Creative Commons-Attribution Share Alike 3.0 LicenSo, someone sent me a note asking me (and warning me) about my works being licensed as Creative Commons and how that was going to bring down fire and brimstone on the artistic community.Creative Commons-Attribution Share Alike 3.0 Licen2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I've already responded privately, but I thought I'd share my views with you here. Not least because I am a fervent believer in Copyleft, Creative Commons, and of course Copyright.
Thanks for your note warning me about the dangers of Creative Commons. I'm afraid though I'm going to have to disagree with you and your views on this subject. Aside from my graphic artistic creations, I'm also a published author of two science-fiction novels.
For the last 10+ years, each of my creations has been licensed under a Creative Commons like license (GNU Free Document License, CC-BY-NC) or flat out released to the public domain.
The only time a piece of my creation has NOT been released under a Copyleft license has been when it's been a work for hire which all copyrights were transferred upon delivery
