Ricky Bobby eased his chair onto its hind legs as he relaxed comfortably at his desk. The teacher at the front of the room was writing some number problem out on the board with great attention to detail, but Ricky just settled further back in his seat and was prepared to go to sleep when he felt someone prodding his elbow.
It was Cal. "Ricky," Cal paused and waited to see if his best friend would respond. "Ricky?" Ricky lifted one eyelid to show he was awake and listening. "Are you gonna race tonight?"
Instead of responding directly to Cal, Ricky opened his other eye and glanced over at Carley. She grinned lecherously back at him and ran her hands obscenely down her legs. "Yeah, I'll be there." He said without taking his gaze from his scantily clad girlfriend.
Cal, oblivious as always to Ricky's lack of attention, smiled happily, "Alright!"
