to immortal words
that escape lips,
you might be wiser
by seeking their wisdom
than closing your mind

As if gravity wasn't enough
To keep a man grounded
In one spot
For an eternity,
The constant surge
Of freshly strewn
From the duct work
Makes every stroke of my paddle
As if I partook in the lusty lotus.
Never does the river
Even as the light fades,
The violent rapids

hips flow down
the river of legs
to her foundation.
Look beyond her smile,
insidious and vile,
full of contempt
Look beyond her ocean eyes,
into the black hole
that has claimed
as many men as the Bermuda Triangle.
Look beyond her words,
deceit laid in wait
to ensnare her prey
Look beyond this woman,
leading men to rocks
of Medusa victims.
Look beyond this woman
and imagine more,
wait till morning
and youll see.

and cages of hearts that grow from words.
I have seen the winds of sorrow blow in fall,
and scatter toadstools across your mouth.
I have talked in joy about sleepless nights,
and hurt and ached as the sun has risen.
I have learned of holes in space and time and
ripped my throat apart on pulling threads.
I have thought of times that never will exist,
and have held you captured in drunken eyes.
But never once did I dream of lovers shattering apart
or wandered in lavender scents over stars that died.

Like the absinthe, that
Drove the mad poets of
The old centuries past,
To their creative ecstasies.
Like the Leanan Sidhe
Inspiring my imagination,
To burn so fierce, so bright,
So it near consumes me.
I get lost in chartreuse,
In the sparkle of peridot.
In the Forest green
Of those eyes.
Three WordsIs it wrong to say, "I love you"Three Words5 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Having never known what it truly means
To love another individual, other than myself,
To feel the trickle of insanity
Flood from your flummoxed brain
Out your mouth in a stream of words
That you may regret in five seconds,
Not because they were negative,
But rather due
To the incomplete processing of information
That causes insecurity as to whether it was
Witty, stupid, or outright insane,
And whether in ten second if she will
Still be seated across the table.
Is it so wrong to be unable to imagine
A life that she does not exist
Commingled? That each breath
You long to take after each carefully crafted
Phrasing of words is not simply for me,
But rather just to express a mundane thought.
The idea that life is empty and infinite,
Filled with boundless opportunities
That I do not wish to bother with,
For I know there is one out of the
Infinite possibilities - specifically for me.
Is it really so wrong? I hope not,
But if it is, I long to be wrong
Papa, do not cry...Papa, shed not those tearsPapa, do not cry...6 years ago in Traditional Fixed Forms More Like This
because angels lay in heaven:
watching you push away those dear;
pleads; met with resistance.
You conquer nothing nor strengthen
the bonds you held diligently,
shattered in the wake
of your torrent of negligence.
Papa! I won't stand nor make
excuses for your decomposition,
but do not cry as mama has taken
her leave from your destruction.
Your constant stream of woes
no longer saddens, but suctions
all essence from those
willing to stand by you.
Please do not doze...
Papa, please listen too.
No longer cry your dissatisfaction
as tears shall not do-
Heaven is home, my satisfaction
so let angels lay in heaven
to watch with gratification
as you live in life and strengthen-
Please papa, do not cry and weaken!
Please papa, let your angel lay in heaven-
