For the past week it had been raining on and off. Mitsumis mother simply blamed the infamous Colorado weather for the oddity, but Mitsumi had her doubts. It was probably just her over-reactive imagination.
Mitsumi disliked rain. She couldnt ride her bike through her hometown. She couldnt walk to her friends house, which was a few streets away. She couldnt go to the outdoor mall. Although it did give her an excuse to play video games all day, shed already beaten most of the ones she had. The ones she hadnt beaten had gotten boring after a while. This sucks, Mitsumi said that Sunday, staring out the window at the pelting rain, I want a real adventure.

Mitsumi opened her eyes. The sky extended forever above her, dotted by islands of land. The grass swayed around her. It took a few moments for her to realize where she was.
She stood up and looked around. Although the sky was beautiful, she noticed a greater proliferation of purple clouds around her. The conditions here were worsening. It almost broke her heart to think about it.
Who had spoken? Mitsumi turned around, surveying everything around her, but there was nobody. It had been his voice, all right, but he was nowhere to be seen.
She noticed something on an island in the distance. It was a house his house! But compared to where she was, the house was up-side down
