Redesign of Marvel's Doctor Octopus.

...well more of a reimagining than a redesign. I wanted to give Doctor Octopus a more inhuman look, so I imagined that he recieved major injuries in the explosion that created him; in particular losing his legs, scorching his lungs and recieving serious burns to his face and arms. This version of Doctor Octopus replaces his legs with the mechanical tentacles, and utilises breathing apparatus, making his hi-tech costume a kind of life support system.

One of my favorite Marvel characters. I think he's deserving of a good redesign. The redesigns he always gets seem to always go extreme and loose the character.
I just wanted to add some pop to his usual monotone red costume so I knew I had to add lines, I just needed a concept. A pitchfork fits the visual his costume evokes. That is a downward pointing pitchfork on his torso and arms. I then wanted to do something else with his cowl. I started thinking about him being blind and not needing eye holes. Some type of detailing similar to that of the Spider-Man 2099 mask that does not really have eyes but only outlines that there could be, would be perfect. I just hoped it would work on a cowl. So the horns were worked into the design and an added bonus was that it worked itself into another downward pointing pitchfork motif.

This is my submission for Project: Rooftop's current Captain America redesign contest. I don't like how it turned out - the only thing I'm proud of is the mask with red eyes. I don't think they'll feature me, so here it is.

My entry for the Project Rooftop Logan contest.
Forgot to post this until I saw Plati's post.

The guys at PR were nice enough to give me a second prize.

Enjoy!

Redesign of Captain America for Project Rooftop's upcoming contest. I'm really excited about this one, as Cap is one of my favorite characters.

Please give me some constructive criticism, I still have plenty of time to redraw this in time for the contest. I'd like to at least get an honorable mention.

This is meant to be a modern day Steve Rogers. In heavy combat he'd wear a helmet.

My submission for Project Rooftop's Wolverine: Look Sharp redesign competition. As with my batman pic from a couple of months back the colouring is dreadful, but at least the design is a bit more original. I wish I had time to do a more detailed version though. Doh.
