Project Educate - Animation - Pipeline Stage 1Project Educate - The Animation PipelineProject Educate - Animation - Pipeline Stage 13 years ago in Art Features More Like This
The Animation Pipeline in a thorough and highly detailed process from the start to the end of an animation, most particularly those with narrative.
I am writing this article to help those who don’t know understand the huge process in making animations, and such pipelines also run the same vein for films, tv, video games and any other similar media.
There are three main stages of the Pipeline - Pre-production, Production and Post-Production. After that it's in your hands, the audience, and the culmination of potentially years or decades of work can be shown in minutes.
The first step is pre-production. This is where everything happens literally before production (as the name cleverly suggests!) and involves a lot of reworking, experimentation, writing, rewriting, recording and lots of drawing.
Stage 1 - The Written Story, Treatments, Loglines and Scripts.<

This feature of Typography showcases works that play with negative spac. This recurring theme in both Art and Design, challenges our mind in sometimes such a subtle manner that it is simply amazing. Using negative space for words while keeping the text readable is a trick that shows us how our minds are capable of so much more.

PE DDs: When It's Not Always PositiveWhen DDs Go AwryPE DDs: When It's Not Always Positive3 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Daily Deviations, or “DDs,” are frequently held in very high esteem on deviantART. After all, what artist does not want his or her work displayed for more than 20 million viewers to see and admire? The benefits of receiving a DD feature include increased exposure for your work and a day in the spotlight for you as an artist. Many people therefore view DDs as badges of honor, awards that make them proud and validate the time they spend in our community.
Be careful what you wish for!
Don’t get us wrong-- DDs are wonderful for the purposes listed above. But, they can also bring a lot of drama upon the artist, especially if they are controversial.
Let’s talk about some of the sources of this drama.
Some people feel that people who post art-- and especially those whose art is worthy of a Daily Deviation-- should have thick enough skin to accept criticism as well as praise. They argue that criticism is part

After writing comes the art! Typically, you've probably sketched something beforehand, especially for any treatments and pitches.
So now we move on to the part everyone seems to get excited over: Visual Development.
Stage 2 - Visual Development
I will talk about a few processes here, and you dont need to do them all, however the more preparation before your production the smoother it tends to run. Especially in large studios where the departments are seperate.
Blue Sky is a process that, if used, will always begin a project. The goal of Blue Sky is to free the mind to all possibilities despite however crazy they are, in Blue Sky thinking, anything goes. The other way to start a project is to be approached by a writer, they will often have ideas for the look of certain things and will more than likely have descriptions of scenes and characters as part of the script or screenplay.
So if you don’t have a

You know what makes me sick and tired?
Why is it ok to depict nude women, sometimes quite blatantly (those make it on the front page…), but if you show MALE nudity… some people get their panties in a twist.
I get a lot of positive feedback, don't get me wrong. My watchers are cool and overall very nice and they watch me for a reason... I mean, look at my gallery... men, men and even more men, dressed and (half) naked men.
BUT then there is those people that have never even talked to me before... they send me notes, try to tell me how to do MY art, telling me I create porn and that naked men are ugly... I instantly delete shit like that, otherwise I would have a few quotes

Chrona's GenderAlright then, so we all know that Chronas gender is - as of now - undisclosed. None of us can honestly claim that Chrona is a boy or a girl for certain. However, Ive developed what I feel to be fairly definitive proof in favor of my initial impression and theory; Chrona is male. Now Im going to build and explain my reasoning, hopefully persuading those of you who arent sure yet, and making those of you who are adamant of Chronas being female at least question it.Chrona's Gender7 years ago in Personal More Like This
First of all, Id like to bring up the most obvious trait - at least for me - Chronas speech patterns. When listening to Chronas speech throughout the anime, you can hear that he refers to himself as boku, however he also had a tendency to end his sentences with yo or ne. Now, while yo and ne are typically seen as female speech mannerisms, they can be heard being used by male individuals. This portrays a very feminine boy
FFIX stories.(oops my last journal entry is older than I thought Sorry guys, I'm actually still alive! ...there, I give you an ass-long non-interesting journal to make up for this.)FFIX stories.3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Ahem. More precisely, FFIX battle stories.
So the last 2 - 3 days, Lou136 and I intensively dealt with FFIX (..this might be surprising but we also do other things in our lives ), its translation in different languages, its meaning and all the details in every corner of the game, and: We were battling. (I may warn you now, I feel I'm going to capslock a lot)
SO I TELL YOU DEAR PEOPLE. (oh, there.) Our first story.
We were trying to beat Necron. I suppose you all know that he is a big, big piece of AHEM to beat. Even with a decently leveled party with rather good abilities.
Which is due to his incredibly FAIR attack "Grand cross" ( funnily called "Supernova" in the german translation; hello there Sephiroth) which can one-hit-kill the entire party, and there is no protection against this.

