The good things about mammoth watercolor paper:

~absorbs and blend colors well
~provides ample space for detail work
~Much easier to clean up mistakes on

The bad things:

~too mammoth for my petty and pathetic scanner of wimpydom

I drew this for my mother's boyfriend of a year and a half-ish. He's awesome, likes video games, has an endless supply of action films, is short, tubby, and bald, has a great sense of humor, and best of all, he's a drummer who loves sixties music. He has passed the 'you'll never be good enough for my mom but you're alright in my book' test.

drawn with a dixon ticonderoga
fine-lined with a millenium 010 marker
colored with copic sketch markers

A present for my little brother who requested a dragon drawing. I kind of got carried away. When I told him I was making two, he requested fire and thunder, I added the lightning as an afterthought
p.s. I don't like the color scheme, it gives me a headache. It honestly reminds me of McDonalds happy meals, when they put pixel art on their fry containers and cups

Europa 2

Running out of disk space on my tiny 80GB HDD. Waiting for the next odd-numbered OpenBSD to come out, so I can install it on my new 500GB Scorpio Black. With obsd, even numbers are more likely to cause trouble, and updating the thing is an act of masochism. I wouldn't even cast a single glance at Linux if obsd had a proper update infrastructure, but they don't want one because they don't want to attract whining noobs.

Elliot does so love to drive his rocket car. He appreciates all the roads the people from before laid out for him.

Elliot's one of the main characters from the stories from our post apocalyptic Canadian wasteland, which we've collectively called Post Futurism.

The line art for this was drawn and inked in ball point pen. The ballpoint's an experiment. I (the one who drew the image) usually have a very controlled line style, and it was interesting to see the difference of effect.

The lines were done for months before we had time to complete the colours and upload it here. It's been long enough that my colouring style's changed a bit, so, to my (the colourist's) eyes at least, it's a bit of an odd mix of eras. I really dig the extra bit of texture and variation the ballpoint pen gives the lines. I tried for a more vibrant look to the colours in this one. I think I could probably push it further. The photograph I used for the sky came from Lost and Taken (a great free stock site). I painted over it a bit, mostly added colours.

We've been having a tough time finishing things lately. This semester's classes have been all-consuming. We have a lot of stuff partway complete. We're working on getting back into the habit of more regular uploads.
