A present for my mum on Mothers' Day, she'll be flying interstate to visit my sister and I this weekend. =)

It is from a book uninventively called Kusudamas, by Everdien Tiggelaar. The model itself is uninventively called 'Kusudama 10', hence why I felt the need to give it a slightly more (but not by much) creative title.

6 pieces of 14.85x14.85cm paper/thin cardboard were used to make this. (If you know the dimensions of a piece of A4 paper, you'll know why.)

It was somewhat difficult to assemble, so I may have accidentally inhaled copious amounts of craft glue in the process.

Perhaps I shouldn't mention that it was so frustrating that I nearly resorted to using blu tac. Well, okay, so I did.
But it didn't work. =P

I really need lessons in using this stuff.

Usually when I try something new I have a lot of fun and get reasonable results but this was a definite exception. The sugar paste that I used to ice this cake was a pain. I thought it would be so easy to scult but its heavy, saggy, doesn't stick to itself, dries and starts to crack on the surface very fast. This was my second attempt at the green icing, at first it went to crap very quickly (like old, dry playdough) and I got so annoyed with it I ripped his skin off and threw it in the bin XD

The scond attempt was slightly better and I managed to make a frog out of it but it's still very dry and wrinkly and shows the seams where I tried to attach parts.

Anyway.. this is the end reult. An ugly old frog cake for my dads Bday- I used a book for this cake so some may recognise him.

This set of round beads has a base of white encased in pink that has been embellished with scrolls of intense black stringer. The scrolls have been left raised on the surface. Perfect for valentines day earrings :)

A little trinket box I hand-painted as well as sculpted the little octopus topper.

The octo was sculpted with Sculpy and painted with sparkley green enamel. The box was bought plain, the base color was spray-painted green with the designs painted in gold enamel.

I sold it in my Etsy store, [link]

Just a closer version of the one I submitted earlier...
take a look at it full sized - and you can see the lovely texture of the Jewel beetle wings. I set two very very tiny watch gears on them. The wings here are pretty much the way they'd be when someone is wearing the piece - vs in the other shot you can see how they "open" a bit more. That's why there is a gear in the centre - allowing a bit more flexibility. :D

They're finally here! :boogie:

:megaphone: Introducing the very FIRST samples of the Greeting Cards, as promised that were on their way, from the FIRST Shelter Project announcement,
which contained ALL the information inside this deviation, HERE:

and also in THIS Sub-Gallery, HERE:…

And NOW, the GREETING CARDS are also available!

As with ALL my images, ANY image that is purchased as a PRINT directly through Tea Photography that is of ANY of my animal images, will have a portion of the proceeds donated to the main shelter that I volunteer for, and NOW, the SAME goes for ANY GREETING CARD that is purchased WITH an image of ANY of my own animal images! :w00t:

Anyone can purchase:

:bulletorange: A Single Greeting Card

:bulletorange: A Sample Mini- Stationery Set of 2

:bulletorange: A Mini- Stationery Set of 4

:bulletorange: A Small Stationery Set of 6

:bulletorange: A Standard Stationery Set of 8

It would be more economical PER card the bigger the stationery set.

And a portion of the proceeds goes to the MAIN Animal Shelter where I volunter, just the same as always with regular prints of mine, with animal images, which is beautiful news, :w00t: since the NEEDS there are just so major. :hmm: :rose:

:bulletpurple: HOWEVER, I definitely DO other images besides animals for the greeting cards!

In fact, I will also be doing many floral designs with my numerous floral images! :flowerpot::flowerpot::flowerpot:
[ :note: EDIT: I've done MANY already! :) ]

that Greeting Cards by Tea Photography are fully customizable.

I can and WILL be doing many kinds of images on the front of the greeting cards!

It will be exciting to get into the conceptual images that I have, and the very many other types of images! :w00t::w00t::w00t:

In fact, when they are ordered, a person may either order by theme, "I want 6 varieties of cats." or "I want 8 different flowers that you think would be awesome."

OR, "I want 4 animals and 4 flowers to make a set of 8."

[ :note: EDIT: This has been working out famously already! ]

they can be very very specific and give me very particular images that they actually want, hand-picked by the customer via title or thumbcode, who looked through the galleries themselves.

Like I said, they really can be THAT FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE.

:bulletblue: ON THE INSIDE:
Let's not forget about the INSIDE of a Greeting Card! :D

The card can be left blank, if that is what the person chooses,
The inside can ALSO be customized, with quite a few types of messages, even some tailored for different times of the year, seasons, celebrations.

And of course we can mix and match as best as possible, anyway, for a set, too.
[ :note: EDIT: Buyers have already done this, and it's no problem! :) ]

FOR EXAMPLE: "I would like, two blank ones, and two 'Thank You' cards, for a total of 4."

:bulletgreen: WHAT? You don't use, or MAIL snailmail cards to anyone, EVER, anymore?? :hmm:

Well, a small set of stationery sure does make a nice birthday or holiday gift for someone that might appreciate that sort of thing. It's possible, you never know!

My young nieces, go crazy for it!

:bulletblack: More info. will eventually follow on my website:
TeaPhotography.Com once it's finally ready sometime this fall. :please:

EDIT: The WEBSITE OPENED OCT. 1st, 2010.

AND, there is NOW much more INFO. there about The Shelter Project. :boogie:

:bulletred: Please, FEEL FREE to contact me ANYTIME, via NOTE, or email: for more information regarding greeting cards, or prints.

:thanks: :rose:

well my backyard not the wood, but we have plenty of trees

a 3/4 suit (a tail, head and paws are a halfsuit so adding half a body makes it a 3/4 suit)
it is a river otter but could easily pass as a sea otter.
i very very much want to take this to the monterey bay aquarium for pics (3 hour driave from here) in front of the otter and kelp forest exhibits but i don't know if they would let me.....

So-called 'coydog' headdress (it's actually a coywolf), photographed by Eagle, modeled and created by NaturePunk.

A 3:00 AM trip to 7/11 while wearing one of these babies is well overdue.

During the photoshoot, we ran into a couple of women who stopped and took my picture on their camera phones. They found it lovely and oddly fitting for the Halloween season.

Still on the fence about selling this guy, but I'm thinking I'll use the money toward my next big project, so it's worthwhile.

Note: I did not kill this animal.
Don't like it? Don't look.

In other news, I got a wet-tanned lioness pelt in the mail. She came from a wildlife park in South Africa where she was part of a breeding program. She had been de-clawed to prevent her from beating up the young males she was mated to, so those are gone, but I got the hide for an exceptional price as a result. She will be my personal headdress along with Teva. I feel that I resonate better with big cats than I do with canids, so this is an amazing opportunity for me.

I plan to mount her with an open mouth panting expression, though I could probably rig something up so that her mouth opens up around my face like in the image above. We'll see how it goes when the form arrives and I have something to get my hands on for brainstorming!

And yes - I am shirtless! Woohoo!

Don't like taxidermy? Don't look!
