Kyle didn't know why he remained so damn defiant. It only got him into trouble. It only caused him pain. It only made them mad.
But Kyle had tried playing the submissive card once before. And he decided it was worse. The abuse became more taunting, the smirks more smug. They had won. It made him feel helpless, weak, pathetic, useless. Even if he was all those things deep inside, he didn't need them to know it.
So he kept up his acts of defiance against his tormentors. They enjoyed trying to break him. He refused to scream at the lash of a whip or whimper at the tightening of his bonds. He would stay standing until they drug him to the ground. And if one of them got too close, he would take a dangerous chance of fighting back.
He was the only one of the cat demons being sold and traded that had been brought back as a "bad deal" more then three times.
But that was before he was sold to Caine. If there was anyone to break the cat demon, it wa

The boy moved, rubbing his forehead against the grimy floor. His tail made an attempt to thump against the hard stone floor, only succeeding in twitching a fraction. Gingerly pushing himself into a sitting position, the young hybrid turned his head, tensing as someone drew near to round the corner.
Yes, yes. Of course, Id be happy to give him to you if he doesnt kill us first.
Someone laughed at the mans joke. It wasnt an unpleasant sound altogether, but something didnt seem right. Caleb stumbled up, wobbling as the thick rope tugged at his ankle.
Well hes awake, be careful. the man nodded and watched him for a moment, studying him carefully while the footsteps of the other faded away.
Hello there. the smiled innocently, I believe youre Caleb?
He tried again, taking a confident step forward, Maybe you should answer me. You are Caleb?

A.E.D. woke up with one of the worst headaches hed ever had. He would know, hed had plenty of hangovers, and gotten into enough fights that he had quite the repertoire to compare to. His eyes were too heavy to open; the thought of lifting his arm was laughable if not impossible to comprehend. He'd woken up because Marcus, of all people, had meandered into his room to inform him that hed missed all of his classes. Hed slept in. Right now he didnt give a flying fuck. In fact, if Marcus didnt get the hell away from him he might find a way to lift his arm for the sole purpose of punching him in the face. Why did his head hurt so badly anyways?
"Get out Marcus," He grum
Almost HumanDanny's head shot up off the solid concrete, at a speed which proved to send spikes of sharp pain throughout his forehead. He cautiously rolled himself over, realizing he wasn't lying on concrete at all; it was actually a large- comfortable- bed draped in black, devoid of any color.Almost Human4 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Why is it so uncomfortable to me then? Danny thought warily and struggled to remember where he was.
He gasped in recollection and a touch of pain as memories came flooding back. His ghost sense. Fire. Screams. Blood. Himself- no wait, it wasn't him. Sam yelling, "Danny, it's your jerk-self!"
Dark Phantom. Danny's thoughts concluded. I must've blacked out- after fighting him? He looked around again, looking for any bits of information to confirm his suspicions.
Not receiving anything helpful except for the fact, Dark didn't like color. This room made Danny feel as if he was color blind. Black and white, there are no colors. A line from a poem rang out in his mind, although
A dark Guest IIIShe opened her eyes after a night that seemed the first one she was able to sleep completely relaxed and invigorated. The warm sunshine was tickling her face and a weak smile came over her lips, before she sat up and looked down at her stomach. The smile became wider and carefully she went out of the bed, feeling refreshed and powerful. It was a great day to start her new life, a day when she wouldn't be forced to stay imprisoned, a new life in a big world where she could hunt and eat whatever she wanted to. And the only barrier between her and this new world was this mage. Sanix was his name and he seemed to be very powerful, just the right victim for her.
She was a Doppelgänger, a creature that was able to take the appearance of other creatures and if she was able to eat them, she could also copy a part of their power for a time until it was completely con

Chapter One - Good morning
The soft silk brush against his bare frame as he rolled over in the lush bed. The cool, slick fabric was wrapped around his otherwise naked body, warming nicely to his feverish temperature within moments of making contact with his skin. The slender male rolled again, not having found his intended target in the first attempt. Hey, it was a big bed, a couple could get lost in the thing....
Finally he made contact with the object of his desire; another body, this one just as bare as the first, and even more so since the red comforter had slipped from the upper half of his body.
Jode smirked quietly to himself and snuggled closer to the man, placing a soft kiss right in the center of his perfectly sculpted chest. Aaron had a body that would have put a Greek god like Adonis to shame, and a face so perfect that it could only be understatedly described as angelic. Jode had always felt so plain in comparison to Aaron. The simple demon was unworthy of Aaron's l

