So I noticed that I had placed 2 coalition symbols at either end of the ship...and I noticed that they were in an interesting spot that lent itself to a swath of color around each...sort of like a flag...and then I thought about ships in history that had done that...and then I thought about the fact that the Coalition are evil...so I came up with this...

The new standard of the Interystem Alliance.

I based this one more of the UN flag.

The 4 stripes represent the 4 key elements of the government, the President (outermost stripe), the Judiciary (the second outermost stripe) and the two houses of the legislature (the Senate and the Council of Lords - the two broken stripes).

The olive branches are a carry over from the UN flag (which served both the first and second UN), representing a new era of peace and cooperation. The two octagon rings represent the original sixteen member nations (13 star systems with sol having 3 member worlds and Centauri having 2 member worlds).

The eight pointed stars represent the 8 cardinal directions in interstellar travel (Galactic North, Galactic North East, Galactic East, etc. - relative to the core of the galaxy with the perpendicular being a line through the galactic core through earth referred to as the "Terran Line"

The Starwolf-Class dreadnought. Once the undisputed Sovereign of the Stars, the dreadnought use to be the symbol of a nation's power. However, with the arrival of the Admiral-class superdreadnought, the prowess of the dreadnought has been reduced. However, as with the tick tock of a grand father clock, the arrival of the Starwolf-Class breaths new life into the dreadnought concept.

The Starwolf, constructed and launched a year after the announcement of the Admiral-Class, was conceived with one thing in mind - create a full sized ship of the line capable of keeping up with battleships and battlecruisers. Designers at the Bureau of Ships (BuShips) not only met these expectations, but exceeded them.

Starwolf is the first warship in the Alliance to combine the Generation Seven Zero-point Energy (ZPE) core improvements with the advantages of the tenth generation gravity impeller design and eight generation compensator concept. Utilizing a tiered focusing impeller, the Starwolf's gen10 impeller creates a series of focusing walls that can be actively manipulated during operation. This design, first introduced on the Block II Renown-Class battlecruisers, reduces graviton and anti-graviton bleed by a full twenty percent over Starwolf's predecessor, the Triumph-class.

In addition, Starwolf is equipped with the gen8 inertial compensator. This advanced design utilizes field harmonic amplification to produced a much larger compensation field over traditional designs. This allows the Starwolf to counter accelerations up to 1100g, only 100g shy of the Renown-Class). This is only amplified by the addition of the gen7 ZPE core which improves efficiency and graviton/antigraviton generation by a full seventeen percent, giving the Starwolf significantly longer legs then her graviton/anti-graviton hungry superdreadnought cousin (*note, block II Admiral-class will incorporate these core improvements to increase range - the Admiral already utilizes then gen8 compensator and gen10 impeller so no acceleration improvements are anticipated).

These speed and longevity improvements translate into a warship that has altered the fleet operation concept. Traditionally, dreadnoughts were - much as superdreadnoughts are now - limited to activity in core systems, serving as system defenders. However, with an increasing number of superdreadnought hulls under construction to serve as core world sentinels, more and more dreadnoughts have been freed for operation away from the main battle groups, and Alliance admirals have seized upon this opportunity.

Starwolf dreadnought squadrons are rapidly being assigned to fast attack battlegroups, traditionally lead by battleships. Serving as a heavily armed core of these groups and carrying full size capital grade mass drivers and heavy missiles traditionally limited to slower moving ships and starfortresses, Starwolfs have proven extremely effective in wargame analysis, even proving effective in taking on superdreadnoughts in numerical parity. In addition, these ships' large fabrication facilities and internal operation centers mean they can operate largely independent of supply lines.

However, evaluation of the Starwolf-class continues; and many Admirals are arguing that a trial by fire is the only way to prove this new concept - a fast dreadnought.

Update to the mighty King Robert. Finally settled on how her engines will look (this is the first large design to break from the Impeller design my ships have always had in favor of the new Grav Repulsor Tech I will be writing up on). Hope you all enjoy.
