This is my first steampunk prop I've made. It's a old USB device. All clockwork parts are clued ^^ Hm, after I was finished I realized it would be cool to have some wood on the inner frame. Too late! But with a little bit of digital magic... you can see what I mean in the bottom right corner on the picture.
I'm just too exhausted to do any more work on this. Except for the final coats of acrylic sealant and branding the recipient's name into the reverse, this is finished. It's selling for about $100 all told, along with the headphones which I haven't priced yet.
It comes pre-loaded with about 5.5 hours of "Steampunk" style music, including 5 Abney Park albums. Because I'm awesome like that.
**PLEASE NOTE: This work is *NOT* "Cosplay". Cosplay is an action, whereas what I am featuring here is a COSTUME. Please do not call my work 'cosplay'. Thank you for understanding.**
Just a progress picture, since I've had requests to post them
I have most of my armor shaped and mounted and painted with a base coat of hammered silver. Now that it's mounted I can see that I want to trim some stuff since it's sitting rather close together. I also need to tweak the shaping on the chest since it pulls away from the body rather than hugging my shape. This will eventually be painted in a burgundy accented with golden yellow. The kama I threw on just to see what it looked like, it will be dyed burgundy eventually. It's a piece of suede leather.
