PE: How to Fix Animation 'Trailing' in GimpHow to Fix Animation "Trailing" in GimpPE: How to Fix Animation 'Trailing' in Gimp2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
So, you just made an animation in gimp on a transparent background. You go to save it, check the animation for last minute fixes, and BAM! The animation looks like this!
You are probably wondering, "What did I do wrong?" or how do I fix this?". Well if this has ever happened to you and you're still wondering how to fix it, than please read the rest of this tutorial.
Note that this tutorial is only guaranteed to work in Gimp (You can get a free copy at gimp.org). This method may work in other programs, but Gimp is the only program I have that officially supports animation.
So after you have made your animation, just save it like you would normally. If you normally just press the save button, make sure to press "Save As" instead.
If you use gimp 2.8. or newer, press "Export" instead of "Save as".
When It's HardHi folks! I realized in my most recent round of blogs that I've been a little quick to tell you all to put on your grown up panties, but this one is going to be a little different. Making art can be one of the most exhilarating things you'll ever do, but (and this is from personal experience also) 80% of the time you're going to fail. You'll spill your ink all over that glorious drawing. Oil from your hands will permanently stain only the portion of paper that was meant to remain a snowy white. Your computer's hard drive will crash or all your image files (all the WIPs especially) will get corrupted. You'll try something new and it just won't work out the way you envisioned. These things are the parts that aren't really spoken about enough, and so when they happen to us we assume that we're doing something terribly wrong. I'm here to tell you that we all go through these things and there's always a solution! When It's Hard1 week ago in Art Features More Like This

SpeechlessSeriously. The sheer horrifying nature of the internet has left me speechless for now.Speechless1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I live in a free country, where freedom of speech is an important matter. A long while ago, when I was still young and at school, we learned how to do a proper discussion in class. We were learned that provocation isn't that bad to get a message across, but that you should always have at least some respect for the people you discuss with, and talk with them with calmness and reason. If you lose your temper, you lose the argument. That's what I've learned.
The reactions I got on my last journal, however, have left met both sad and speechless. Because I'm unable to grasp how people can be so downright insulting towards a fellow human being. To a member of the same website....
My journal wasn't meant to tell people how much I hate fanartist. Because... I don't really hate them. I just feel sad about how hard it is to get attention for original work in the sea of fanart ou

I couldn't find the power to motivate myself today. Nor yesterday, or the day before.
The truth is; I'm doing badly. Very badly.
As some of you know I've already been having serious health problems for a while.
It all started in the first week of January, with a car crash. Another car hit mine from behind on the highway. My car was totally damaged and I was taken to the hospital for a checkup because my neck felt a bit weird. Initially everything was fine, I thought. The test proved no bones where broken. The insurance company paid up for my car (luckily -- it was very expensive). And I was allowed to go home. I did feel sick for the first few days after the accident, but I thought of it as stress, took a few aspirins, and went back to work the next Monday after that.
The first days at work were horrible. My head hurts, I felt dizzy and had a hard time focusing on my work. But again; I thought it was ju

Copying is NOT stealing......as long as you are fair and credit the original artist!!Copying is NOT stealing...2 months ago in Personal More Like This
Every artist once was a beginner, never forget it!
And most artists started with copying: from their favorite Mangakas or artists.
I think copying is one of the best ways to learn and to get a feeling for a certain style, because you observe and you reproduce it.
I recently saw someone who copies drawings from other dA artists. Copying itself not stealing. It's not the same like downloading and re-submitting under their names. No, it's drawn by them.
But when I told that person to credit the original artist, he or she just hid my comment.
That's coward, really. There's nothing wrong about copying, but it's wrong to deny it and to claim it as your own work. Then it's plagiarism and that's stealing! And even worse: making profit with it!
I think if you want to learn by copying, do it in your sketchbooks privately. But if you want to upload it, ask the original artists before if possible and credit them and link to the orig
A D'oh! AnnouncementOk, I know I said I be doing Teen Titans stuff but as my journal title shows that will not be the case. Thanks to me getting the 14th season of The Simpsons in the mail (mostly got it cause it has a Sideshow Bob ep in it and if you've seen my favorites the last few hours you will know that I am a big time Sideshow Bob and Cecil -Bob's brother for those who don't know- Terwilliger fangirl) I am in a big Simpsons mood which means there will be a fan-fic series dealing with the series (and yes Sideshow Bob will be in it quite a bit, come on the series is more fun when he's there) and pics that some awesome people and artists on here did for me (thanks again and in advance for those that are making me pics dealing with it) featuring my ocs and other chars from the show. Now not sure if it will be via a pic I requested or by myself (if I somehow can as I am still unfortunately lacking the art supplies -for traditional- and tablet -for digital- I need) but I will also at some point be puttinA D'oh! Super Smash Bros. PROJECT MProject M Website - http://projectm.dantarion.com/about/Super Smash Bros. PROJECT M2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Hey kids! Do you still own Super Smash Bros. Brawl? Are you a pre-Brawl Smash Veteran who wishes to relive the Glory Days of Super Smash Bros. Melee but doesn't wanna take the time to just go and PLAY Melee? WELL if you have a Wii & a Copy of Brawl made for the NTSC-supported regions (aka North America or Japan), a 2GB SD Card, and have absolutely NO Custom-Stages saved to your Wii or SD Card whatsoever, then PROJECT M IS FOR YOU!!
So what exactly is Project M? Well it's a mod of Brawl made by a team of professionals, and it's number 1 goal is to turn Brawl into a game that is in most ways faithful to Melee, mostly in the gameplay department. It's not intended to be a clone, but more of an improvement by keeping what made Brawl great, while including things that made Melee a phenomenon. For anyone who used to be madly in love with Melee (like yours truly), it's highly recommended.
The BEST part about Project M is

