The Death Knight, Part 1It had always saddened me that I never remembered what my life once was. Day after day, traveling the world and fighting against the true threats of it with nothing more than a horse and a pet zombie fighting alongside me, I pondered my past life. In rare times I would get minor flashes of my home, some sign of who I was, but they made no sense. It was only worse knowing that the only connection remaining to that life, the last person who knew who I was, I had personally killed months before. Back when I obeyed his command. Back before I was freed from that damned Arthas. The Death Knight, Part 16 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
Even now those days feel like a blur. The first memory I have was of those times; when I awoke in the necropolis known as Acherus, when I first became a death knight. It was there that I was prepared for a task; the destruction of the Scarlet Crusade.
In a few short days, I had laid waste to all of their armies in and around New Avalon, a feat that surprised even the Lich King. With this utter destruction of the Scarl

Lorin grimaced at her image reflected in the pure water. The water tasted good, better than anywhere else because it was not touched by the impurities of the continent, at least so she believed. She looked at her reflection properly and frowned again, silver glowing eyes stared back at her, no facial markings whatsoever, hair as white as the ray of moonlight, fair porcelain skin, only 102 years old, she sighed. Was that not enough?
The soft light coming in through the thick canopy of the ancient forest was never enough to be called daylight, but she was accustomed to it, gradually, she would accustom to everything, given time.
She was coming of age when it was customary to find a consort, and although the more short-lived races liked to believe that creatures such as her had little to no problems in the waking world, they, the elves were as subject to tedious mundane irritations as everybody else. One of which, of course was her currently crumbled relationship with a certain

Hod was up to his knees in a snowdrift when the first wave of nausea hit him. He dropped his rifle and landed on one knee, catching his breath in surprise. All around him was silent snowfall and the quiet movements of the snow cats in the hills all around. The one he'd had in his sights stopped and turned to stare him down before sauntering off into Winterspring's freezing north.
The troll man sat back on his heels and picked the gun back up. The sickness in his gut twisted slowly and then eased away without so much as a ghost twinge. "Perhaps those rations were a bit too old for eating," he muttered, getting gingerly back to his feet and trudging deeper into the snowy woods. The flakes sifting through the air seemed to eat the sound of his voice as it left his lips in a cloud of steam. He paused to check his bearings once again, and went on alone.
He had left his faithful warp stalker at Everlook's stables, c

"Open your eyes," Noha snapped. "Come on, I don't have all day."
Hod recognized the young troll woman's voice immediately, but the world was still a shifting sea of vertigo that he dared not upset. He kept his eyes tightly shut and grunted softly. "It makes me sick," he murmured.
"Uncle Hod can't get up right now," JuJu said from where she sat by the fire pit stirring a pot of stew. "He sleeps a lot and I have to make him eat or he wouldn't eat at all."
"Oh you big baby," Noha sighed. He felt the hammock he was resting in swing as she leaned against it. Then there were arms under his, pulling him upright. Noha draped his left arm over her strong shoulders and then bent to swing his legs over the edge as well. "Stop complaining about a little bit of fever. You'll never get better if you don't get out of that bed and try." She led him slowly to the doorway and down the ste

I hear the drops outside my window.
I hear the thunder roll in the distance
The sound of trucks driving through mud puddles
I lay in bed, listening as the rain pours
hitting the tin roof, pounding through the quietness of the room.
Days upon days, I have slept
in peace and quiet
I drive through the mud puddles
The thunder still rolls in the distance.
The rain is soothing in this dry spell.
I am only happy when it rains.

The camp was full of torchlight and the chatter of soldiers, but Koshei’s focus was elsewhere. He was once again headed towards the small hut where they had been keeping Jin’thekk in solitary; he’d gone at least once a day, every day, for the past week. Sometimes it was at night, and others it was first thing in the morning. His schedule was often changing, but his determination did not waver. Even though Jin’thekk hadn’t said a single word to him since the morning he’d had the nightmare, the elf had no intention of giving up. They would get through this, even if it took a lifetime.
Wrapped out of sight, he’d brought a flank of nearly raw shoveltusk meat and a skin of water. They did, of course, feed the troll, but Koshei felt that it wasn’t nearl

