Give time the benefit of the doubt after so many betrayals,
For a moment I'd like to understand what's evading so many trains of thought,
The constant kind, the night trains, the dream lands,
And if it were not, then the voices that have lived for so long,
The ones that tend to hide.
The secret murmurs tapping quietly against the peace that's been created,
Hard enough to shake, soft enough to slowly and gently torment what haven is left.
And if description is release then describe me,
Describe what is left, what has been, what may or may not be,
What to make of right now,
Right now goes without description,
Although a train has left and another will come,
This one is stalled, determined,
Another sleepless night, passengers quiet and loud.
Simple Mind, Simple BookTurn your face to me, let me see the diminish in your eyes,Simple Mind, Simple Book5 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
The quality of which I so greatly wish to penetrate through to me,
To feel your pain as it pierces, burns, hot through my chest,
Let my eyes dilate to the sheer scrutiny your gaze has put upon me,
Let me know you deserve it.
A sick relief to so many nights,
So many nights that linger still in the back of a vacant drawer,
Not entirely there, not entirely gone,
A merciless reminder of what used to be, what never will,
A break of silence between every pill.
Why still flog the horse that has ceased to feel,
A subtle release to everything that was real,
Simple flaws, simple minds, simple redeeming pictures, still kept in the back of a book,
A book one day I'd like to go back and read.
Hurt is no longer real... Why does it hurt.
