The Beautiful Dangerous | SYMBIOSIS | ver. 2.0 | 01 of a series

A safe-for-work version of the previous deviation. Just a quick rework for those of you who want to use it as a wallpaper, but are apprehensive because of the nudity.

Also replaced her sword (now a stylized kris), as some of you may not be familiar with the original version, the kampilan. The kampilan is an ancient Filipino longsword used by tribal chieftains and heads of elite households; the blade has a broad tip that narrows as it reaches the hilt. This presents some confusion when illustrating the sword at an angle that tilts the blade away from the viewer; as much as I like the kampilan, I admit that its broad tip does not lend itself well to foreshortening.

Original version here:

worked on the character design and promo illustration of princess malya a few months back, and i'm excited to see the guys at soda pop sculpting this into miniatures. every now and then, i receive work-in-progress shots of the miniature and it pumps me up, to see my designs translated into something tangible and tiny. i can't even begin to imagine how they manage to sculpt something so small in such detail. the mind boggles. :D
