and I can't stop thinking about it. My mom decided to turn our house into a ragtime saloon and it was SO LOUD twenty four hours a day because of the rousing Joplin tunes and the rowdy old-timey men and the bawdy barmaids and I could not get any work done at all. So I approached my mom and said, in the calmest, most direct manner I could, "Mom, I don't appreciate you turning our house into a ragtime saloon without even talking to me about it first. It's so loud all the time that I'm not getting enough sleep and consequently, I am not getting enough work done. I would appreciate it if our house could go back to being a house instead of a hubbub for early jazz influences."
But my mom didn't care. She was all, "You can't tell me what to do! We're making a ton of money, so you just have to suck it up!"
I tried to tell her that we couldn't pay the bills with early 20th century bank notes, but she would have non
Mystery SolvedIt may interest you—then again, it may not—to know that I had a dream a few days ago in which I finally met and saw the face of the man of my dreams.Mystery Solved4 months ago in Personal More Like This
Now, let me preface this with an explanation: I dream about Mystery Man in regular intervals. Sometimes, we’re just walking hand-in-hand down a rainy street, which is either very romantic or the stupidest thing ever because in the dreams, neither of us is wearing a coat and we’re clearly at risk for pneumonia, but I digress. Sometimes, we’re just sitting on a couch, watching a movie. Sometimes, we’re yelling at Ian McKellen for no apparent reason. Sometimes, Ian McKellen yells back. Sometimes, we’re flying on large clown fish through the super market.
(Though I do not have extensive experience in the dating department, my research indicates that flying on large clown fish through supermarkets and yelling at Ian McKellen are perfectly acceptable dating activities. As long as you yell nice thi
Hard core, manToday at work, an older gentleman came in and asked how much it would cost to make copies of nine pages from a law book. I told him that at fifteen cents per page, his order would cost $1.35. He put one elbow on the counter, waggled his eyebrows, and said, “I bet you could use that for your party money, huh?”Hard core, man1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I had to refrain from cackling because a) $1.35 won’t even buy a pack of those noisemakers you use to annoy your parents on New Year’s Eve and b) I am the absolute farthest thing from a party girl ever. My idea of a party involves Disney karaoke, sliding on the tile in my socks, and rolling around on the floor until my gas is gone. I have had, in total, approximately four to five whole glasses of wine in my entire life. I do not twerk, grind, bump, or air hump. I do not shake my thing up in the club with my homies. I do not participate in keggers. The shortest skirt I own comes to the middle of my knees. I would rather wear a bustle than

“Some use Ink, I confide in Silver”
— Lauren E. Simonutti
Quote by Lauren E. Simonutti
“ The misfirings of my beloved/despised mind that conspire to convince me to destroy all have rendered me housebound and led to a solitary life. A creature of past, proof, memory and imaginary friends, I am aware enough to know the things I see and hear are not real, but that does not mean I do not still see and hear them.”
For a very long time Lauren Simonutti's haunting photographs were a spectral presence amongst

I got a marriage proposal this week.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I got a marriage proposal this week.2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Because it was from the guy in my French class who keeps asking the professor what he can to do get rid of the stretch marks on his inner thighs.
He also gets up in the middle of class, loudly announces he has to pee, and then leaves.
The kid who sits in front of him is going to snap one day because stretch mark guy will reach up out of nowhere and start rubbing the other guy's back.
Stretch mark kid also told me that I need to change my name to Chastity.
And then asked me to marry him.
I thought he was joking because, you know, who does that? So I was all, "Ha ha ha," but he just looked at me, completely serious, and went, "No, really."
I still thought he was joking, so I offered him another half-hearted "Ha ha ha."
He deadpanned, "I mean it."
I just started at him because what the heck am I supposed to say to something like that?
I went, "Um. No, thank you."
He keeps staring at me.
Doing Comics Professionally (best/worst idea)I remember back in Highschool I had this vision of what I was going to be doing with comics. I had these grandiose ideas that I'd land some graphic novel gig that was "Hollywood famous" and I'd be rolling in the dough, signing autographs for adoring fans, lights, camera, action--etc. ...and I did that, actually. I landed a Hollywood-famous graphic novel gig. I wasn't rolling in the dough but I had made more money than I'd ever seen in my entire lifetime, considering that I was of the below average - minimum wage working class up until that point. I went to cons by my own admission. I didn't have big companies sponsoring me so the funding usually came out of my own pockets. And there were a few fans of my work who I did live commissions for (thankyou guys, I was able to eat for another week). Dream accomplished right? ...but I ask myself was it worth it. Well, yes and I have a few regrets.Doing Comics Professionally (best/worst idea)8 months ago in Personal More Like This

Our neighbor's five-year-old granddaughter is coming over today to bake Halloween cookies, and I must have been thinking about it before I fell asleep last night because I had this dream that for whatever reason, we couldn't babysit her. So, in my unconscious need to reference Phantom in every possible situation, I made Erik do it instead. I don't remember most of the dream, but I do remember that he spent the entire time sulking and complaining about some sort of sewage backup problem while our neighbor's granddaughter made a holy mess in the kitchen baking.
And I remember I came home and Erik was wearing one of my t-shirts and these old green silk shorts my mom used to sleep in in the '80s, and everything was covered in frosting and I was really irritated, so I asked him what the heck happened and why he was utterly incapable of controlling a five-year-old. And then he stood up, pointed

I was in 8th grade. My mom has an old friend who graduated from an art school, who told me about dA for the first time. She admired my drawings greatly (even though I was just 13/14 or whatever) and suggested me to make an account. I drew this sketch of her on my phone, because she has a very unique dressing style.
I kept the name of the website in mind, but I didn't actually register.
It was actually a few months after I entered 9th Grade that I made an account. I've always been a hardcore fan of MJ but at that time my internet activity seemed to only circulate around MJ...oh the immature fangirl age. I was linked to dA because I was looking at this awesome person's paintings of MJ...

My month didn't had a good start because my lower back got sore and then my neck along with my head, but that didn't last too long so I am already feeling better once more. However, I did started read what :iconsorasfuturewife: recommended (since I saw her art for it) called HIGH SCHOOL DEBUT. It's a funny high-school romantic comedy shojo manga, and encouraged to recommend it to any manga readers out there (they sure make a cute couple). 've read only half of it, but got in the middle of the series not the beginning (no problem).
Today, I have started drawing Mulan since I was watching some Disney animated show that featured her in a cameo (that's SOFIA THE FIRST). The first one I've drew was when she was in her uniform and had that big golden sword by her side. It turned out pretty good, and continued to drew a little more of her. She's one pretty & awesome Chinese heroine (her traditional clothi
