Hoof beats. That was all that was heard throughout the storm as the knights rode through, the leader carrying the small girl in his saddle. He was glad that she had passed out; little nuisances like her were rather trying during this age. He had seen her behavior frequently in the village. Her mother was no exception to that rule. Ethendrin should've known better. How long has she had to prepare for this day? 7 years? Yes, I believe so. The knight mused to himself. Even I accepted it long ago when they prophesized my girl being the next Keeper. He frowned. "You may hate me forever, little one, but this is for the good of all. It's bigger than all of us," The knight whispered to the sleeping girl, frowning underneath his helmet.
After what seemed an endless amount of riding, the knights came upon an opening in the forest. They reigned in their horses, some of the horses resisting their masters and trying to buck them off.