But no they waste their time clicking on it and give a hate comment...
I really am sick of it...But this still doesn't mean I am thinking on leaving because of this!
Noone doesn't have the right to stop you from what you enjoy doing. I love inflation. So what?
It's like when someone likes My Little Pony and someone sends a hate comment asking what's wrong with them.
We are all human and have rights to enjoy what we like.
I have met great people who enjoys the same things I enjoy.
For example I met this great guy :iconStarryWind2014: who became one of my great friends on this website.
He is also a great supporter and I thank him for it.

To my credit, I had a little help before starting the game by using a seed which spawned me in the middle of a NPC village, thus giving me shelter and resources to survive my first few treacherous nights. But after a few days had passed and I got used to the controls and crafting, I ventured out and built my own little hut and started digging away.
The first few nights were exceptionally scary, even though I was in a nice safe house. But gradually I learned that Creepers are less creepy to me now than they are simply annoying, and I find myself being more creeped out by those ominous Ender Men.
After digging a very inefficient hole near my house and gather up more resources (cobblestone) than I could handle, I decided to venture out and build a bi
Will you be my friend? The funny thing about people knowing you, is that many people want to be your friend. Will you be my friend?1 month ago in Deviant Events More Like This
"Will you be my friend?" is one those questions I get the most.
It's also one the questions I have to answer with a negative answer the most, because I don't like lying to people.
Like I've told in some of my earlier journals, my life didn't overflow with friendship nor popularity when I was younger. It was quite the contrary. I wasn't anything near popular, to the point that most people didn't even want to have anything to do with me. As the kid that got bullied, the few that dared to get close to me, more or less put their social status in the group at stake by even talking to me. And as a result, I guess I valued their friendship a lot. After all; I knew what they risked.
Coming from that sort of situation, friendship has always been a very important but at the same time mysterious matter to me. Something not be

As we haven't had one of those in a while (okay, understatement of the year), I thought we'd do a special this time. Normally, I give you 8 images and you have to use at least 2 - today, I'm going to give you 10 images and you have to use at least 3 (differenent ones, not three fire images)! And not just any stock images - these are the ones I used for my latest image Dragonsbane.
Your task is to create an image using as many of the same stock as you can, preferably with your outcome different from mine - before you say anything: I'm well aware that with the same stocks you can only do so much. If you like you can even try to do the same image (a little credit for the idea would be nice though), it is up to you. This is a challenge for you after all, and if you think you rather try to achieve the same result and work on your technique r
Tired of the Video Game IndustryWith the PS4 on the way, the gaming industry is alive once again reminding us how dull and boring and... wrong... it is. Here's a quick summary of some of the things I'm sick to death of hearing about when it comes to video games.Tired of the Video Game Industry2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Polygones = Emotion
I'm sure you've all seen the jokes, but this one stems from David Cage, who gushed over the tech demo of an old man's face for the PS4, remarking about how the only way to get "true" emotion is by bridging the uncanny valley with high resolution models, hi-def textures, and realistic shaders. "True emotion" of course can't be found in books, TV, or cartoons because none of those things can depict the exquisite details of a wrinkled face in true HD glory. I'm sorry to say this, David Cage, but if I can get an emotional response out of 16-bit pixel sprites from Chrono Trigger, or a pictureless book... your logic is faulty.
I'm really getting tired of everything wanting to connect to everything else. I know

I went on a walk today and thought about something. He never seemed sad or depressed. I realized that no one seems sad unless they show it but rarely to I see people actually show their sad side. Especially famous people. I saw on twitter and youtube people somewhat break down in a way that we have rarely seen. We don’t see this side because most people romanticize and assume that they are happy. We see the side that we base them off, not their true inner feelings and self. I know that I was always yelled at for being upset or crying or even being depressed so I hid that side of myself. I didn’t cry often and I would stay silent most times unless it was to be fake happy. I don’t like living that life. I want to be sad. I want to cry. I want others to cry when they are upset. I want to shout and scream. I want others to show how up

In the past weekend I hadn't so much to do. I wasn't that inspired to make art, so I decided to work on that tutorial that for which the idea had been floating inside my head for a while already.
Like some of you know, I've been giving drawing workshops every now and then for the past 2 years. Nothing too serious. I don't even get paid for it (aside from an occasional artbook or fanart drawing). I was there because of passion. Beca

White knightsI haven't spend much time on my computer last weekend, but enough to see that DeviantArt was kept busy by a troll that apparently did really well for as much as trolls can 'do well' on the internet. A little over 4000 pageviews in just 4 days the account is online proved not only the artists involved in the matter took offense... but apparently a lot of other DeviantArt members as well. Even those that seemed (to me at least) totally uninvolved with the troll or the particular type of art.White knights2 months ago in Deviant Events More Like This
For those that wonder about the issue; It's about Foxbun's rather cynical joke about the 'closed species' matter. (I'm usually against name calling here. But this account has intentionally created for its goal. It has been all over the site already and would've been in the comments within 10 minutes, even without me mentioning here. I don't provide a link, though. Use your search engine if you want to research it.)
The term white knight is to most older members of DeviantArt (or the interne
