The true meaning of EasterA priest was teaching his Sunday school class about Easter. He took a seat on his desk in the front of the class and asked, “Who here can tell me the true meaning of Easter?”The true meaning of Easter1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Sean, a first-grader in the front of the class, raised his hand. The priest gestured to him.
"Easter means you get to eat a bunch of chocolate and candy and hunt for eggs," Sean said.
"Well," said the priest, "That’s certainly part of Easter, you’re right. But that isn’t the true meaning of Easter.”
Sophie, a first-grader sitting next to Sean, then raised her hand.
"Yes, Sophie?" the priest said, nodding encouragingly. "Can you tell us what the true meaning of Easter is?"
"Easter means you get to buy new clothes because all the stores in the mall are having their spring sales," Sophie said.
The priest chuckled. “That’s definitely a part of Easter. But it isn’t the true meaning. Can anyo

which doesn’t bode well for me because I have about a million things to do schoolwork-wise, and I’m also working late tonight. Consequently, I thought it fitting to have two cups of strong coffee instead of my usual one. It tastes good, I thought. I love strong coffee. Nothing like downing coffee that tastes like a liquefied Viking lumberjack. Be a man.
I am now sitting here practically vibrating from the unceremonious amount of caffeine that is currently dancing the tango somewhere in the region of my aorta.
I also have a strong urge to run around the neighborhood while yelling lines from “Braveheart.”
From now on, when the cashier at the Starbucks drive-thru asks me what I'd like, I'm going to yell, "FRRRRRREEDOOOOOOOM!"

(I posted this on my Tumblr page, as well.)
Call me a late bloomer. I'm 21 and only went on my first date a few months ago. I've always been so gung-ho about my education and starting a career that dating was just never really on my radar. So when a guy from one of my English classes asked me out, I stared at him, blinked for a few seconds, and then agreed, thinking all the while that there had to be something wrong with the dude if he wanted to ask me out. I had, after all, just finished talking about why I liked to paint John Keats' death mask.
But despite my trepidation, I went out with him anyway. It was okay. He was nice enough. But I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something off about this guy—aside from the fact that he incessantly texted me poetry, wh

That sounds like the title of a bluesy, country song that Huck Finn would sing to annoy his coworkers.
Provided that Huck Finn ever worked in a cubicle. Which would be the most hilarious thing ever.
Thank you all SO much for your condolences over these last few months. I know it seems like I've been writing one apologetic journal after another trying to explain my absence on here, but thank you again for bearing with me while I try to get things back to normal. Man, do I miss not being able to draw every day. It's absolutely driving me nuts. I need art. That sounds melodramatic, I'm sure, but I absolutely NEED art, and so the fact that I'm so busy with other things that I'm not able to really draw as actively as I'd like to is making me crazy.....er.
But I suppose there's a plus side to being so busy in that it's a nice distraction from all the craziness that's been happening this year. And I re

Raffle? Is that the correct word? Anyway, those of you that follow my polls know that I wanted to do something special for my 300k pageviews. And after... I think it was for 150k, when I was giving 3 months of premium, there were like 3 or 4 winners ( and I didn't have enough points ) I will do this with raffle instead (because there will be only one winner, a lot more people will have a chance to win, plus theres this thing with DA now where your pageviews gets counted when someone visits your gallery as well...) .
Sooo, to get a chance to win free commission (this style ONLY: ) all you have to do is fav this journal. You'll have time until I hit 300k on my front page, after that I'll use random.org to pick a winner
GOOD LUCK EVER

1.) "Will you please use my UTAU in an original song?"
Answer: No. Sorry, I only use UTAU I like or that I'm familiar with. I'm sure your UTAU is great, but unless I come across it on my own, your ASKING me to use it just sorta urks me.
2.) "If I write some lyrics in English will you translate them into Japanese for me?"
Answer: NOOOOO. No no no no no. I love you all but I get this question FAR to often. No I will NOT translate your lyrics for you. I have a hard enough time with my OWN lyrics, much less someone else's. It would be far better for you to go to someone who actually speaks Japanese fluently, anyway, then trusting me, who has had 3 years of Japanese in college, and then 2+ years of personal study.
3.) "Will you write an original melody for me? I'll then take it and write lyrics for it and make my UTAU sing it?"
Answer:Absolutely not. Unless you have EXPRESSLY made arrangements with me for a commissioned melody where I hav

