merlin: knight, wizard, princeUthur stared at the young knight. He never had particularly liked hedge knights. Though noble and just they had no king. No loyalty. They went where they were needed.merlin: knight, wizard, prince4 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
So it is hardly surprising that he was weary of this latest one. He called himself the forest knight. And he had just taken out 8 of Uthurs best knights. With out drawing his sword. And he had the awful feeling that if this knight had wanted him dead, he would have been dead minuets ago. His thoughts were fighting between dread dislike and curiosity, curiosity won.
"Sir Knight. Speak your piece and I will consider weather Camelot can aid you"
The forest knight named himself. Tristain of the forest lakes. Though of noble birth his father had accidentally loved a witch. His father had been disowned by tristain's grand father. He trained his son in many forms of combat so that he might one day claim his grandfathers title. Tristain had d

Gwenn stood just out of view. She had seen the newcomer barge past the guards. Had seen him knock them all out bring them down without even unsheathing his sword. He hadn't even bothered to look at half of them. She would have been impressed but hedge knights were known for their skill. After all if you have trained and fought with knight's form several kingdoms then you know how they fight. No. this one was good. Too good. She heard him mention magic. Not a wise thing to do. She saw Uthur sit up straight ensure what to do. No one as far as Gwenn could remember had ever had the nerve to stand in front of the king and admit to having a sorceress mother.
Why was Arthur looking at Merlin like that? At his, his hand. She had seen it before Merlin sometimes held his hand as if he had an invisible ball held in it, she never told him but she always had had the ridiculous notion that Merlin was a warlock.
She heard the young servant yelp and say Morganna's name she moved t

Merlin was pacing around his room when he heard a yell from the other room. So he went to look what was happening. When he entered he saw Gaius standing over a topless mask less Sir Leon. Merlin quickly altered his expression and took a step further in. clearing his throat so they knew he was there. Sir Leon quickly reached for his mask before Merlin placed his hand gently over the mask preventing him.
"Sir Leon, your scars are looking better. And I'm assuming the yell I heard earlier was a bit of chain mail being removed? Sir. How do you expect Gaius and I to help sooth the burns and scars if you put your mask on over them?" sir Leon went to speak but Merlin continued before he could interrupt "yes as the princes manservant I have no right to say any of this but" this time sir Leon managed to interject.
"Merlin. I know. I know your Gaius's apprentice and protégé. I know you have some skill when it comes to physic. But I just feel more comfortable with the mask on."

"Yes, Merlin, as I was saying-"
"Yes! Are you deaf? I've mentioned it about five times already in our conversation!"
Merlin heaved a small sigh, "No, you just never mentioned anything about a cousin before, so I was confused as to why he was suddenly so important."
Arthur shrugged, leaning to tip his chair back on two legs as he surveyed Merlin with a raised eyebrow. "So you don't know everything about my life, I'm amazed."
Pointedly ignoring this, Merlin turned back to the pile of armor in front of him. He'd spent the past ten minutes gathering the Prince's armor from various places throughout his rooms, wondering why on earth Arthur couldn't just take it off and leave it all in one place, as he assumed normal people did, rather than a gauntlet here, a breast plate there, all in all equaling more work for him. Although he wouldn't put it past Arthur for that to have been his motivation to do so in the first place.
"You did know about it, didn't yo

Merlin stood by the lakes Shore. He hadn't been here for a wile. He looked at the water with a feeling of sadness. He had loved Freya but he now realised there were things she hadn't told him. She had said that she killed a man in defence and his mother had cursed her, and yet, her brother has said his sister was cursed by their own mother.
"Freya? Um lake lass? Lake Lady? Freya you called to me in my dreams so here I am" he felt rather silly talking to the still waters of the lake. But then the smallest of ripples appeared and Freya appeared. She seamed taller than before and wore a crown of shells her hair was a bark green now the colour of wet moss. And her eyes were the clearest green. She drifted on the water to the shore she didn't leave the water merely stood on top of it.
"You took your time Merlin. I have called to you for a wile now." Merlin took a step back and almost tripped on a twig "Freya, I wasn't sure if you were real. It's not everyday someone y