"I'd Give My Soul"
Ivan came to a sudden halt as he reached the mouth of the allyway. He had long since left Aiden behind. The vampire's bright eyes could see perfectly in the dark gloom of the ally shadows, but for once, Ivan wished he couldn't.
Miles had Desmond in his arms, pressing Aiden's blood-soaked jacket to the fallen angel's back, trying to slow the bleeding. He looked up at the vampire, his brown eyes meeting Ivan's bright violet ones. "I'm sorry Ivan..." he said quietly as the vampire stepped into the ally, "'e's almos' gone...."
The vampire knelt down silently and he gently took Desmond into his own arms. The fallen angel's eyes were closed, but his breathing was short and ragged. He was pale from loss of blood and his entire body was trembling. Ivan felt unbidden tears slide down his cheeks at the sight of his broken angel. "Oh, Desmond...." He whispered.
Desmond's deep green eyes slowly flickered open. "I-Ivan...."
Bring on the Rain 35It was a half hour later and I was now seated on the stairs in entryway, trying my best to relax. Nate was situated on the step behind me, with my body between his legs and his arms wrapped tightly around me. He currently had his cheek pressed against the top of my head as he worked to calm me down with soft whispers and gentle squeezes. He had almost suceeded in his attempts when the doorbell rang and my nerves scattered once more.Bring on the Rain 355 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
"Brian! What are you doing here?" Alex exclaimed as he pulled the door open. Despite the fact that it wasn't my social worker, my nerves didn't calm at all. Granted, the brown haired teen that walked in first didn't seem so bad, but the middle aged man with the bad comb over and the shorter woman next to him put me ill at ease.
"You told me yesterday to come by to work on our History report," the chestnut haired teen replied, his eyes quickly sweeping over to where Nate and I were sitting. Nate's embraced tightened slightly, in an almost possessive manner.
Water Colours Epilogue"Hey, little brother," I said softly, as I wiped down the reflective surface of the name plate at the base of the angel statue. The statue was modeled after one of Kaoru's paintings. There was an angel holding a young man in his strong arms as he wrapped his wings around them to shield the one he was holding. My fingertips traced lightly over the name of my twin brother, tears coming to my eyes even though I had meant to keep them to myself today. I knelt there staring at Kaoru's name, wishing I was talking to him instead of this stupid headstone.Water Colours Epilogue6 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
"I know, I haven't been here often enough and you've probably been rather lonely. But everyone is still trying so hard to cope with you being gone. Ken-san actually left the dealing with of our mother up to the courts, instead of taking it into his own hands like he did with Dr. Gavor. You should have seen them when they finally caught up to mom and that psycho." I laughed a little to myself as I remembered all the cops and Kenichi's people a

The lesser demon walked nervous circles in the lobby. Of course this wasnt the first time one of the high demons was their client after all, they were the best company in hell if you wanted to find something or someone but normally the client wouldnt show up in person to fetch the find.
But Astaroth had made very clear that he was coming there in person.
Of all the arch demons running around in hell, why does he have to be the one coming here, and why do I have to be the one telling him the bad news? This guy has the patience of a starved dragon.
The lesser so didnt want to do this, even if he had only heard of the arch demons temper.
Outside the victorianic looking building that hosted the Infernal Search and Research Corp. said demon arrived. Actually he was in a relatively good mood because the phone call from the cooperations secretary just saved him from some boring and time cons

He was running, running through the ashen streets, tearing past the flaming houses. The screams echoed all around him and the piercing sobs from adults and children alike swarmed in the turbulent air. The cause of the terrible disruption was rampaging not far behind, roaring and cursing.
Rye suddenly found his mind had tricked him. He skidded to a halt in front of a crimson building, its burning timbers looming and croaking dangerously high above him. He could feel terror building up inside of him as he forced his eyes to look behind him.
The street seemed far away as he saw his true nightmare stalking him as it paced, slowly and purposefully, up the smouldering stone path. Its scales glinted harshly in the cruel light and its claws gripped the floor hard, creating screeches with every well-paced footfall. Its tail flicked casually behind it but its eyes betrayed its

Myron's office was one of the few places he hadnt been, staying away from the dark room.
