"Yo, Frank, have you seen that disk with my charge pump design on it? It seems to be missing."
"Neon yellow, three and a half inches square, usually hanging half ejected from your floppy drive? The one I keep telling you to make a back-up of? Nope."
"Damn. I just had an idea for cleaning up the gain ringing, I need to find that disk."
"Well, before you go tearing our office apart, could you come in here and give me a hand? It'll just take a minute."
"Okay." Paul Mauser came the rest of the way into Frank Tranh's "Lab", a oddly-shaped storage room that he had managed to requisition six months earlier. It was convenient in many ways, first, it was on the same basement level as the cubbyhole they shared as an office, and it happened to be right where the main power for all four linked science buildings came in. SPECTRAL SPECTACLE: MirageCorp's Annual ConventionThe sun was deliciously warm; Kasten had no reason to move. For that matter, nor did she want to. It was a lazy - what day was it? It was a lazy day and Kas had no reason whatsoever to move from her comfortable cushioned windowsill. In fact, she had resolved, she was going to nap and relax - in this spot - until otherwise. What a comfortable contest, she thought to herself.SPECTRAL SPECTACLE: MirageCorp's Annual Convention3 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Kas lost the contest in under 10 minutes. The raucous sound on pounding on her front door gave her a quick loss.
Her eyes shot open and she fell to the ground from her warm and comfy perch.
Kas pawed around her house until she made her way to the front door. She was in no mood for visitors. Unless they were bringing presents. Or food. Both would be acceptable. Yes.
Kasten swung the door open. With wide brown eyes she scanned left and right. Across the street, a dark-skinned man in a strange black-and-white suit waved goodbye.
At her feet, Kas saw an ordinary brown cardboard box. There was no logo on it an
P.A.P LatexThe crowd had gathered around the stage when they heard that a new showing began in less than five minutes. "Ok, ok, come on Jasper. You got this. You got this."
Jasper had hoped for this day a long time. He has a chance to get his facility off the ground and this could possibly be his only shot. If he should succeed it would mean great things; however if he should fail...well he would rather not think about at this time. He needed to try and stay focus on the convention.
"Well look who finally decided to show up."
The fur on Jasper's neck stood out as he heard the all too familiar voice. He slowly turned around to see none other than Phantom. She was the one that gave him this opportunity to show what has to offer. He was very grateful for this, but could not show it when he looked into her deep green eyes. It amazed him t

The Evil Dr. Mauser stared levelly at the young agent on the other side of his desk. He steepled his gauntleted fingers and carefully considered her proposal.
She was far too young to be an agent of any organization, but apparently her group actually recruited girls in their low teens and sent them on these missions. The sheer audacity and recklessness appalled him, but on the other hand, he certainly had to respect the young girl's tenacity and dedication to her cause.
Frankly, she shouldn't be there. For one thing, his mountain redoubt was scores of miles from the nearest civilization. The countryside was dotted with guards and patrols, as well as sensors and booby traps. It was a tribute to the clout of her organization that she was able to even pass the front gate, let alone penetrate the inner security of the facility. Somehow she had bypasse

On a small table in a small room in a massive skyscraper is a massive city, a medium woman stood over a medium vixen.
"Your presence is of the utmost disappointment. Your creation was my choice, and the damage you have done is therefore my responsibility entirely."
Phantom paced the room, wandering in circles above her carrion. Phantom's costume was a jet-black leather catsuit, covered in steel, buckles and imposing straps. In her hands she bore a crop; the sign of a general. She paced with her hands behind her back, muttering eloquent nothings to herself as well as her prisoner.
The only other non-prisoner was Vikki, who stood in the corner with a demure look. She half-smiled and her lips were just barely upturned. Her hands clasped in front of her and her expression made for a look of the utmost apology.
"I trusted the advice of my adjutant. Your presence makes a fool of both myself and my dear associate." Phantom punctuated the word 'associte' with a firm grab of Vikki's rear. She w
What A Fantastic Rubber Experience! [Chapter 2]Lana awoke the next morning and stretched, the lifting of her arms drawing the already tight leotard crotch deeper within her. She'd had the... sexiest dream. But it was time to wake up. Real life was calling. She reached her arm behind her back for the zipper, but felt nothing but microfiber... Lana's heart fluttered. There was no zipper! But just as she was about to live out that fantasy, her phone blared to life, ringing incessantly by her bed. Lana cursed under her breath. She stretched over, answering the phone. What A Fantastic Rubber Experience! [Chapter 2]9 months ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
"Hey Lana! Did I wake you?"
"Uh.. N-Not really..." She lied.
"Okay! I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to go meet that girl from the internet, August. I'll just be there for a while, but I'm going to have to rain check lunch, okay?"
"Y-yeah. Good luck, I hope April... uh... the girl sells what you're looking for." Lana answered, briefly struggling to remember who this internet girl was.
"Uh.. yeah! See you Lana!"
"Bye, Lori!" Lana cut the line. Her fri
Release The HoundsThe room was dark but Antoinette was not a novice Hunter. Her thermal-vision goggles kept her appraised of anyone in the room; Antoinette refused to be surprised. She was a professional monster hunter at least, that was what she told anyone she met. That was what it said on her business card.Release The Hounds3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Any NHE non-human entity that saw her, however, knew that she was inexperienced and easy prey. The NHE that Antoinette was tracking, a vampiress named "The Red Widow," stared at Antoinette as she stalked through her lair.
Now was as good a time as any for the 'big reveal" that she so cherished.
The Red Widow slammed the lights on with a clap of her hands. Antoinette dropped to her knees in surprise. "Where are you?" the hunter screamed.
" where I was the whole time." The Red Widow grabbed Antoinette's arms and cruelly held them above her head. A nibble to her neck sent Antoinette into a haze, which provided the vampiress enough time to slip a pair of cursed elbow g