Malfurion Stormrage, young in his years and still in his druidic classes, was usually a busy Kaldorei. Oft when he wished for some time alone (or maybe time with his brother,) he retreated to the valley separating the main city, Darnassus, and the training vale, Aldrassil. He explored the trees with his golden eyed brother (Illidan held these eyes proudly, as they were rare,), searching for caves and areas they had not yet seen, and giving them flourished life.
One day, Malfurion and Illidan were on one of these escapes, and Malfurion had found a beaten down path leading into the upper section of the western hills on the valley, the same ones that bordered Aldrassil on the other side. Illidan was focused on some animal or another, an owl that took a liking to him.
Malfurion shrugged this off, and trekked up the slope, it was easy with his staff by his side. He was not expecting the vast amount of life that the cave had concealed within its stony stomach.

Stretching briefly, she cracked her back and then made her way to the drawer that contained her clothing and dug everything out. Today was the day shed set off on her journey with Talein. After dressing herself, the woman went down, hauling all her belongings in her backpacks. She paid her dues, and headed out the gates of Silvermoon. Fingering the gold pouch on her belt, she headed for the mount vendor. After discussing prices and the likes, Kyuu settled for a swift green hawkstrider. She bid her farewells to the vendor and made back for the city, or at least tried too. The great bird squawked stubbornly and pulled back on the reins. Huffing, Kyuu gave a rough tug, which produced another grumpy caw from the Hawkstr

Violet lightning flashed constantly in the swirling storm clouds above, illuminating the stony landscape below. It never stopped storming here in the aptly named Netherstorm; when the planet called Draenor shattered, the Twisting Nether bled into the physical plane, rendering the place all but uninhabitable. The only real havens in the chaotic mage-storms were the bio-domes established by the entrepreneurial Consortium ethereals, and the goblin outpost of Area 52. But nowhere was entirely safe; magic was unstable in this collection of floating islands of rocks, made even more so by the series of "mana-forges" run by the fel-tainted Blood Elves. Even the demons of the Burning Legion had a foothold here; they ran forge-camps to construct the fearful Fel Reavers, and invasion points to bolster their forces in the Outlands.
And I'm supposed to get rid of one of them all by myself, Saciash thought sourly. How exciting.

"Other lands are not my concern" said Thranduil coldly. He noticed the disappointment on Tauriel's face to his words, when some presence distracted him for a moment. He needed to deflect his indiscretion with some other topic, "Legolas said you fought well today. He has grown VERY fond of you" He emphasized, passing Tauriel by, like she was nothing, his robes flowing as he helped himself to a glass of elven wine. Tauriel received the news with shock and was quick to improve the silence, so her King didn't get the wrong idea, "I assure you m'Lord, Legolas thinks of me as no more than a captain and a guard" Obviously, he was sensing certain mood in her. But he aimed at the wrong target, based solely on what his son told him.
He went on; "Perhaps he did once. Now I am not so sure" his tone was implying something else, making her feel like a prisoner of his sick assumptions. The psychological burden he laid on her shoulders was too heavy to bear,

A small face peered around a smooth stone pillar. Hands placed upon the cold surface that had been smoothed by the tides of many generations held eagerly. Even the salt in the water had done little to mar the surface of the stone. Blue hair whisked around his head, as the boy pulled his head back against the large column. The hallway was lined with them. All the paths of the palace was decorated with the supporting cylinders of stone. The palace was surly a site to see, though few had, unless you could breath in water. For this was the city of Atlantis, the residence of the ruling family of the merfolk and keepers of the sea.

Dís stood with her back to Thorin’s door for a while, with tears streaming down her cheeks. She heaved for breath, for she felt a heavy pressure on her chest, and could hardly breath. She tightened her hands into fists, trying to calm down. Her breathing came easier, and she blinked determined to stop the tears from falling.
She was out of her mind with anger for her brother, yet she understood everything he had said, and knew it was not simply his hatred of the elves who limited him. Dís understood his restrictions, and she knew Kíli had broken several laws, and would have to several others before this would all be resolved. Yet she wished Thorin would prioritize his family, as she knew he loved them all dearly.
Dís straightened herself when she heard steps in the dark of the corridor. She saw a figure walking towards her in the light of the lantern by Thorin’s door, the only one lighted in the corridor.