Higginbotham Academy of Magical EducationChange in Terminology:Higginbotham Academy of Magical Education4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Around the time of the American Revolution, it was decided among the magical community that terms like "Wizard" and 'Witches" was too Old-World sounding. Like the Muggles around them, the magic community saw the New-World as a new beginning. Soon after American Independence from England, Wizards started calling themselves "Sorcerer" and Witches likewise called themselves "Sorceress". Since some older establishments like Salem Witches Institute has been around since 1644, the name was not changed due to tradition. However, modern girls attending the school refer to themselves as Sorceresses.
The Magic World in Philadelpha:
A hidden sorcery community is in every major city, and Philadelphia is no exception. In the Historic District of Philadelphia, located on 4th and Cherry. there is an old looking condominium called "Carrington's Boarding". It is believed by Muggles that the building hasn't b

Okay! Okay. Good. So TL;DR: Send messages to my YouTube PM box, not here.

A brief history of FellaWe all know Fella. If you have been a member of deviantArt for at least 1 day it's quite probable you've encountered him at least once, he's everywhere! And this shouldn't come as a surprise, he's dA's mascot after all! But how much do you know about him? Let's take a look at a Brief History of deviantART's mascot.A brief history of Fella2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Fella was brought to life thanks to switched, who designed him back in April 2001 for a mascot contest.
Back then he didn't look exactly as we know him today, his figure was a lot more basic and circular and his expression wasn't as human as we're used to today. However his main features remain, his mischievous look and his colors, most probably based on the site layout's at the time

PE - The Beef with BasesWelcome to the Beef with Bases article. This may get a little controversial, so put on your heavy duty hats!PE - The Beef with Bases3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
By now, we should all know what a base is. But just for a refresher - A base is a bald, naked figure for people to 'doll' clothes onto. Lately, more people have been making animal bases as well. Some argue that since they can't be dressed up, they aren't proper bases. But a base is a vague term to begin with.
Why do so many people make bases? What's the allure? Many people just start doodling and end up with a body they don't plan on finishing. So why let it go to waste? They fix it up a bit and let other people use it, so maybe others will find inspiration where theirs left off. Other times people are inspired by a pose, and want to practice their anatomy and draw the body. Sometimes people even have an idea in mind - say... a big set of mermaid poses! And more frequently, people see a piece of art t

Fennec foxes - why are they SO cute? PHOTOSHi!Fennec foxes - why are they SO cute? PHOTOS3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Can you believe that? Without any repair, "E" started to work just as I finished the thesis.
So stupid. Something or someone up there obviously hates me!
Yesterday I went to ZOO Olomouc - I saw SEVEN fennec foxes there. And you know how much I love them
ZOO Olomouc keeps them in two different exhibits. To be honest, both of them are horrible in my opinion - extremely small it took a fennec some 3 seconds (no exaggeration) to run around whole exhibit but they breed like crazy, so maybe they are satisfied. I somehow do not believe it - it is also very noisy pavilion with metal chainfence which makes VERY loud sounds everytime the visitor gets in. And the foxes just twitch in shock everytime the sound is made :/ I feel sorry for them. I usually play with them - those cuties are probably so happy they have something to investigate, that they follow your fingers and play with you through glass. I love them so much.
The worse exhibit is totally dark with only one strong la