The shop owner told her to wait while he retrieved the latex boots she ordered.
*Please do not touch anything.* He said before going.
Despite his warning, Caroll could not take her eyes of the amazing suit hanging right next to her.
She resisted the temptation and waited for about 10 minutes. But her patience grew heavy.
*Have you found my boots yet?*
No response. She took another look at the suit. The zipper, open, left the shiny interior exposed. It felt like it was begging to be used. A suit of this quality would be very expensive, she tough. She might never have such an opportunity again.
*Hello !!!* Still no response.
*Oh... What the hell...* in no time, she undressed herself and grabbed the flask of body-lotion on the counter.
*Strange... What is that doing on the counter ? It seems a bit too convenient* But she had no time to think. There was little time before the owner would come back, and she did not want to get caught naked.
She used the oil, and sinked in the rubber suit. H

The steppe stretched to the horizon. Far away, just out of eye's reach, a city lay; parts of it rubble, parts of it ruins, parts of it remembered. The steppe itself made spines tingle and throats thick. It was like an ocean with the water removed, and it stretched on past visibility and imagination. The boy shuddered. He felt his spine tingle.
He had hoped to see something. It had been ages, years since he visited. Was it so different? Did geology move so slowly, or was this the work of men's hands? The steppe was dry, and weary. Amethyst stared across the devastated plain; this was once his homeland. The ruins of villages bombed years ago, or houses stripped away by the harsh, sometimes radioactive winds stretched across the steppe, pockmarking it with ugly blemishes. If the decay continued, someday it would be pristine - with his memory gone, any evidence that there were once thriving towns and cities in Sector 3 - his homeland - would be dust on the wind.
All this he w

The Headmaster grinned as he woke from his trance, sleep finally over-taking the girl and allowing his spell to take effect, unleashing the nightmares on her. The grin faded, however, when the sound of his alarm spell being triggered reached his mind. He rose quickly to his feet and stormed from the laboratory walking briskly through the halls toward the girls room. It was probably just Garith checking in on the girl, he told himself, but better to investigate personally. In any case, he was anxious to see her again, if only to witness the effects of the nightmares hed unleashed on her.
So anxious was he to see her that hed already opened the door and taken a step into the room before he realized that something was wrong. Through the dim light that crept in from the hallway, he could see that the girl herself was lying at the edge of his alarm spell by the door, and that her cage was open.
Virtually ImpregnableThe "girl detective" was a cliché.Virtually Impregnable3 years ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
"Phanny, surely you're hungry."
It probably had a case of divergent evolution alongside the "gal reporter" stereotype. Lois Lane and Superman would probably have gotten along with Nancy Drew and Ned Nickerson just fine.
"Perhaps you would like a bite?"
That it was a probably a cliché as far back as the Prohibition era in America did nothing to stop its prevalence. Other variations would introduce further aspects; more independence, more supporting characters, the damsel in distress scenario.
"I won't be this nice all day, Phanny."
"Phanny," as she was temporarily named, was curious as to just how nice her captor, the Evil Dr. Mauser would be. While giving one of his front operations in Granite Falls an exploratory perusal, Phanny had fallen prey to Mauser Industries and its henchmen. It wasn't long afterwards that she was grabbed, captured, brought before Mauser.
He had a particularly devious high-backe
