The Cheshire Pony was created for friend of mine who ADORES The Cheshire Cat.
This mischievious Pony is grinning a huge grin as she thinks of all the naughty things she has done. Her symbol is of course the Cheshire Cat, mainly inspired by the Disney version of Alice In Wonderland. Just like the Cat, this Pony has big yellow eyes, a gorgeous stripey, glittery coat and naturally, striped hair. (Rehaired with hair from CustomPony and with donor hair from another pony). If you look closely, you may notice that this cheeky girl has matching striped eye shadow on!! And imagine this - Her whiskers are fully posable!!
On a personal note: I would swear this Pony is cursed. She has been stripped and repainted quite a few times - on both her symbols and the stripes. (last count: 6 times for her symbols and twice for her stripes). When I was sculpting her smile the first time, the support 'strut' holding her mouth open came loose and her smile was less than smiley. So I resorted to using off cuts of corset boning to hold her mouth open. Her hair was a nightmare to rehair - she broke 4 needles in the course of rehairing her.
The quote which inspired me the most:
"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked. "Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad." "How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice. "You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here." Alice didn't think that proved it at all: however she went on. "And how do you know that you're mad?" "To begin with," said the Cat, "a dog's not mad. You grant that?" "I suppose so," said Alice "Well, then, " the Cat went on, "you see a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its tail when it's pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore I'm mad."