Merlin sighed and pushed his chair back." IT'S THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY, ARTHUR!' Merlin protested.
Merlin walked down the hall into Arthur's chambers. He sat down with a big huff. He muttered to himself, " Merlin come polish my shoes!" He said in a rather mocking voice .
Merlin had just finished polishing Arthur's "stupid shoes" as Merlin liked to call them. He got up and happened to notice Arthur left his wardrobe open. Merlin smiled evilly and said, "Now it's my turn." Merlin walked over to his wardrobe and looked at Arthur's clothes.
" Arthur could use a change in style." Merlin murmured . He scooped up Arthur's clothes and went down the hall where Guinevere's chambers were. He went over to her wardrobe and took out Gwen's dresses, replacing them with Arthur's pants and shirts. Gwen came into the room

Merthur - Chapter 1A pair of polished brown boots hung from Merlin's hands as he silently crept into Arthur's room. The soft moonlight was enough for him to find his way around the chambers. Merlin paused for a moment, just taking in the sight of the prince. Sighing softly, he bent down and placed the boots beside Arthur's majestic bed.
"Merlin?" Arthur grumbled, one eye opening and pinning his servant with his sleepy blue gaze.
"I-I was just putting your shoes back, I polished them for you," Merlin stammered.
Arthur's eye closed and a yawn escaped his lips. He mumbled incoherently and Merlin realised Arthur was asleep again.
Without thinking about what he was doing, Merlin bent over Arthur, tugging the blankets up around his masters neck, and placed a soft kiss on his head. "Goodnight Arthur," he whispered, a small smile tugging on the corner of his lips.
As Merlin pulled back, a hand wrapped around his neck and

The dark hair boy wiped away the tears, which had sprung into his eyes; just as Arthur walked into the room. The boy looked down and went back to polishing his sire's boots.
"Those are looking good, Merlin." Arthur said taking off his worn jacket. "Looks like your finally getting the hang of It." he chuckled.
"Yeah, maybe." Merlin said flinching as his voice cracked.
"Are you alright?" Arthur asked stopping and looking down at his manservant.
"Yeah I'll be fine," Merlin said not looking up.
Arthur looked at Merlin and walked over to stand in front of him. Then he knelt down.
"Are you sure?" the fair-haired prince said. Merlin nods wanting him to drop the subject. "Look at me".
Merlin looks up at the prince avoiding his eyes. Arthur looked at Merlin in surprise he knew something had been bothering him, but seeing the tears roll down the young boys cheeks was really astonishing. Merlin was always so cheerful no matter what the odds.
Merlin shook his head and looked down.
MERlin sit down."Merlin sit down!" The warlock in question looked at the empty seat at the circular table. And shook his head "no, no I think not sire these seats were meant for specific people hundreds of years ago I wouldn't want to cause offence what with me being" he was cut off with just glare Arthur was giving him. Merlin sat next to Arthur and looked at the others gathered at the round table. He tried not to smile as he read the old English inscriptions in front of each of them he had to hold in the laugh as he looked across at Gwen's. 'Love' it seamed fitting seeing as she was sat next to Arthur. His thought process was interrupted as he realised Arthur had been explaining the significance of the table and had reached him.

