Flexible Workplace: Part 1Days are long at MagiCont. You spend an 8-to-5 job where you have to supervise a large group of willing workers in a company about the unexpected. For the first couple of days this is relaxing, but afterwards it gets repetitive and tiring. Wander, noticing this early on, allowed me to express my individuality in the workplace, which gave me the ability to train myself in contortion for four hours of a nine hour work day.
When I wake up in the morning, it's around 6 in the morning and the sun has barely come up. My neighbourhood is asleep and my house is completely quiet. During the night I usually curl up into a ball, bent backwards with my head just below my rear. The stretch not only helps me prepare for the next day, but also tightens my body up so I don't feel too loose to sleep. To help me feel comfortable in the stretch, I don't wear pyjamas but underwear, since it doesn't chafe.
This day was different. The previous night I was feeling extremely loose, even in the tight backbend,
Leotard 0: A Night out in TownI generally don't go out at nights for entertainment. Heck, I generally don't go out of my house at all. I work at home as an independent programmer, making games and applications that earn me a steady income. BASIC, PYTHON, CSS; I know them all and use them all quite often.Leotard 0: A Night out in Town5 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
I'm one of those people that enjoy contortion. Not really the kind that are on those pay-to-view websites or the circus, although I do join them occasionally, but the kind that appears as a hobby. I do enjoy standalone shows and acts, mostly because the art is demonstrated flawlessly and not as a time-waster.
This would explain why I was out. I had noticed on an upcoming contortionist's website that they were doing a performance in my city. She was an extremely flexible contortionist that always seems to wear the one leotard when performing. She was quite an attention-grabber to me for unknown reasons, and that's why I went: to see her performance.
The venue was quite small. After all, it was very old and low-quali
Flexible Workplace: Part 2Things are extremely quiet in MagiCont. You do about half an hour of work, possibly even an hour on a busy day, then the rest of the day is spent doing whatever you want. Even Natalie and I don't have much to do, even in our position. Because of this lack of work, I often overlook the other workers' activities.Flexible Workplace: Part 25 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
I fill my life with magic almost all the time. From the moment I wake up, to when I sleep two days later, I use magic to help me with daily activities and entertainment. I do things from watching television with my head as I wash my body in the shower, or working on paperwork telekinetically. I even practice magic during working hours, both for personal enjoyment and research.
During one of my busy days, where I had an hour of work to do, I separated my hands from my arms and got myself a glass of water from a nearby water cooler. Unfortunately, my simple want caused me to get distracted from my work when Natalie arrived and started trying to talk with me.
I wasn't in the mood f
Leotard 1: Flexibility, NotPerforming is just a way to show my abilities to the public. Not my real ones, unfortunately, but the ones given to me by my favourite leotard. My real abilities aren't really interesting, to tell you the truth, so that's why I used the leotard.Leotard 1: Flexibility, Not5 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Coming to this venue, therefore, was a wise decision. No-one expects to tell what they've seen, due to the size and unpopularity, and only the true fans have an interest in it. The location of this venue, however, was not decided by me but by my late grandmother. She told me that strong hunches could be brought to my leotard, and others like it, and that these were often true and influential on fate.
In fact, going to the venue in this city was a hunch brought to me by the leotard I perform with. I felt that I was going to meet the man of my dreams in this city, and it was almost perfectly correct. I did meet a man, but he wasn't of my dreams, but then again I won't see a unicorn anytime soon.
I noticed this man during my performance, actually.
Leotard 2: Spatial LinkDuring the drive to my flat we had discussed a couple of details, like our names and interests. I already knew that her name was Christina Chiraeva, but I had to tell her that my name was Scott Brighton. We shared a couple of interests, like our passion for contortion and a slight interest in magic; hers only being slight after experiencing it for so long.Leotard 2: Spatial Link5 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Of course, by the time we managed to pull up and get her chest inside we didn't manage to talk much about each other, and we were both anxious to try on the leotards and see what magic powers they contained. I was new to the whole idea, but I knew that I at least was able to experience contortionism first-hand without training.
I often imagined myself in contortion poses, imitating the stretches the poses would make mentally. It felt quite real, if only for a fraction of a second, but at least I had a rough idea of how they felt. With the leotard that allows the wearer to contort without known limits, it was a great opportunity to fi
RedI cannot believe it. Such angels have appeared in my life, despite how meek I was. The only thing that had me know it wasn't a dream was when I looked to my phone in the morning.Red2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
At the top of the contacts list was Grace and Gwen. Were my eyes deceiving me?
I had a quick breakfast and while being driven to work, I called them. The exact beautiful voices I remember, and Gwen was first.
"Arthur? Well, look who's coming back around" I can tell she is just as pleased as I was that I called.
I then hear the phone get brought over to Grace. "Why hello, Arthur." It seemed Gwen's mother was glad I called, too.
"Mom, I had the phone first!"
"Don't worry, I'll put him on speaker."
Their small conflict over who is going to talk to me was enough to make me blush, a lot. "So, uh, you two work at the ice cream vendor's cart, right?"
"Nope. We actually own the cart. We'll be there at your lunch break on weekdays, think you'll come over?"
Meeting them again would be perfect. Gwen's teasing about my ob
