Sarah stared in abject disbelief and horror at her computer screen. The images were refusing to enter into the soft tissues of her brain’s memory, resulting in the constant stare she was shooting the screen. This couldn’t be happening. It wasn’t. She refused to believe that it was. Unfortunately, the damning evidence on her computer said otherwise so she did the only thing she could think of at that moment. She yelled her supposed best friend’s name. Loudly.

Why Twilight Is So PopularThree years ago my seventh grade locker partner lended me her copy of Twilight saying it was an amazing book and I was sure to love it. Because of everything you've done,
A pile of dirty, broken bones,
You say given from love.
If this is love, then what is hate?
My mind flashes to you;
I'll show you my breed of hate,
if it's the last thing I do.
So, one dark night, when you're alone,
We'll meet and then I'll kill ya.
Before the life drains from your eyes,
I'll whisper, "I'm Gothic Lolita."

The Boogeyman Do you believe in the boogeyman? The Boogeyman5 months ago in Free Verse More Like This
I do; I've seen his face.
I've seen the way his eyes reflect
With predatory grace.
I've seen the way he smiles.
He does not have fang-lined jaws.
But I do believe that he
Has nails that slope like claws.
Yes, I have seen the boogeyman,
But it's not all bad you see;
I'm not scared of the boogeyman,
Because the boogeyman's scared of me.

She stands at the sink, slicing the last tomato for the salad. In so doing, she nicks herself with the tiny blade. She hisses in reaction and sucks the blood and tomato juice off her finger.
Everything is all set. A fine, virgin-white cutwork cloth veils the table. The muted glow from the three candles placed in the center reflects off the pristine china. The fumes merge with those of the smoking food.
Dinner is ready, but he still does not come.

Look into my eyes and feel yourself creep
Into an abyss of eternal joy
You'll be my happy, mindless little toy,
Quiet little lamby, fall into my arms,
I swear little angel child, you're safe from any harm.
Just say your bedtime prayers, my pet, rest your weary head
Let the calm wash over you, like the river of the dead.
Silence, sleepy little tot, there's no need to fight.
You've fallen in my spider web, you're mine now-goodnight.

When I was little, I used to think the word "gay" only stood for "joy" or "lightheartedness." Then, of course, as I got older, when the window of innocence was shattered, it took on an entirely new meaning. You're probably thinking this is one of those "coming out of the closet" stories, but quite the opposite is true.
I am not gay.

I woke up this morning with a start when I fell out of bed

That ain't no crime

And left from my dreaming was a feeling of unnameable dread

That ain't no crime

My high is low
I'm dressed up with no place to go
And all I know
Is I'm at the start of a pretty big downer

A weakling weighing ninety-eight pounds
Will get sand in his face
When kicked to the ground
And soon in the gym
With a determined chin
The sweat from his pores
As he works for his cause
Will make him glisten
And gleam, and with massage
And just a little bit of steam
He'll be pink and quite clean
He'll be a strong man
Oh, honey!
Chorus
But the wrong man
Dr. Frank-N-Furter
He'll eat nutritious, high protein
And swallow raw eggs
Try to build up his shoulders
His chest, arms, and legs
Such an effort
If he only knew of my plan
In just seven days
Chorus
I can make you a man
