Here's a Great Gray Owl at the Jardin des Plantes. This is by far the best photo of an owl I've ever taken. I'm quite taken with it. ;)

This is the beautiful but deadly, Gaboon Viper (Bitis gabonica rhinoceros). This large viper is almost invisible among the litter of the African equatorial forest floor. Seemingly slow and lethargic, he can strike with lightning speed. Taken at the Memphis Zoo on 9-15-11.
