Ever go back to one of your old drawings and decide you want to revisit the subject matter?
Looking at this drawing from December 2007
[link] , I suddenly had an urge to draw Marge underwater in the kitchen again. Only this time, I implemented a few new techniques. First of all, I tried my hand at a much more realistic underwater pose, one that made it look like she was not only really floating, but also kicking her legs to stay in one spot. Then I tried my new Paintbrush shading method. I also used my new transparent bubble trick.
And then, after all that, I spontaneously decided to try a new method for making a scene look like it's underwater - a full-screen Gaussian Blur effect, coupled with my previous method of a semi-transparent layer of flat blue. It all combines together to make what I consider to be one of my finest-looking underwater drawings yet! What do you think?
