know I can depend on you.
My best friend
My sweetest friend
You are my Savior
You gave your life for me.
You suffered unheard-of pain,
So that my own pain may be healed.
My sweet brother
You look out for me.
When I haven't the strength,
You lift me up in your arms,
And you will never let me go.
"No Brainer"No Brainer (Why God Allows Bad Things to Happen)"No Brainer"4 years ago in Academic Essays More Like This
"It's a No-Brainer"...that's the life that Satan wanted for us. If life wasn't hard, and if the Lord didn't allow bad things to happen to us, or if we were punished immediately for doing wrong, Satan would have gotten his way. Satan wanted people to blindly follow him. Since he can't have his way, he wants everyone to suffer like him, so he causes bad things to happen and evil men to do evil things.
God allows these things to happen, first of all because he promised us freedom to choose. Some people choose evil, which causes pain to themselves and others. But it also fulfills God's plan, for without knowing the bitter, it's impossible to fully appreciate the sweet moments in life because we have nothing to compare them to. Ironically, Satan and his guile and malisciousness and hatred and wickedness will help us to appreciate just how wonderful and honest and pe
TemplesTemples4 years ago in Emotional More Like This
So far in my sixteen years of living I have seen three temples; the first temple that I saw was the Nauvoo, Illinois Temple, then the one where I live, and thirdly I saw the Salt Lake City Temple. I always feel closer to the spirit being on temple grounds. And when I went to these beautiful places, whether it was about the church in general, the temple itself, or about myself, I always learned something.
If any of you have ever been to Nauvoo, you know that it is an incredibly small town. I passed the temple probably every day last summer when I was there. Yes, only one year ago did I see a temple up close and walk on its grounds. I was not a member of the church last year, and I'm still not, but I take lessons and go to church regularly. It was in Nauvoo that I started. It wasn't the temple that got me "believing" though; it was many other things that I won't go into right now, but the temple is c
Heavenly MotherI wonderHeavenly Mother5 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Why do we call Him
Our "Heavenly Father"?
Is it possible
That we may have
A Heavenly Mother, too?
She must be beautiful
Kind and loving
That a true mother
Can and should be.
The gleam in her eyes
Must rival the stars;
The brightness of her smile
Must exceed the sun.
If there was ever a time
When I lay in her arms,
My head on her heart
I fancy I can hear
Her sweet voice telling me
How much she loves me,
How much she misses me.
If there truly is a Heavenly Mother,
Why is it
That we hardly ever hear of her?
In all the holy scriptures,
No mention is made of her.
I think I know.
The Lord's name,
Along with Jesus Christ's name,
Are abused right and left.
People are constantly
Taking God's name in vain
They speak of the Eternal Father,
Of the Only Begotten,
Wished to keep Mother's name pure
Perhaps He kept her name concealed

I see something shining with light
But its shape is blurred, distorted
I want to go towards it, but yet
I wonder why, for I cannot tell
What it is, and the sounds and colors
Of the world are closer, more distinct
Drawing me near with smiles.
I do not see the tears
Hiding in the laughter of the world
Until I feel a strong hand on my shoulder
Another hand slips something on my nose
And ears, and suddenly I see so clearly
In the light is the kingdom of God
Full of warmth, light, family, love
But in the world, hands hang down
Shoulders slump with the sorrow
More prevalent than joy there
Yet, people still walk to the world
I turn and ask Him, "How can they
Not see the pain in the eyes of the world?
Why do they follow empty smiles?"
And the Savior replied, His eyes brimming with tears
"They do not see what you see, my friend
They wander and are lost, but because
They do not understand the light
Of my Father's kingdom, they do not see
What you see. They have not sought
The HomeThe home should be a happy placeThe Home5 years ago in Concrete Poetry More Like This
Where friends and family dwell.
The light of God on every face,
And all things would be well.
The Spirit finds the family
When it's invited to.
This will happen naturally,
And can happen to you.
The home is under an attack
Enemies on all sides.
I plead to you, drive the foes back
And not with you abide.
Protect the family and the home
And true blessings will come.
