Don't worry, I am not a ghost. I am (Lucas) Madder, something much worse. That's right gentlemen and ladies, I'm an Editor. An Editor of a now-defunct, small-yet-controversial company that closed because of what it tried to achieve, because of its beliefs. This company - designed to critique and handover novels to the large publishers - had one rule, and one rule only: flat-out reject traditional novels. Only accept for review Avant-Garde, novels that pushed the boundaries of what was acceptable, what was disgusting and, indeed, what was beautiful. We wanted novels that employed strange and eccentric ideas that challenged both the reader and the writer to enjoy something beautiful, exciting - and at times horrific.
And now I am going to challenge you to do what these writers did, to push the limits of your writing to new and unexplored levels that will kick you out of your pigeon-hole, and into the big bad world. And you just might turn that world into something special.

I apologise for the long hiatus; I've been a bit busy sorting out a few problems regarding the police, a stolen car, and my mum. Everything's okay now; I'm just a little bit shook up.
For those of you who don't know me, my name is Madder, and I am an Editor for an underground publishing house in Shanghai (now a writer for an ethics magazine in Singapore) that was notorious for the rule we had implemented: No "normal" novels. What do I mean? I mean no unoriginal writing, no stale tropes or recognisable characters. Yes, most publishing houses use these guidelines also, but we pushed the idea to its limits; almost to a fault. Our ideas included writing completely in the Future Tense (which was the first MC I gave last July), or with non-tangible characters (such as emotions, or planets). We were designed for Avant-Garde. It was our greatest strength, and our downfall.
And now I'm here to test your writing skills, your creativity a
Give Comments, Get Points!Submissions to the gallery are in abundance! Recently, there have been numerous works dabbling in many genres and styles, stories big and small as the folders bear fruit~Give Comments, Get Points!1 month ago in Personal More Like This
There are admins, there are members, but anyone can be a reader; official or not!
And (as an incentive really ) we're now giving away points for a limited amount of time!
We want to encourage members to read each other's work more often and learn from one another. Even despite a similar skill level, no writer is the same. And we all know that reading enhances writing! Authors bang on about it for a reason
So what does "giving comments, getting points" entail? READ THIS CAREFULLY
There will be 500 available in total. 50 each to the 10 top comment-givers!
The opportunity to earn will span between 23rd September to 14th October.
To be in for a chance, you must:
- Be a member of the group.
- Read work in the group gallery

Reasons to Love dA's Lit Community: Part 1
I love the literature community because it helps my writing and I also love to read what other people write and the ideas they come up with.
I love the literature community here on dA for various reasons, and one is that they are always supportive when you need some support or help. They always seem to be willing to give advice when it is asked for, or to just talk literature in often. Literature is one of the most powerful forms of art with the capability to shape the world and our cultures as we know it. Even t

Just wanted you to know what has happened to me, since that first day that you came and got me.
This may not mean much to you, you may not even recall those two years that we had together. But this is what it did; and will continue to do to me.
I was sat in the garden playing with a stringed puppet. I was asking her 'if she liked butter' as I moved her face above the buttercups on the lawn, to see the yellow light on her chin.
Suddenly, your giant, seven foot shadow fell on me. I looked up at your smiling face, as you took my hand and said that you had something to show me.
As you led me up the staircase, I thought, that maybe you had a present for me.
But, when we went into the bathroom and you locked the door, I felt that something was very wrong and that I was in trouble.

Lots of artists on dA do Points Commissions, also known as PCs, which involve creating art or design for other people on request in return for Points. Here are just a few of them...
If you're looking for a specific type of commission, simply use Ctrl+F, type in what you want (literature, drawing, polymer clay, digital, animation, colouring, icons, logos, design, tutorials, stamps, emotes, vector, 3D, pixel dolls, photography, photomanipulation, space art, terragen, digital art, journal skins, journal scripts, wallpapers, comics, fractals, journal css, gallery css, cosmetic application, craft) and your browser will do the hard work for you!

I'm going to provide all these Answer and more here, so listen up.
1.The most commonly asked question is "How did you learn how to draw"
I get asked this question a ton and my answer is pretty much the same every time. "PRACTICE!!!" I cannot stress this enough, but you have to practice. You will only get out of it what you put into it. How good do You want to be?
Truthfully thats up to you.
I've put in a good 15 years of drawing almost everyday. I've wanted to be a comic artist more than anything. I WANTED IT! And now I'm doing it. But I had to work at it. I didn't just wake up one day an

You all know Denmark, right? The tall, loud-mouthed, to-the-point, arrogant, hot-headed, oblivious, and lovable Dane? Well, someone like that sits about five seats away from me every time I go to class. He has the same upright messy sandy blonde hair as Denmark, blue eyes, tall height, loud voice, and ideal facial structure like Denmark might if he was real. In short, his looks aren't bad, either.
The problem? He's just like Denmark. Oh, is he ever. He doesn't shut up. At all. He has weird friends, but thinks he's friends with everyone. He always makes sure he's around a group of girls because he thinks he can understand them. He doesn't realize he's being too loud for the people around him to hear what the professor's trying to say. He thinks he knows everything, but he's usually about halfway each time. He works hard, but he brags more than his actions carry him through the day. He's s

Happy October, everyone! Or, as I like to refer to it: Halloween, day 1 of 31! And so starts my first full-length Vampire Bites comic, "House of Mirrors!" Be sure to stop by for a new page every day! Or check it out on its new homepage, Vampirebites.net! (It's a very basic website for now)
Oh man you guys, you have no idea. XD This comic's taken up my nights and weekends since May, and it's probably something close to 350 hours put into it. It's definitely got its flaws, but it's donnnne. Finally, some of my characters are actually going to get some story put into them, rather than just the occasional comic strip. Find out how Rantz spends his Halloweens, and how much of a pest he is to his classmates. XD
This month should also mark the end of my art-drought

Well, here's my reason. I'm reaching out to people because I like to make others happy. I'm not a saint, certainly not. But I do try to be the best I can be for others. Truth is, although the internet is a wonderful thing, you can feel terribly alone here. Sometimes it's just hard to find your place. But I think we could all be a lot more friendly towards e
