i will not leave you
alone under this rain
and fear of this life
until the tears have dried
i will not release you
from my hold
because you need me
you have waited so long
for some kind of love
and now you have it
and now life waits
what are you waiting for?
let this be the time
you finally take my hand
and let me lead you to life
what are you waiting for?
do not run from me again
because this may be
the last chance for life
my heart breaks for you
for the life never lived
for the times never spent
without pounding fear
do not let fear
dictate your only life
and dry up what is left
of the boy within you

when i was never alone
and you never let me go
tell me what life was like
when the sun bathed in the sea
and the fish danced on the waves
tell me how we used to fly
when the clouds laughed
and the stars kissed our faces
tell me how the horses ran
when the moon was full
and the wind whisked their manes
tell me of the sunsets
when the sea was wine-dark
and your heart was as a bird
tell me how we used to touch the sun's rays
when our dreams were a sweet reality
and time was held in the palms of our hands

Chills shot up Lance's spine as he entered the hospital behind the paramedics. He hated hospitals - not that he couldn't go in one, but he cringed at the eerily quiet halls smelling of disinfectant. Never mind that, but every time he was in a hospital it was because someone had been hurt. Sure the nurses and doctors could bring comfort - yeah, right; I hate nurses and doctors - but the thought that someone had to have been harmed before they had to go to a hospital was not at all pleasant. Seeing as Rex was involved this time . . . well . . . it hurt.
His jaw tightened for an instant and he glanced behind him at the woman who'd hit Rex. She'd come along and he was dearly wishing he hadn't let her. She wasn't making anything better by being here and he highly doubted Rex would awaken soon. Morgan kept casting glanc

I lost the moon in the thundering, starlit waves
And the stars scoffed when I looked skyward.

Whispers drifted down and cackled in my ear,
Angels and Shooting Stars - 1"First impressions are often the truest, as we find (not infrequently) to our cost, when we have been wheedled out of them by plausible professions or studied actions. A man's look is the work of years; it is stamped on his countenance by the events of his whole life, nay, more, by the hand of nature, and it is not to be got rid of easily."Angels and Shooting Stars - 14 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

The sound of flesh hitting flesh resounded through the gymnasium's basketball court and a few moments passed before the sound repeated itself. Hissed words reverberated around the large, mostly empty, room and a basketball previously employed in the air and through the net bounced forlornly to the floor. The four who had been using it turned and faced the back of the room, their eyes immediately seeking out and finding the source of the noises.
Two boys stood next to the back wall. One of them, a slender, petite youth, was backed up against it as if looking for protection from it. The ot

I will remain forever young
While you grow old and die
So I cannot stay
Even though you
Are my life
That which many think a blessing
Is naught but a curse
I will not stay
To watch you grow old and die
I've shed my tears
My oceans have run dry
My throat is lost in dust
But my heart is yours for eternity
I know not why I gave you my heart
When I knew I would have to leave you
But that which I have given . . .
I will not take it back

When the mountains split open and bled fire
When the oceans opened their deep caverns
When the blue scroll of the sky was shredded
But I lost you in the cataclysm
And with the loss, we both left our dead world
For the fiery flowers of the heavens
Where freedom awaited in ecstasy
Now we are free
To find what was once lost
To gain what was always ours
And to bring back the life
We never had

The morning after his encounter with Rex, Lance's thoughts were wholly focused on the boy. Where had he come from? Where was he going? Where did he live? Was he safe? Was he still living with his abuser, whoever that might be? Did he have someone to go to for help when he was hurt? Anything? He looked well taken care of at least by way of his clothes. He was too skinny to be rightfully healthy and he'd obviously been harmed in the past, if not the present. Maybe his current residence was at a therapy center. But who was to know?
I am to know. I'm going to find out. It might creep Rex out . . . but I have to know if he's safe or not. I'd feel eternally guilty and like a bloody
6 - Break Away: WhisperThat whisper is always in my head. I don't know why. But it's seriously annoying. I know it's just me being that stupid whisper . . . but I hate it just the same and I can't stop it. Darn bunnies. Anyway, it's annoying. But I already said that. Okay, just so you know, that whisper tells me not to love. Seriously, it does and I say seriously too much, so just ignore that word . . . Thing is, I'm scared of love. I'm scared of the rejection that might come with love. That 'might' is a weasel word, you say. I say shut up. You have no idea what you're talking about. No offense. You know, I'm not going to be pathetic moron and go into a blabbering fest about my life. I'd much rather not it's kind of boring anyway. The main thing you need to know is . . . my adoptive family didn't want me when I came back. And don't ask what 'coming back' is or I'll send my ninja bunnies to murder you.
So. I have a twin named Morgan I know you're thinking that I'm ram

Startling right before you?
You paused short to see,
Your gray eyes on my blue.
Pain quickened in my wing,
My feathers trailed in the dust.
You approached at my cheeping,
Me backing away in mistrust.
Gently, softly, you knelt,
Hands reaching, grasping.
It was my own heart I felt,
Beneath your hands racing.
You held me carefully,
Fingers brushing my head.
Still I trembled fearfully,
My courage but a thread.
Slowly, you draw me close,
Holding me to your own heart.
Now my pounding heart slows,
Slowly, my fear does depart.
Trust blossomed as you held me,
Cradling gently my broken wing.
Peeping up, I chirped boldly.
Softly, to me, you began crooning.