Finally he snapped out of his reverie.
"I've been yelling at you for ages! What's going on up there?"
In truth, he had been thinking about the events of the day, what had led him to be in the predicament he was in now. But he didn't want Arthur to know that. Didn't want Arthur to know how frightened he really was.
"I was thinking how if I ever get out of this mess, I'll finally cut your hair like I've been meaning to. You look ridiculous."
Merlin was terrified. That morning Morgana had fallen deeply ill and when prompted, had gasped out that it was Merlin's doing; Merlin and whatever incantation she had heard him mumbling the previous evening. Of course, this was rubbish but as Merlin was the only other soul who knew of Morgana's magic, she felt she had to get rid of him. And then, just a few short hours ago, the king, upon hearing Morgana's story, had ordered Merlin's execution. Since then he had lain here, on the dungeon floor, knowing he needed to find a way out but unable
Merlin: Vigilante Sorcerer "For starters, I need you to polish my armour until it's shining, fetch some herbs from the forest, tidy my room, wash my clothes and muck out my horse." Through all this, Arthur was sat back in his chair, fiddling absent-mindedly with the tip of a dagger. "Oh, and you'll need to sharpen this." The blade dug a gouge in the table before him as he stabbed it into the wood. Arthur raised his eyebrows at Merlin in expectation, who was stood with the most incredulous look on his face. Merlin stumbled forward the blood and rain mixing together in the dirt not far from his feet. He steadied himself against a large tree running the back of his hand across his face in hopes of getting rid of the haze from his eyes. It didnt work; fresh tears welled on the edges threatening to continue with the rain down his burning cheeks.
His body still lay there not three meters from where Merlin now broke down. He slid to the ground his knees buckling. The wind whistled through the trees causing the rain to whip in a new direction bombarding his already swollen eyes. "I'm sorry, sire." Merlin wanted to laugh, but now was not the time.
Arthur's ahem undergarments were blowing in the breeze on the flagpole. Merlin had put them there, of course.
"Don't just stand there! Get them down!" Arthur was cringing. Oh, Merlin would pay for this
"How? I'm not that tall." Merlin was innocent in his tone.
"Climb, you dunce." Arthur smirked. There wasn't a chance in hell Merlin would climb a flagpole.
"What? Are you serious?"
"When am I not serious, Mer~lin?"
Merlin shook his head. "I point-blank refuse to climb a flagpole, sire."
"If you won't climb it, then I'll send you to the stocks. They should make that place your second home."
"Fine. I'd rather be there than climb that stupid flagpole "
Arthur huffed and looked up at the flagpole. He began to climb, reaching the top in less than five seconds. He removed the offending item and jumped back down to the ground, landing on h

Summary: "Merlin, stay in the tent!" Arthur shouted as the warlock tried to follow him to battle. But Merlin couldn't escape the feeling that someone was almost at death's doorstep.
The wind howled as the servants set up the tents for the king and the knights. War would rise tomorrow as nothing would stop this greedy kingdom. They wanted Albion and, of course, Arthur who had just united it with Camelot wasn't going to let that happen. So he and his knights had set out to the battle fields, armed and ready.
Merlin, of course, had come too even through Arthur had tried to stop him. Even if Merlin was the court sorcerer, he shouldn't always be saving Arthur. They had come to an agreement that Merlin would have to stay in the tent during the battle. If Merlin was a sorcerer he could manage to help out whilst staying in safety, Arthur had said and through Merlin tried to explain magic didn't always work like that, Arthur wouldn't listen.

Arthur didn't know what made him feel more distressed, the fact that Merlin was a sorcerer or the fact that he could end up burning on a pyre anytime. Of course he felt betrayed and knew it would take time for him to be able to forgive Merlin, but on the other hand, he was quite moved. After all, Merlin risked his life every day just with being by his side and saved him many times before. He never asked for credit and even now, he was worried about Arthur. He saw it on him. Arthur shook his head. Really, Merlin was an idiot. He should worry about himself. Fear settled itself in his mind. His head hit his pillow and he started drifting off, until something rather weird happened. His royal highness, Prince Arthur burst into his room, not looking quite himself. The cloth and his boots fell from the air and hit the floor with a thump. Merlin sprung out of bed, hoping that his master hadn't noticed that although, by the looks of things even if he had, he wouldn't remember by tomorrow. Or he would think it was a figment of his imagination.
Arthur stumbled around the room, almost tripping up his own feet. He seemed to have no balance or sense of direction. "OH!" Merlin blurt out, when he realised what was going on. Gwain had con

He rubbed his head, trying to fathom out why he feared waking Arthur this morning. As usual he would probably have something thrown at him, get called names and be ordered around, but that was nothing new. Nothing he wasn't already used too.
"Maybe it's because he was drunk last night..." the boy thought to himself, it took a while for what he had thought to actually sink in, "Wait, he was drunk last night? Oh god..." Yes, that was it. He had to wake a prince with a likely hangover and deal with anyone who had heard or possibly even seen what happened last night.
"Rough night?" was Merlin's greeting when he left his room and hopped down the stairs. If you call a couple of ste
