This is my final peice on scratch board, this is what I'm turning in for a grade, I realy like this scratch board stuff, and want to do more, but alas, due to expensive-ness we were only given one peice each, a little peice for practice, and a peice for final..
...Or rather... illusions. 'Cause a trick is something a whore does for money.
So says Gob Bluth, at least! The character in this deviation. He is my favorite member of the Bluth family, the stars of Arrested Development, probably my favorite comedy tv show of the last few years. It's just awesome! And Gob, man, Gob is my favorite. He is a magician who does a lot of failed illusions, and his routines soundtrack is the song The Final Countdown, by Europe. He speaks in an awesome tone of voice, and... well, he's just Gob. You need to see this show. It's incredibly funny.
This drawing was done based on a scene of the first season, when Gob is showing a new magic trick with cards to his nephew, George Michael.
Gob - The telepathic energy is telling me it's the... eight of diamonds.
George Michael - That's... amazingly close.
Gob - Gee, I got it wrong. Well, I guess you won the shirt of my back! (takes off shirt)
George Michael - Ok, that's amazing!
Gob - It's the Queen of Diamonds!
George Michael - No, no... no...
Gob - What?
George Michael - I.. I had... but if that had been the actual card, I'm pretty sure I'd be almost... TOO blown away... if that's...
Gob - You know, it's, it's a new trick, so I'm still kinda tweaking my nipples...
EDIT (way, way too late): So...I've been on deviantArt for 6 years now...and I did not discover what a DD was until just a little while ago. I suppose you could equate this to living inside of a hole in the dA community. Anywho, I would really like to say how thankful I am for the DD, and I am really glad that an Arrested Development related piece such as this one is appreciated by you guys
2 Things I noticed while drawing this:
1. Will Arnett's forehead is kinda scary-big
2. For some reason, when you draw GOB, the part that really makes it look like him is the bottom of his nose. I have no idea why, but when I added the line for the bottom of his nose, it suddenly looked right.
First CATS art (for no reason)! I thought this was kinda cute. ^^ I drew this from the DVD, sort of based on a shot of them in the background. Mungojerrie's kind of stylized, mostly 'cuz I can't draw guys! Plus, he's actually kinda funny-looking anyway. I mean that in a perfectly complimentary way, of course.
Drawn in pencil and edited and colored in Photoshop Elements.
