a protester is throwing back a tear gas grenade at the front line barricade of yesterday's clashes in gümüşsuyu. the amount of gas you're exposed to while doing this is very dangerous, even with a gas mask.
in the face of what happens every day, the word protest appears euphemistic. what you are seeing here is not a demonstration but a crowd defending taksim, so that people can demonstrate and 'occupy' there. yesterday saw a lot of police provocation in order to lure protesters out of the greater taksim area and arrest them, but some strong voices were able to hold back most of the less strategically minded who wanted to throw stones at the water cannons waiting beyond the barricades (a rather futile excercise).

How to (sort of) get Truetransparency on Win7A lot of people ask me how to make TrueTransparency play nice with Windows 7.How to (sort of) get Truetransparency on Win75 years ago in Personal More Like This
The short answer is: You can... well sort of.
Here are the general problems (I'm going to assume people with Win7 are on the 64-bit version, or Win7 x64).
1) Explorer windows are not skinned (or any 64-bit programs for that matter).
2) Explorer windows skin, but the toolbar is completely transparent.
First, you will need both TrueTransparency x86 and x64.
For your convenience, here is a zip with both (x64 can be hard to find): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7100381/TrueTransparency.zip
To skin all windows, you will need to run both the TrueTransparency.exe in the TrueTransparency x64 AND TrueTransparency x86 folders.
At this point, all windows should be skinned (with the exclusion of "special" windows like Google chrome, Command Prompt, GIMP/Photoshop, Task Manager, etc.
You may notice that the explorer toolbar is completely transparent. There are two workarounds for this.
One involves removing the too
Vertically Scrolling TextScrolling Text w/TransformationMatrixVertically Scrolling Text7 months ago in Personal More Like This
Removed dependence on third party Scroller.dll plug-in
Requires Rainmeter 3.0 or newer rainmeter.net/cms/
Overview: Example skins demonstrating vertically scrolling text & using TransformationMatrix on string meters.
Premise: Create a skin that will scroll the text vertically in either direction. Then transform the scrolling text to produce "dimensional" effects.
Two skins are offered along with this description; ScrollText2Shrink.ini and ScrollText2CenterZoom.ini
ScrollText2Shrink shrinks the text as it progresses up the skin and back down.
ScrollText2CenterZoom maximizes the size near the vertical center.

I opened a new DarkArt Collection - a group, where I want to gather deviant's DarkArt -, for creating a showroom, for bringing together an assenblage of your best dark works, so that everybody can get inspired and pick up some favs for making a feature.
Submissions are not possible, (I hate this procedure of accepting and declining), I will ask you, I will invite your works and it would be nice if you take part in this project.

Huge Update!Hey Guys!Huge Update!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
So many of you have been sending me messages asking me why I haven't been as active on Deviant Art.
So here is a big update:
For those who don't follow me on
Since January I've been working as a product ambassador (promotional modelling) for Nissan at all the Auto Shows around Canada (No I'm not in a bikini in front of the GT-R, I'm actually quite knowledgeable about each and every vehicle from Nissan). January I was in my hometown Montreal and in Februar I was in Toronto. But March was just insane with Quebec City, Calgary, Ottawa and Vancouver all in the same month. One show left to do and that is Edmonton from the 18th to the 21st of April. So if you are from the area come pass by and say Hi!
In other news, I have been publ

barricades are the only way to keep the water cannon trucks at bay and protesters use anything they can find to build them.
in the night of june 02/03, a large crowd of protesters managed to put an end to being chased back from beşiktaş in front of inönü stadium / dolmabahçe. a hijacked crane turned the tables for a little while, pushing water cannon trucks and policemen back up dolmabahçe boulevard. the night ended by the police hitting back with full force from several sides, dispersing the protesters but unable to further penetrate the taksim area.
the taksim area has been "fortified" with se
Using bookmarklets for chromeAs requested by fatezo0m and geoogle, this is a journal for those that are interested in how to view any web/webapp in explorer frame without chrome UX. You can expand on this with bookmarklets, and you can read about those hereUsing bookmarklets for chrome11 months ago in Personal More Like This
It couldn't be any more simple really.. Once you are at the destination (web adress that is), hit these buttons, and set the shortcuts where you want them.
SETTINGS>TOOLS>CREATE APPLICATION SHORTCUTSWhen you open up the shortcut, it won't open adress in a chrome, but in explorer frame only. Chrome is still running! It's just hidden in the background. That also means that any plugins and add-ons you have will get activated aswell. if you expand on it, you can also load up custom css, javacsript etc. to customize the whole web

The Tales of Beatrix PotterThe Tales of Beatrix Potter3 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Cold winter evenings or blustery Autumn days had the soundtrack of my Mother's voice reading Beatrix Potter books out loud when I was younger. In fact, the wonderful children's books were the epitome of my childhood. The illustrations were just perfect and the stories, whilst simple, were mysterious and adventurous in their own way. Beatrix Potter was born in 1866, South Kensington, London. She was said to live a lonely life, being educated at home by a governess and so perhaps that's why she delved into a fantasy world of rabbits, geese and other traditional animals.
Beatrix's illustrations come from her copious studies of her own pets, and the animals that roamed the gardens of the places in which she holidayed as a child. The fascinating fact was that Beatrix's illustrations became greetings cards before her books were created. I see her drawings on cards in shops now and I always thought that it had developed the other way around. Her first boo
YoutubeHi guys. Just letting you know that I recently made a youtube account exclusively for my photography work. I'm gonna upload videos of the photoshoots, and maybe some making off, lens reviews, etc.Youtube2 years ago in Personal More Like This
For now, there's a video with pictures taken with my super cheap Canon 50mm 1.8. After 5 years, I think it's time to go for the f1.4, and this video is kind of a tribute to that beautiful plastic toy.
Feel free to subscribe there, if you want.

Finally, Raindropmemory official portfolio site!Hello guys,Finally, Raindropmemory official portfolio site!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I humbly present my official portfolio website...!
Before this I have to use art website as my portfolio (deviantART, Behance), but found that the usability of these website not that good for portfolio site, for example, it takes too many click to gain access to each image in the gallery, and it's cumbersome when you have to send the link to your client, who most of the time never use these art site before.
My Design approach:
I need simple, *no-nonsense* portfolio website, and this website is my answer. I don't care about bell-and-whistle or cool-looking cropped images gallery (which will take another extra click to view it), I just want something that just work, that even my grandma can use it!
Since I have no skill in web coding, I still have to use blogging platform, Tumblr, in my case, with modifed theme.
This website w

You can't say you can't!As a child I was a bright student, always used to grab among the first 3 positions in my class, teachers used to love me (I was never a teacher's pet though) and my mom and dad (specially dad) supported me with his heart and soul. We always have guidance/influence from others in some way or the other. I was fortunate enough to get them I guess. But there comes a time in your life where you need to move alone and build your own responsibilities, you need to make your own ways, you need make your own decisions and you need to choose the right path. You can't say you can't!2 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
The world is cruel enough to pull you down every time you want to climb up. But you can't stop there. You have to move on. You can't say you can't!
I have seen a lot of phases in my life in the last 25 years. In deviantART everyone says they like the way I talk to people, the way I treat them and the way I guide them. May be I shouldn't use the word "everyone", perhaps it should be at least most of them says so.
I get a lot of people coming to
