Awkward PosesI'm planning on doing a stock-photo-shoot to create references for some of DA's most notorious awkward poses.Awkward Poses2 years ago in Personal More Like This
There will be classic "hands behind back" and "am I a ballerina or drunk?" shots of course, but I'd like some help finding direct references to base my references off of. Yes, I'll be using drawings as references to create stock-photos for references for drawings. It's derpception.
There's plenty of drawings with awkward poses out there, and I've seen a lot, but that's not enough. I need help finding the "best of the best" to pose after.
So, please, as you navigate the bowels of the art world (a.k.a. DeviantArt), link back those strange poses here. I can never see too many.
Also, the photo-shoot will be recorded, so you'll get to see me in action, falling on my face, trying to replicate drawings. Isn't that exciting?

Hey what's up guys! Its been a while but I'm back to stay!
There was a good reason for my absence...
As some of you who are following me on facebook might know, my girlfriend and I were expecting and my daughter was born a few weeks ago. This has been the single best moment of my life so far and we've been very very lucky everything has gone so perfect.
With all of that going on, painting was the last thing on my mind but now that I've settled into this new life as a dad, the urge is coming back and I'm going to be painting a LOT more.
I'm going to start a series of tutorials on Youtube where I'll explain everything character related from a beginner's level up to more advanced stuff. This will be a weekly thing and I'll be releasing the first one this week.
What I've been doing so far are just timelapses of regular paintings and while I'll still make these, my goal with the tutorial series is to target ce

"Overall, it goes back to one of Warren's old mainstays for here; "There is no crying in Whitechapel", which means just bring your best stuff, be honest and committed to it, and don't whine.
All of us have felt "outclassed" by something here, and complaining about it gets boring, so better to put your energy into getting your game up to the level you wish it to be. It took me a few years to really hit a level I felt I could even feel good about here with the possibility of someone like Mike Weiringo showing up and owning the entire thread.
The "No piss-takes" rule is also in the same vein; we're all here to see good stuff, so bringing something that is obviously half-assed or was slapped together with little thought is a piss-take, and it wastes both our (the viewers) and your time. Again,

I had several pages I created before, but now I wanted to change the order of the panels and spread them out more. So I needed to move the layers to a different page file.
In Photoshop you can just drag a layer into a different document and it copies it. But MS will not drag anything across pages.
I searched the net and help files but nothing answered my question.
I almost resorted to copy/pasting layers one by one, but then something occurred to me to try:
In your "layers" palette, select the panel folder you want to move. "Select All" on the page, and then go to "Edit" and "Copy". You can tell it's working when it blinkers a bit (especially if you use lots of layers like me). Then it will create a copied folder in your "layers" palette. You can then go to your other separate page file, hit "Paste", and it will paste your copied panel folder right in, layers, tones, text balloons and all!

I am literally tearing up. I didnt even think it was possible for me to get a DD. Thanks so much everyone.
