Coraline: Ghost of Summer 3Day 2
Coraline awakened, and immediately became aware of a rocking sensation. She blearily looked around, confused, and realized where she was. She was onboard a ship! Looking out the small window in her room, she could see the ocean. Still, it was early, and she thought she should get back to sleep. But she was too excited, and quickly ran to the top deck, wearing her shawl.
It was chilly, but definitely much warmer than it was in Ashland. There was the smell of maple syrup coming from the dining hall. Inside was an unset table with a few people milling about it. There was a clock, a great antique clock with Roman numerals for numbers and a fancy designed pendulum. It appeared to have stopped ticking.
After about ten minutes, the rest of the passengers wandered in, and a breakfast of pancakes and Belgian waffles was devoured. Coraline went to see if the pool was open. A new sign was up. POOL CLOS

Murdoc grumbled and answered the front door of Kong Studios. A postal worker said, "'ere's yer package, mate. I'm gonna need a signature."
Murdoc scribbled his name and took the smallish FedEx box inside. On the outside, in neat handwriting, "Auditions for Gita; Onnanoko."
"What the hell does that gibberish mean?" Murdoc complained.
Russel and 2D walked into the room.
"Wot's going on, Murdoc?" 2D asked.
"We got a package, face-ache! What's it look like?"
"Hmm "Russel consulted a book on Japanese he was reading. "It says, Guitar, girl."
"Oh, goodee, summafink to replace that Paula!" 2D said happily.

Murdoc was busy assembling Android Noodle's arm, which had completely locked up, refusing to move even the slightest bit.
"Stop squirming!" he said irritably. He was busy extracting broken and mangled fragments of what used to be the joints of Android Noodle's arm.
"Yes master," she said, a hint of shame in her voice.
"We're gonna need to keep you safe when you're charging."
"We could install a security system with the leftover parts. BY MY CALCULATIONS, YOU ORDERED 10% OVER THE REQUIRED AMOUNT."
"Good idea. We couldn't go without a few extras, in case something was broken by the idiot postman."
"Yes master. Perhaps after we're done, you and I can " She gave him a provacative wink.
Murdoc considered this. "Possibly, my dear girl." He continued to extract cracked pieces. "Someone really effed up your bleeding arm," he said, grunting with the effort of pulling out a particularly well-lodged fragment. The android's arm went limp. Murdoc picked up the new

Murdoc scoured Plastic Beach for hours, searching for 2D. He found no trace, and ORKA was missing! His £20K boat! He ground his teeth and searched for Dave, the engineer to fix the power.
"That'll be £200 and a cup o' tea, chappie," Dave said.
Murdoc grumbled and handed him the notes. Then he went into Android Noodle's cupboard to see if she was okay. It wasn't a pretty sight. Wires were cut and spitting out sparks. A hose was oozing purplish goo all over the floor. The android's arms appeared to be slashed or clawed so that the mechanical framework be seen, the skin peeled off like a potato's. Her hair appeared to have been attacked; it was a tangled mess. The back of her shirt was torn off completely, showing the many Matrix-like sockets, several of which were crushed in such a way it was impossible to plug anything into them. A flash of lightning revealed a silhouette on the screen. It was triangular, with thin arms and legs, and a spiky, horned head. Murdoc frantically looked around. The silhouette was gone. He began to head for the recording studio the get a weapon when he bumped into 2D.
"Face-ache! Why are you up here?!" Murdoc shouted.

Noodle lay on her bed. The mask stared at her hollowly. She angrily picked it up and threw it in the chest. Tiptoeing, she went to the door and listened. She heard light sobs from outside. Guilt settled in her chest. Great, first thing I do when I'm reunited with my love; I make him cry. She rubbed the bruise on her jaw. She knew this would happen. All she wanted was for 2D not to worry. And she had failed at that.
Outside it was quiet. She went into the rotting chest, shoving the mask out of the way, and pulled out a notebook. Inside there were all her notes except one page. "El Mañana" was missing. The music and first drafts were there, but the final copy with the dedication was missing. She wondered if she could ever play any of those songs again. She needed her guitar.
She went to the door and listened again. There was a mumbling noise coming from outside. She cracked the door very slightly. 2D was muttering in his sleep.

Finally, a chance to get out of the drab and hot (and sweaty!) grey uniform of Ashland Academy! Coraline ran to the bus and the ran off when it reached her stop. She dashed upstairs to find some money. She had $3 exactly. She put it aside and picked out her outfit for tomorrow. She found the star sweater from the Other World (made by the Beldam, but still nice!), and some jeans. She became so excited, she ate all of Charlie's mush he had made. Murdoc had his plan to finally get rid of that little creep, Jimmy Manson. All he needed now was Noodle to agree.
"So Noodle, if you do this video, I'll let you go for some rest and relaxation without any problem at all. I've got a nice place booked for you in the Maldives. You can bring 2D if you want."
Noodle reluctantly agreed to this deal.

Upon a dark and dreary night
Death came knocking at my door,
But I invited him within.
Said I, "How about we play a game?"
He produced a chessboard. "Sounds splendid," said Death.
I was felt a thrill; only the best were invited by Him to chess.
We sat down at my ebony table for our chess,
Set up our sides, we did, with pieces dark as night
And pale as my opponent, Death.
With the wind whistling outside the door,
We began our amicable game,
The gears of our minds turning within.
Yet the minutes passed and within
An hour the fabulous game of chess
Had not neared completion, an agonizingly slow game,
Taking what felt like all night.
My opponent, with a bored sigh, turned to look at the door.
"Perhaps we can make this interesting," whispered Death.
"Perhaps we could make a wager," continued Death,
"Your soul against all the riches within
The folds of my cloak," said He, still looking at the door.
He produced many wondrous objects from His pockets, chess

"Wot's that, mum? I'll come down for brekkie in five." And he gave an enormous snore.