For many of us, the first “art gallery” to command our attention (and constant, even daily, monitoring) in our
lives existed within the pages of the local newspaper. It was called “the movie section” and its ever-changing movie
advertisements were like little frames that rarely contained less than pure magic for young imaginations.
The Film Poster has existed since the earliest days of silent movies and the pulse-elevating excitement of the
first sight of an upcoming adventure, action, or sweeping love story that we might have only “heard good things about”
still packs a psychic punch throughout movie lovers today.

Once a story, or drawing gets moved out of featured it always goes into a corresponding group. If you're looking for Vash, look there, looking for cosplay, look there, etc. On rare occasions if someone is contributing a whole bunch in a short time, duplicates (like black & white versions that are later colored) will be moved immediately to their corresponding groups. Don't worry, they're al
Using HTML on deviantARTUsing HTML on deviantART4 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Hello and welcome to my little html tutorial. I've been working with html codes for a couple of years and I'm going to teach you what I know about using some basic html on deviantART. This won't make you a html expert or something and I'm not an expert myself but it will give just enough knowledge to make your journals, comments, news articles and other neat and lovely looking.
deviantART actually has FAQs about html but I still wanted to do this because they look a bit unorganized, in my opinion. Also, why would you want to look for those FAQs when you can just open this news article where you have everything in one place?
You may already know some of these, but I hope you'll find at least something helpful in this news article.
Some basic html

I Am Groot! So today I got a chance to see Guardians of The Galaxy. When I first saw the trailers for it, I thought that it wasn't going to be that great of an movie; especially since the commercials for it were played to much.I Am Groot!9 months ago in Personal More Like This
However when seeing the commercials, Groot was a bit interesting to me since he could only say, "I am Groot". After seeing the movie, Groot's character did NOT disappoint me and I grew to love him more.
The other main heroes were quite pleasing as well, especially Rocket Raccoon.
If you haven't seen the movie yet, I highly recommend it.

Happy Easter!I'd like to say a few words in respectHappy Easter!1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Today is the day our Lord Jesus died for us.
His body may have died but he rose again and brought life to all of us.
His sacrifice was to let us be forgiven for our wrong doings.
He died so we could live.
A lot of people forget what easter is really about
and get caught up with all the eggs and chocolate.
So lets make this easter full candy and fun but also remember
the true meaning of this beautiful day
"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die." John 11 25-26
Have a blessed day guys and happy easter!

Latest News: 8/29/2014Still hanging in there with life, I have been catching up with my anime as usual plus finally got to doodle one of the Assistdroids from CAT PLANET CUTIES as well Rin from INUYASHA and little of COOL WORLD. My first time doodling those didn't went too bad at all except trying to do Yu-Fat was a little tough for me. I've also was coming with some different stories, like my own take-off on COOL WORLD but deals with the world of anime/manga and also mixes with elements of David Lynch, for example. My story idea is still in progress, but am looking forward to it. This Sunday, my family will be having a huge Labor Day BBQ party, and a huge BBQ-catering truck will be coming as for serving up all that good food (sounds yummy), which I cannot wait for all that. and I can't stop thinking about it. My mom decided to turn our house into a ragtime saloon and it was SO LOUD twenty four hours a day because of the rousing Joplin tunes and the rowdy old-timey men and the bawdy barmaids and I could not get any work done at all. So I approached my mom and said, in the calmest, most direct manner I could, "Mom, I don't appreciate you turning our house into a ragtime saloon without even talking to me about it first. It's so loud all the time that I'm not getting enough sleep and consequently, I am not getting enough work done. I would appreciate it if our house could go back to being a house instead of a hubbub for early jazz influences."
But my mom didn't care. She was all, "You can't tell me what to do! We're making a ton of money, so you just have to suck it up!"
I tried to tell her that we couldn't pay the bills with early 20th century bank notes, but she would have non
