Leather goat mask is colored with a mix of leather dyes and paints in a combination of dark brown, tan and black. This mask is made of hand molded and formed leather. It has a protective topcoat and a pair of coordinating ribbon ties. Mask is made of high quality leather. I work in light leather that accepts and holds detailed molding and forming. The horns on this mask are made of seperate pieces of leather for added dimension and character. They have been well and thoroughly secured to the face of the mask.
If you look through my Etsy feedback you will see a fabulous photo that a customer of a previous goat mask included with his feedback...

I was commissioned a few weeks ago to make a snarling wolf mask. I don't often make my wolves snarling, for some reason. But I figured why not, and came up with a design.
Someone saw it, liked it, & before I knew it I had a new commission for another pissed off wolf with the same design but in dark timber wolf colors. So here it is.
Like all my masks, this is hand carved (each hair meticulously cut into the leather with a 1/4 angle ceramic blade), hand shaped, & hand painted. I used Liquitex acrylics, & drybrushed the colors in layers to accent the carved fur.
Custom orders gladly accepted at my Etsy shop: [link]

Design Process[link]I'm proud to introduce my first original design! The rest of my masks have been fan-make thus far. It felt good to stretch my artistic legs and play with the many themes of January. Read more at the design process link for info on the mythology and flower lore for January.
You are looking at a unique limited edition mask that has been carved by hand from leather. This mask draws upon the themes of January with its Garnet birthstone and celebrated flowers, the Carnation and the Snowdrop. Because it is so intricate, I will only be making a limited number of this particular design!
The green accents in this mask are metallic and shimmer in the light. It is held to the face by organza ribbon tied behind the head. It is signed by the artist and numbered on the back of the mask.
This mask has been dyed with leather dye and hand painted with acrylic paints. It is finished with varnish and should withstand longterm wear. Though water-resistant, you should not dunk it in water.
Here is a pair of blue and silver leather masks that just went out today to a you couple for a masked prom. They were pretty fun to make. My silver paint is really transparent and takes a lot of layers, so it is kind of a pain to use.
Brilliantly colored mask in the shape of a diving phoenix, with a tail of pheasant, ostritch, and peacock feathers. Mask is red, green, and orange, with a glowing wash of gold. Phoenix has green glass eyes. There is a radient sun on the forhead, under which hangs a red and blue gem.
This mask has sold, but I do commissions for those interested in a similar one.
