Honestly, Sweetheart...Honestly, Sweetheart...11 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Honesty is not violence, sweetheart
But with that said,
I feel obligated to explain myself...
I, for eternity, will wish for a life in which
the walls sweat joy forever after
And if lies were the cause of this heat,
it would still never be warm enough.
How deep do your waters reach, Ms. Excitement?
A decision arises; a choice is to be made
Will it be ignorance for bliss
or knowledge for misery?
A war has been raging since the dawn of man
Humanity pinned against civilization
Honesty is not violence, sweetheart...

This silence consumes me, it can't be the end
of our starcrossed, vindicative game of pretend!
This climax is futile, my love only grew,
your path leads to me while my road leads to you.
My wings are now weathered, a voice fades away,
The sound of that voice was what led me astray.
I'll follow it blindly past all that is true,
and I'll only pray that it takes me to you.
Led by a string through the blackness of space, far past the stars I could picture your face.
Slowly that string has become a thick chain, and now all those stars only draw fourth my pain.
The rust on that chain has now poisoned my heart, and now I have found that I'm back at the start.
Until you accept me my heart remains free, but do me a favor, and steal it from me.
Until time itself starts to grow old and slow,
my black, tainted blood will continue to flow.
You may know my motives, yet can't see my goal.
You'll rip out my brains, yet you can't steal my soul.
A song in the distance has made my heart weep,

I cry this cry of despair tonight,
signalling the end of my messenger dove.
My guardian angel has fallen from flight,
as I realize my future of empty love.
Losing you never brought me a tear;
I just miss the situation.
I know my love for you was sincere;
It wasn't just an infatuation.
My nights are now filled with sleepless dreams.
Vivid memories from the shadows of my mind.
Tears fill my eyes as I envision such scenes,
recalling the feelings I will never again find.
I've given up on faith in a significant other for me.
I've given up on life as I now become a memory.

Do you remember?
A smile so sweet
It would make each day better
And make you smile in return
Do you remember?
A hug so tight
You would want to hold on forever
And feel safe
Do you remember?
A feeling so special
You would never be cold
And let the warmth surround you
Do you remember?
A tear so painful
It would hurt you inside
And make you cry as well
Do you remember?
A night so perfect
You would sleep in each other's arms
And be content
Do you remember?
A whisper so soft
You would lay even closer
And listen to only that voice
Do you remember?
All those precious moments
They remind you of something even more important
The strong bond shared between the two of you
Now you can only dream
Of that time you were together
Those memories are worth it all
Just one smile
To see that face light up
Just one hug
To keep the other here a little longer
Just one feeling
To take that person in a dear embrace one last time
Just one tear
To even see a sad emotion again
Just one night
Darkness ComeDarkness Come11 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Legend of the Father;
Two brothers born under a demon moon,
one is innocent,
fair and sweet,
the other's darkness hewn.
One is cursed by day,
the other cursed at night.
One misses the human hand,
for the other it is life.
and darkness go,
and a mortal life is taken.
Now they find it is by god
that both have forsaken
One soon sets his sight to glory,
to battlefields of blood and gory.
The other sets his sights abroad,
to fertile land and paths to trod.
and others fall.
one has them all.
While night brings moon,
and moon brings curse,
at least, he thanks,
he has no thirst.
and darkness go,
and neither yet has died.
Though heaven knows
by their own hands,
how hard it is they've tried.
The last of civilization falls,
to his crimson hateful hand.
The hills grow deep,
at night like sheep,
his people fill the land.
Man becomes his slave,
a puppet on a string.
He becomes a master,
lord to everything.

The Man of Eighty ExtremesThe Man of Eighty Extremes11 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
Along the road of broken dreams
Trudges a man of eighty extremes
Taking his time to look back
He winces upon the wintered tracks
Upon the journey he found himself lost
Pointing to nowhere with his fingers of frost
The snow then melted from under his feet
And on his way home he became perfectly beat
The setbacks sparkled like stars in the night
Even for a champion it was a daunting fight
Then out of the rubble he managed some peace
Until the trusted sawbones imparted their grief
Again his battered sails aimed for the shore
Fooling his mind peaceful well beyond its core
The seas were quite kind in those days of delight
Then misfortune exploded above the glorious height
He tossed and turned and was discovered prone
A young hand he was unexpectedly shown
Museums and portraits had become his way
Searching for color with every new day
Exploring beautiful places upon this earth
His tattered soul had been given rebirth
Only a tragedy could derail his course
And it came from a most incredible s

I started this poem at midnight
with cigarette smoke choking my skin
and the outside air clogging up
my cold lungs.
The damp floor stole my seat, so I just stood in the dark
I see nothing-ness, just black with the occasional
pale yellow moon clambering into my view.
I like how eyelashes curl upwards
and the blue of your irises, but that doesn't matter,
not now everything has squeezed into shadow.
And the clouds -
well they just hold onto happy things,
letting go of the ugly
hard-hitting rain drops
and gasps of wind.
Don't laugh but sometimes
I think I'm like a pomegranate,
too many bits and pieces
and I'm slipping out everywhere,
leaving a trail of sweet-peach sadness
on every floor I hit.
Something about callous atmospheres draw me in.

Will you remember me?
Remember the game?
Remember the words said,
In the brief moment of passion.
Or am I just another face?
Another notch in the belt.
Another boy left alone,
After falling for your touch.
After you, the locks to my heart
Can't seem to close properly.
Break in with just a sweet word,
And rape me from within.
Just tell me you need me.
If you saw me tomorrow,
Would you stop and smile?
Would you walk by in a whisper?
Or would you touch me,
In the ways only you posses.
Is this love or lust?
If I bared myself to you,
Would you kiss me or kill me?
Either way I would smile,
And want to be near you, with you…
As you take the gun from my hands,
Kiss the tip; hold it against my chest,
And tell me you hate me one more time.
I only close my eyes and wait for you to
Fuck me one more time, you've won.
Pull the trigger with love, we're done.

When Solidity Expires
When solidity expires walls come crashing down.
You cry a cry of despair hoping to convince yourself,
that reality is just fantasy, where angels fall to the ground.
Their climaxing decent brings you false hope;
they're not here to help your pain
they're on their way to a place called hell.
A home I wish not to claim,
A place I wish not to dwell.
Fortitude is sapped as solidity fails,
for is that not what that means?
These senseless words that string a tale,
forge my words into a clear scene:
Not many understand my condition, the reason why I feel this way.
They probably care not to hear my words, to listen to what I say.
My strength is gone, and this poem explains, what happens when solidity expires,
You reach a darkness, beneath the surface, where everyone becomes a liar.
The cause for this is none the less a loving heart once broken,
To love no more is what I get and that's my deserving token.
Most of my work is from another perspective, but this one is sadly tr

The Tortured Artist
He sits so alone in his window,
Watching the people pass below in the crowded streets.
Wondering if they live like he does,
If they could ever feel how he has.
Could they comprehend the pain?
He sits so patiently, so sternly
With a pen in hand
And a torn piece of paper in front of him,
Thinking, feeling, imagining.
A girl below trips and falls,
Nobody gives her a second glance.
He wonders how the world can be so cold
When they could be so compassionate.
Staring out through the dirty glass,
He questions life and his purpose.
Angry with his mind,
So creative yet he cannot create.
His mind is a torrent of pain,
Logic, angst, sorrow.
Dark thoughts and dark times.
He wonders why he is this way.
Why can he see what others cannot?
Annoyed with the world,
He looks too his room,
Scattered with lyrics and sketches,
Paintings and poetry.
The mind of the tortured artist.

Unfaithful are the streets
There to stab me in the back
Rape me in the gutters
Before the railroad tracks
Cars all pass me by
Their lives separate, but intact
In a world of millions, I'm alone
Just past the railroad tracks
As the world passes over
And the world grows around
The railroad tracks rust over
When the train makes no sound
A trail always to follow
When lost in the great abyss
And abandoned by those
Who'll easily dismiss
My feet trudge over wooden planks
Barely there past weeds and grass
And in the distance ghosts appear
Mere shadows of the past
They protect me from the eyes
The few that may see me pass
I hide behind the boxcars
On the lonely railroad tracks
The fading gang graffiti
A poor art so full of wealth
Provides a little wisdom:
"Suckers, live for yourself!"
So worn by wind and rain
The long-lived signatures
The glory of the symbols
Show what the artists have endured
A whistle in the still....
I hope silently for the sound
So I can hop inside a car
And escape from this

De cada centímetro do meu corpo
Porque não posso sentir-me assim
Às voltas com o sentimento morto.
Consolo-me nas estrelas e no mar
Na angústia e no sofrimento contido
Com esperança que eles me possam guiar
Por algum caminho com sentido.

Que nem ontem nem hoje resultaram comigo
Mas com a certeza que elas te farão lutar
Pela felicidade que eu não terei contigo.

It was a year and some odd months ago...

A few minutes seemed like days had passed,
and he was still not finished.
A few hours seemed like years had gone away,
and he just looked at me with a smile.
I was shivering uncontrollably,
but he was warm.
It was even hot inside,

I screamed no. He laughed.
He said "Kiss me!", while forcing me down.
He was only playing his act. His role of sweet seduction.
I was weak, and he was strong.
I pushed, but he pushed back.
I screamed, but he held me down.
No one was there. They couldn't hear my silent screams.
He picked me up and threw me in his bed.
He took off my belt and threw it down somewhere in his room.
He told me I was beautiful. He told me he loved me.
I knew it was just a lie.
I don't remember that night well.
I only remember one line coming from his mouth...when I was crying.
That was the first time I had ever cried in front of any

That's only in the right now.
A hazy future's becoming very clear.
Soon everyone will see,
That we're supposed to be.
Anyone could say that we will never last;
Anyone could knock us down.
Anyone could doubt us, but they have no proof.
I'll scream, "I love you!" from the roof;
Cause that's the honest truth.
Who cares if miles separate our touch?
That's only temporary.
Nobody else could ever mean this much.
I'll soon be next to you,
Doing everything you do.
Anyone could laugh and say it'll never work;
Anyone could put us down.
Anyone could tell us the future's never known;
But with you I'll never be alone;
And that's just set in stone.
You know, and I am sure that you got it right;
We got so lucky finding out on the first night.
It's only the lonely fool,
That's bound by love's cruel rule.
Anyone could say that we're just in a phase;
Anyone could beat us down.
Anyone could try to push us off cloud nine;
But knowing I am yours and you are mine;

Destiny awaits purposeful divine intervention,

Fate watches with indecisiveness.
Hymns of ancient folklore break the grim horizon,

Knights of the realm embark on their final quest,
Not of the Holy Grail, nor was it by the king's orders,
Sailing through nature's plains on their loving friends,

Praising and praying with supposed holiness,
Their journey is doubtful and judged by many,
Hope guides them under Her wings of forgiveness.

Meditating and pursuing the very ashes of totality,
